Come with me as I explore this fancy and upscale Wendy’s fast food restaurant here in Independence, Ohio. This Wendy’s was built to conform to the standards of the city. It matches the McDonald’s across the street. The city has an ordinance that states that corporate businesses must have a colonial style to fit in. There was never an upstairs at this fast food restaurant, it just appears that way. within the past few years, they remodeled the interior. they also changed the classic Wendy’s sign on the outside as well as painted the awnings. The restaurant used to look more vintage and old school. here I show you photos from the past as comparison while I observe the new updates.

guys, today we have made it to my
hometown of Independence, Ohio.
This is the most fantastic,
magnificent Wendy's you've ever seen.
There is a work truck in the background
doing something. It might be loud. I
don't know. Um, but we are going to look
at this Wendy's and you're going to be
impressed.
Check out this Wendy's.
Originally,
the
brown roof and awnings that you see were
teal and also they had the old Wendy's
logo.
Um, I will insert some old photos so you
can see it.
When did they change it over? I think in
the past
couple of years. I don't think it was
too long ago when they changed this, but
the building has remained the same. The
brick is the same,
and it just looks fantastic. Something I
want to note about independence is that
they have rules about how corporate
businesses can look. They have to be
brick. They have to be colonial
style.
And you're going to see the McDonald's,
too. Um, another example of what I'm
talking about. Actually, the McDonald's
is right here in the background. So, as
you can see, Independence says if you're
going to put a McDonald's or a Wendy's
up, it's got to be brick. It's got to be
fancy. They have basically zoning laws
so that their city doesn't get a bad
image. Not bad image, but they just want
to be classier than others. Um,
even this gas station. Can you see the
bricks? I mean, this is the kind of
thing I'm talking about. Uh, I think
it's awesome. I think that it's a great
look, but as you can see, this Wendy's
is absolutely
amazing.
We're going to do an outside tour and
then
we will be going in.
This is Rockside Corners.
I remember coming to this strip plaza to
get a project done for my graphic design
class at the FedEx.
And I remember the zoop. I remember when
Chipotle came here in like 1999.
That menu board actually looks old.
Doesn't that menu board look? It does
look old. Yeah, that's an old style menu
board. I like this.
Oh, it smells good. I don't eat fast
food, but the the greasy smell does
sometimes entice me.
It's good to see an open business.
I wonder what this place looks like
inside, if they've modernized it.
We're going to see.
All right.
[Applause]
Check out these columns. Wow.
This is freaking awesome. That is That
is really the coolest Wendy's. Can I get
the door for you? Oh, sorry.
Thank you. Oh, definitely have
modernized.
This is definitely definitely
modernized.
Why did they remodel it? Uh I don't
know. I don't know when it was
remodeled.
And I'm trying to think. You know what?
I I didn't come to this Wendy's a whole
lot. Um I more so went to the
McDonald's,
but I'm trying to remember. Was there an
upstairs? I I don't think there was,
but they've obviously,
you know, made it so that you can't go
upstairs. I don't know if you ever
could, though. I should know this, but I
just didn't frequent the Wendy's that
much.
Um, if anybody knows, let me know.
Every night they hope other kids find
good moms and dads too.
Helping with helping us find adoptive
families.
Okay.
[Music]
So, this is a pretty
plain looking Wendy's.
I mean, this um
tile's nice. It's not terrible, but it's
very plain. They could use more design
in here. Look at these windows. Yeah,
they need they need to put more color in
here. They need to They need to do
something. It's missing something.
The wood booths aren't bad.
But all right, let's look at the
restrooms.
Wait, do you guys see the McDonald's?
It's really something.
All right, these are not too bad.
We'll give them a B.
I think they could be a little bit
cleaner. There's like some streaks, but
it's not terrible. I remember when I
cleaned the restrooms at the McDonald's.
Also, you can get the nutrition
information
here
in the corner by the restrooms.
It's always good to know the nutrition
information. You should read labels
whenever you can.
And I believe places now have to provide
this legally. So,
I agree with that. They definitely
should be providing nutrition
information.
[Music]
What do you guys think of the Wendy's? I
know it's been modernized, but
it's still very unique.
And who knows, maybe one day
they will make it more retro
again. But for now, this is the ones
that we have.
And
Still a pretty cool Wendy's. All right,
guys. What's your opinion on this
very fancy upscale Wendy's? I think this
is definitely the most unique Wendy's.
You don't really see Wendy's trying to
be unique. I've seen a few unique
McDonald's,
but Wendy's, you don't really see them
doing that. So, I if you know of a very
unique Wendy's, let me know where that
is,
cuz this is the only one I know. So,
hope you guys enjoyed the tour, and I
will see you on the next video.
