In this video, let’s which important consorts were missing in the painting In My Heart There is the Power to Reigh Peaceably?
In Lang Shimin's video, we see the famous painting Xin Xie Zhi Ping Tu.
In this painting, we can see the images of Qianlong and his 12 beloved imperial women.
The thing I didn't tell you is in the original painting, there were at least 13 imperial women.
Yes, at least one consort was deleted from this painting.
If you have a chance to enjoy this painting in the museum, you should start from the right side.
Qianlong's image is a little bigger than the imperial women. Here, it isn't the actual size.
It represents that Qianlong's status is higher than the others. Xin Xie Zhi Ping Tu crossed about
40 years. The first four women were the Empress Xiaoxian, the noble consort Gao, the consort
Chen, and the consort Jia. Those four women were drawn in the painting at the same time.
There are three important consorts meeting in this part. The step-emperors, the imperial noble
consort Zhe Mi and the consort Yu. The imperial noble consort Zhe Mi passed away before Qianlong
became the emperor, so it's reasonable that she wasn't drawn in the painting.
Again, if you have a chance to watch the original painting, you can easily find there is a missing
consort between the noble consort Gao and the consort Chen. This position is the step-emperors.
Her image was deleted from the painting after she cut her hair. The weird thing is,
the consort Yu didn't be included in Xin Xie Zhi Ping Tu. The consort Yu was Qianlong's dege.
She went through the first class female attendant, the noble lady. After giving birth to Qianlong's
fifth son, Yongqi, she was promoted to the noble concubine. Four years later,
she became the consort until she passed away. The consort Yu's son, Yongqi, was one of Qianlong's
favorite sons and was considered as the crown prince by Qianlong. So, as the crown prince
candidate's biological mother, the consort Yu was the potential future empress' daughter.
So, what's happened in the real history? Back to the Xin Xie Zhi Ping Tu, after the consort
Lin, it is normal that I track of separation because those imperial women didn't be drawn
in the same time. In both sides of consort Lin's image, there were the tracks of
splishing. The left side is normal. How about the right side? The consort Lin was promoted
to the consort in 1348. Three years ago, the consort Yu already got the consort title.
So, is it possible that the image of consort Yu was deleted from the painting?
Now, this oil painting was considered as the picture of the step empress. Actually, there
wasn't the name of the lady in this painting. From the clothes, we know this lady is a consort
and her age is about 30 years old. The step empress was the consort from 17 to 28.
The consort Yu was the consort from 31 to 78. So, is it possible that the lady in this painting
is the consort Yu? Because we know, after cutting hairs, Qianlong ordered to destroy
all the images of the step empress. So, Qianlong forgot this one? For consort Rong,
I think it's reasonable that she wasn't included in Xin Xie Zhi Ping Tu. First, you should
understand the concept of Xin Xie Zhi Ping is from the book Li Ji Da Xue, which is a core text
of the Kung Fu schisms. The consort Rong was Muslim, which was too different with the
Kung Fu schisms. Again, this is my opinion. If you have different views, it's totally fine.
Thank you for watching this video. See you soon.
