JESUS IS ALIVE RIGHT NOW PART 1 | Kids on the Move

Hi, I'm Pastor Hannah. Hello, Adam Bush coming at you. Hey, it's great to see you. Well, we can't see you because we're here and you're there, but let's pretend like we're together because it is Easter. Happy Easter. Today, we are starting something and saying something that goes like this, Jesus is alive right now. Say that after me, Jesus is alive right now. Jesus is alive right now. She said it, Jesus is alive right now. We're gonna have an awesome time hanging out today. What are we gonna do? Today, we're going to hear the Bible story. We're gonna sing some songs together. Pastor Adam has some special tricks up his sleeve and a super secret special guest. That's right. So when we're singing, why don't you participate? Why don't you get up, sing loud, dance, grab your parents, make them dance too. And make sure you're paying attention to the Bible story and just having a lot of fun with us. One thing that I'm super excited about that's brand new is a game that we're gonna play today called. Right now. All right, this game is called Right Now. How do we play? Okay, first thing you're gonna do, stand up. Everybody in the room, stand up. Everybody's playing, come on, stand up. Yeah, now divide into two teams. Maybe it's you against your mom, you against your brother and sister. Maybe there's nobody else there, so it's just you against your hamster. You might win that time. That's right. So to play, we're gonna tell you some things to do. We're gonna try to trick you. We're gonna say things like touch your nose. Whatever we say, don't do it. Don't do it. Until you see this. Right now. Then, after you see that, you have to remember what it was that we said to do last and you have to do that thing faster than anybody else in the room. Yeah, and if you are the one who does it the fastest, you're gonna get the points. Yeah. Okay, so maybe we have a little practice. I think that's a good idea. Okay, so it's just like, you be the host. Okay. And. You be the kid. I'll just be the kid. All right, look more like a kid. This is it. That's it. Okay, thank you. Okay, so here's what we're gonna do. Touch your nose. Touch your chin. Do a pushup. Throw your fist in the air. Right now. I think you got the points. Totally won, nailed it. You beat your hamster. Thank you. So, I guess we can play now. Perfect. You ready? Okay, so this is round one. Touch the doorknob. Do a pushup. Give yourself a high five. Run your hand through your hair. Give your opponent a high five. Sit down. Right now. All right, way to go. I think the person on this side won. I think it was this person. Okay, well, you know. We don't know. You make a decision, but whoever won, you got one point. One whole point. Way to go. Okay, on to round two. Touch your knee. Pat your head. Touch your elbow. Do a jumping jack. Right now. All right. I don't know. It looked like over there. I think so. I think this team always wins. Okay, well, okay. So whoever was, you got two points now. Two whole points. Okay, so we're pretty close. This next and final round, round three, is we're gonna do it and it's worth 20 million points. I like it. Okay. Ready? Round three. Dance around. Click your tongue. Do five pushups. Do air guitar. Right now. Way to go. That was awesome. Nice work. Whichever team won just got 20 million points, which means you won. So if you got all of those, you have 20 million and three points. Three points. That's pretty good. Awesome. Way to go. This is officially been our brand new game called Right Now. Woo. So get everybody talking. Yeah. We won't stop. We won't wait. We'll stand and sing. A savior's name. Sing it out. Jesus is alive right now. Whoa. Sing it out. Jesus is alive right now. Whoa. Death couldn't beat him. Nothing could hold him down. Our God cut the grave. So come on now. Jesus is alive right now. Say Jesus is alive right now. Jesus is alive right now. Shout it out. Jesus is alive right now. Sing it out. Stories of the Bible. Jesus' Sacrifice. This is Jesus. Hey-oh. Who is the son of God and the savior of the world. While Jesus was on earth, he taught everyone about God's love and healed people from their sickness. He did many miracles like calming storms. And even raised people from the dead. The Jewish leaders and teachers did not like what Jesus was doing or how he claimed to be the son of God. And so they made a plan to arrest him to get rid of him once and for all. Judas, one of Jesus' disciples, agreed to betray Jesus. And give him over to the religious leaders for some money. Jesus was in a garden praying and Judas showed the man who Jesus was. Jesus was arrested and taken to the rulers of the land so that they could decide what to do with him. Jesus was presented before the high council and they asked him if he was the Messiah, the savior of the Jews. They asked him if he was claiming to be the son of God. You say that I am. And the council was furious and they shouted that Jesus was guilty and he deserves to die. So they took Jesus before the Roman ruler Pilate and he heard the case against Jesus. Pilate didn't think that Jesus had done anything wrong. They found him to be innocent. So Pilate said that he would punish Jesus and then release him. But the crowd kept screaming louder and louder, crucify him, we want him dead. And because of the pressure of the crowd, Pilate turned Jesus over to the Roman soldiers to