Good morning! It is the last morning on trail. I'm cooking up a little bit of breakfast and
then I'm gonna get on the road. Again, the sun doesn't come up until like 7 a.m. but
when it sets at 7 p.m. I can't just be in my tent for that long. So it's time to get up and get
moving. It'll come up when it gets up. Anyway, yeah, I'm gonna pack up and get the brood and get out of here.
Make my way to Taos. Final coffee and oatmeal at the trail.
And we're hiking to Taos. We've got 19 miles, maybe a little less.
Mostly these kind of four-inch routes. We've got one
1,400 foot climb, which this does, but the rest of it should be pretty flat or downhill.
Chilling. Got a whole bunch of cows. Look at them go. Little babies. Bye cows!
Good morning. Hi.
Oh, I am ready for a hot meal and a hot shower. I'm gonna do my laundry.
It's gonna be good. I was gonna say something and I forget what it is. Sorry, it'll come to me at some point.
Look at what these beavers have been building. Quite the architects.
Well, I just finished the big climb of the day. It was actually really chill. It was nice and
graded and easy to follow and mostly in the shade, which is not bad at all. And now we're less than
10 miles to Taos. So it is quarter after 10 this morning and yeah, it's gonna take no time at all.
I'll probably be in town by like, I don't know, 1 30 or something. Yeah, crazy. What a trip. What a trip.
It's been a beautiful hike this morning. Very quiet. Perfect blue skies. Not too hot.
Smells like pine trees. It's very nice. Check it out. That's the first view of Taos.
Crazy. I almost finished this thing. Check it out. That's Taos behind me. Isn't that cool?
I'm less than 10 miles away and it's all downhill. I'm chilling.
Cool. I want to get tacos. That sounds good. I bet you Taos has some tacos.
Yeah. Delicious.
Look at our cactuses. Look at them go.
I'm almost down the hill. It's been a long downhill.
I'm on this kind of just like rocky, pebbly road path thing. Yeah, we're getting real close.
Just, I don't know, maybe a mile to the outskirts of town and then a couple of miles
on the sidewalks to get into the center and then we're done. It's a beautiful day. Look at all
these blue skies behind me. Lovely. Not too hot. Sunny and dry. Oh, a little breeze. It's lovely.
Last stretch of trail before I hit road going into Taos.
So this is a sort of alternate path that cuts off a little bit of weaving around and walking
on a highway without a shoulder. So it just kind of cuts through this little corridor under the
power lines. It's, yeah, so far a pretty good option. I think the only like small problem
this path has that it's covered in broken glass, but my shoes are fine.
I think this is the obligatory ice cream and snack stop, so let's go see what they got going on.
So I also had ice cream, but I ate it before I filmed it. I forgot,
but yeah, definitely stop here because you're almost to town. The clouds out here are so pretty.
We got a sidewalk now. We're really in town.
This is actually the end of it. We did it.
That's the end. That's the whole thing. We did Santa Fe to Taos. Eight days later,
we are here and now we get more beverages because I'm thirsty.
