In Shanghai, I met four international students majoring in traditional Chinese medicine.
And I thought, why not take advantage of their expertise?
Hello doctors.
Okay, so why have you come to all of us today?
Yes, so I'm here because I've been having trouble going to sleep lately.
And then also, I don't have much appetite.
When do you start feeling this?
Three meals a day?
Yes.
Okay.
Are you also on any other medication at the moment?
Do you feel cold or hot?
I was thrilled about everything.
My meals, my period, sleep cycle, work travel.
Then came the pulse check.
So usually with the pulse, we're looking at the depth, the rate.
The vibe of the tone?
It's not very strong.
It's rapid and superficial.
You don't want it to be too strong.
You don't want it to be too weak.
You want it to be just right.
Yeah.
Beyond the consultation itself, what really struck me was their passion.
Formatics from Asia, Africa, North and Latin America,
treating me with ancient Chinese practices.
A reminder that traditional Chinese medicine is going global.