be crucified. Jesus was hurt and spit on. His clothes were torn and taken from him and a crown made out of thorns was put on his head. He was beaten so badly that he could barely stand on his own and then he was forced to carry his cross so far up a mountain that he needed help because he could not do it on his own. Once Jesus made it to the place where he would be crucified called the skull, the soldiers around him nailed him to the cross and waited for him to die. While Jesus was hanging on the cross, many people shouted to him, if you really are the son of God, save yourself from the cross. But Jesus knew he had to die to forgive his people for their sins. At noon, darkness fell across the whole land. Three hours later, Jesus took his last breath and finally died. At that very moment, the curtain in the temple that separated the priests from God's holy place tore in two. A soldier watching the whole thing said, this man truly was the son of God. Then a righteous man named Joseph came and placed Jesus's body in a tomb. Three days passed and it seemed that there was no hope. But very early on Sunday morning, the woman who cared for Jesus went to go visit his body and found that his tomb was empty and that he was no longer there. Don't be afraid, said an angel. He is not here, he is risen. At this, the woman remembered that Jesus had told them that he would rise again on the third day and ran to go tell the disciples what they had seen and heard. And then for the next 40 days, Jesus appeared to his disciples and many others and showed them that he was alive and well. He taught them that what he did was the only way that they could be forgiven and be with God forever. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but have eternal life. Hello, my friends, Adam Bush here. It's good to see you. Well, I can't see you, but you can see me. You're at home, most likely. I hope you're staying safe. Hey, today we're talking about how Jesus is alive right now. But what does that mean? What is this all about? Well, you've heard the story that Jesus came from heaven and was born on this earth as a baby. He grew up, the Bible says in the book of Luke, that he grew in wisdom and favor and stature with God and man. That means that he, as he grew, he learned about God and he learned who he was. When Jesus was 33, he died on the cross, but he didn't stay dead, did he? We know that God raised Jesus from the dead. He came back and talked to his disciples and then he went up to heaven and Jesus is alive right now. See how it all ties in together? That's what we call being a Christian, believing this whole story of the gospel, believing in Jesus. Some people say that when you pray the believer's prayer, you are getting saved or becoming Christian or asking Jesus into your heart. Maybe you've heard that before. So I thought that we kind of show you what that's sort of like. So I got my friend Peyton here. Peyton here has got an old, dirty, sinful heart. We're gonna get rid of it. So here we go. All right, we are ready. We got the table, I got my doctor stuff on and we got Peyton. Okay, just calm down. Now all I need is an assistant. Oh, Watson. Oh yes, you rang? Whoa, what is going on? Who is this kid right here? This is Peyton and today we're talking about how when you ask Jesus into your heart, it's like he takes your old heart out and gives you a brand new clean heart. And so we're gonna do a little heart surgery on old Peyton here. What? So I need an assistant. Let's see here. You can be assistant Dr. Watson there. You're saying me? I'm like your doctor's assistant. Yeah, like doctor's assistant. You're a doctor, I'm a doctor, we're all doctors. I'm a doctor? That's right. I've always wanted to be a doctor. Oh man, that was easy. Thought the barrier to entry was the main thing holding me back, but apparently it was just my own self. Yep, that's true. Okay, so after this you can do whatever you want. You know, with any good surgery, first thing you need to do is knock out the patient, right? Um, maybe in the 1800s, pal. We don't have any local anesthesia or something. I think this'll work. Here we go. Ready? In three, two, one. Did it work? Peyton, can you hear us? Oh, oh, oh. It worked, it worked. Get him again, get him again. Give it to him. Here we go, three, two, one. Oh. Oh, that worked. I think he's, yeah, he's out. All right, so first thing we need to do is open him up and get that old sinful heart out. Like open? Yeah, we're gonna open him up. Let's see here, I need something to, oh. Okay, let's get ready for this. This should work. What? That's for chopping vegetables and stuff, not for chopping, you know, doctor stuff. You are a good assistant. Let's find something else. Oh. We could use this. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. Way more doctor-y. Yeah, it could be kind of messy though. Oh, yeah. We'll save that for later. Okay. Uh, oh. Oh, what about that? Perfect. Now we're talking about cash, baby. All right, you ready? Let's do it. Okay, here we go, in three. