Ready? I'm ready. Andy...
We may have found each other through unexpected circumstances, but the truth is that I would
have found you anywhere. On a train ride, up a mountain, on a flight, in a restaurant,
or on a dating app, my story was always going to end with you. Together you and I have pivoted
in our careers, moved to a new location, and kept little Luna alive. There's no other hand
I would rather hold, or shoulder I'd rather cry on, when in the middle of the unknown,
or the pouring rain. I remember our first dates, where every restaurant and coffee shop was closed,
but that still didn't keep us apart. Not only were we destined to find that true caffeine
hit whilst managing quarantine, we found more than that, we found each other, and we found love.
I vow to always be your biggest fan, and to celebrate every football goal that you score,
although I'm yet to see one.
To have faith in every DIY project, no matter how large, and trust that YouTube will guide
you in the right direction. Yeah, yeah. To always give you a forehead kiss each night before we
sleep. To catch you when you fall, because falling together makes us stronger, and I look to you when
I need protection. I promise to hold your hand as we scale every mountain, just like the three peaks
in 24 hours, but I can't promise that I won't have a cry on the way back down. To drink every cold
coffee you make me in the morning, because I'll most likely fall back to sleep. And to always fill
the kitchen cupboard so you can indulge in a secret midnight snack. And I vow that even when
we've been married a decade, people will still look at us and think that we're newlyweds.
One day, when the love we share becomes something bigger than just the two of us,
I vow to raise our children in a home full of love. In the chapter of late nights and early
mornings, I vow that no matter how much our life changes, the love we share will always remain the
same. You and I are a love story that's still being written, and I promise to love you forever, for
eternity, and that still won't be enough. You are all I've ever wanted love to be, and for four years
now you've been my destination, but today you become my home. That was beautiful babe.
I still remember when we first met. We had both swiped right and turned up to our
first date with our backpacks in hand, like a couple of Dora the Explorers.
You had brought the snacks and had a viewpoint you wanted to show me, and I had my coffee maker,
aiming to brew a somewhat drinkable beverage for the both of us in Blackheath Park. I remember
sitting crossed legs opposite you on that date, in the busiest city in the world, and it felt like
time had stood still. In that moment, I knew there were only two things that I care about,
making you laugh and seeing you smile, every day, forever. You are the most selfless and
loyal person that I could imagine sharing the rest of my life with. I love how brilliant and
passionate you are about the things that excite you. I love how eager you are to share these with
me. I love how seamlessly you fit into my family, and the way you take care of my friends too.
I love how hard you work for our future, and how much you love Luna.
I have loved getting to know this nurturing, loving, loyal woman, with the V-shaped back to
match. Yeah, you didn't know! You are kind, playful, and deeply unselfish. You have the
most beautiful heart and soul, and it shows in your kind eyes and warm smile. As your husband,
I promise to stand with you when life is good, and to stand even closer when it is challenging.
I will continue to throw tantrums when my DIY keeps going wrong.
I will work to stay present, and always make you feel heard. I will kill all the spiders.
I promise to support your dreams, and continue to build a fun and full life together. All these,
with hope, that our now four-year honeymoon phase continues forever. You deserve the best,
and I will always seek to give you mine.