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I'm sorry. I can't watch. Three, two, one. I'm gonna look. Shouldn't have looked. Is it open? I think it worked. Whoa. Okay. Now we just gotta open them up here. Let's see. It's harder than they tell you. There's a lot of crazy sounds coming out of there. Huh. Did not think that's what it would look like. A lot of stuff in there I wasn't expecting. Huh. Okay, we're gonna have to get some of this stuff out of the way to make room for getting the heart out. Let's see. Yeah, no kidding. Is that a mousetrap? Yeah. Guess he was saving that for later. It's fine. Let's see. What's that? Yeah, get that thing out of the way. What is that? It's a chocolate bunny. A chocolate bunny? Yeah. Well, hey, can you just like put that in my back pocket? I'll eat that later. Okay. It's still good. Five second rule still counts for internal organs, right? Seasonally appropriate. Okay. Oh man. Okay. Whoa. It's a can of pork and beans. Peyton, do you need a can opener? That'll be good for our bunker for later. See what else we got in here. What in the world? There's such an easier way to get this in your body. That's still sealed. They didn't even try to open it. He just went down the hatch. Oh, watch out. I think I see it. What do you got? Nurse! Scalpel! Wait, I'm the nurse. Scalpel! What is that? This is Peyton's old, sinful heart. This heart only wants bad things. Let's see. Let's listen to what it has to say. Ooh. This heart is telling a lot of lies. This heart likes to cheat and steal. This heart likes to be mean to his sister. Oh man, that's no good. We gotta get that out of there. Yeah, let's get this out of here. I'm not paying for that. All right. Now, it's time to put in a brand new, fresh, clean heart in Peyton. Let's see. All right. What's it say? Oh, this heart says really kind things. This heart is nice to everyone that Peyton comes around. It's nice to his sister. This heart doesn't lie. This heart doesn't like to cheat. This heart definitely loves Jesus. Cool, yeah. We gotta get that thing in there for sure. All right. Let's get this inside of Peyton. Okay. You ready? I'm ready. Three, two, one. You do it. Let's give it a little twist. Did you get it? I got it. Sweet. All right. Well, our work here is done. I'll see you later. I think that we should probably stitch him back up. Oh, right, right, right. Got anything we can use to close him back up? Let's see. I've got some, I've got a chocolate bunny. I've got some Coca-Cola. What about this? Oh, yes, definitely that. Use that. That thing is awesome. Okay, here we go. I'll just, I'll just figure it out. Yeah, just figure it out. Here we go. Give it one more for good measure. Yeah. Sweet. All right. Well, we should probably wake him back up, huh? Yep. He's probably got a good decent stuff. Everything I've ever seen in cartoons says that whatever you knocked him out with is what you need to use to wake him up. Totally makes sense. That's what I've seen too. All right, here we go. So three, two, one. Not quite. Try it with a little more muster. Come on, give it to him. Three, two, one. All right. Peyton is awake. Sit up here. Oh, he's alive. Okay, let's go. I consider this surgery successful. All right. So obviously when you ask Jesus into your heart, you're not going through a physical surgery. You don't get a physical new heart. It's more of an example. When you ask Jesus to be part of your life, you are getting the spirit of God on the inside of you. You're becoming part of God's family. And what's really cool is God made it really easy to be in his family. In fact, in the Bible, specifically in the book of Romans, it says that if you confess, which means say, if you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you are saved. It's that easy. And that's the first step to being part of God's family. And so you might be there right now in your living room, your house, your bedroom. Maybe you're watching this outside on a phone or an iPod, a computer. Maybe you're saying, Adam, I've never done this before. But you want to. I want you to do two things. Number one, if you've never done this before, but you want to, just wherever you are, whoever you're with, just raise your hand. Okay? You're just making a statement saying, you know what, I want to do this. I want to be part of God's family. Okay. You put your hand down. Number two, I want you to say this prayer after me. Okay? So you can close your eyes or you can keep them open and look at me and just follow me, but just pray this prayer after me. Here we go. Say, Heavenly Father, I love you. Thank you for sending Jesus. To come to earth and to die on the cross for me. Lord, I'm a sinner, but today I have decided to follow you. So with my mouth, I say, Jesus is Lord. And I believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. Right now, in this moment, today, I am saved. I am a Christian. I am part of God's family. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus name, amen. That's awesome. So awesome. I am so proud of you. If you did this, you made an awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome decision. Best decision I ever made. Best decision you've ever made, but you're not done yet. You got two things you gotta do, okay? Number one, after this, I want you to find someone else who is a Christian, who follows Jesus, and I want you to tell them about the prayer that you just prayed. Okay? Make sure you do that. And then number two, when you get a chance, you should grab a parent, grab a grownup, an adult you live with, and I want you to go to this website that's right here on the screen. And there, you're gonna find this prayer, and you're going to find stories that explain exactly what this prayer means to you. I'm so excited for you.
