Hey guys, Liam here. Today I'm going to be showing my teammate, Isaac, how to play the guitar.
What's up bro? What's up bro? How you doing? I'm scared.
Stage one, the basics. Quick tour. Main things you need to know, these are your strings.
E, A, D, G, B, E. E, A? D, G, B. Why D? That's the notes, that's what they are.
And then these two are the same, E. Bottom E, high E. Don't worry about it,
it doesn't really matter that much. It's just my music theory from back in the day.
Here's your tuning pegs. I can go count. Exactly. This is how you hold it. You put it,
right now if I sit like this, you just put that on your leg, just like that. You rest your arm over
it. And then this hand should just sit over the sound hole like this, so that when you play,
it's getting carried away. There we go. I just actually learned that five minutes ago. It's one
of the easiest songs in the world. So, yeah, nice. You're looking awkward. You're looking like you're
hunching over it. You know, you need to relax more. So yeah, just feel relaxed. Kind of straighten
it up a little bit more. Sit a bit more upright. That's the best I have. Really? I'm just small.
The guitar. Yeah, there you go. No, you had it there. That's better. That's better. You want
to sit up. Yeah, not like that. There you go. All right. So your E minor is going to be like
this. Most importantly, when you play it, don't block. When you're playing a chord,
don't block the other strings. You want to make it clear. So if you're pressing on the strings,
if I'm pressing this as an E minor, I'm obviously over-exaggerating this, but I'm
pressing on the strings and not touching anything else. This is a minor. See how it's a sad chord?
Then if I make it a major, it's happier. Because I've got this finger here. And then minor,
sad. Happy, sad. We're going to play a sad E minor. So just literally these two strings right here.
Boom. Just there. Boom. Don't touch any of that. Boom. Boom. So nice and upright.
And then you're going to go. I lost it. No, no. It doesn't matter too much. So these two right here.
These two here. Yeah. And then don't touch anything else. And then just give it a strum.
It's not bad, actually. You're just blocking a couple of the strings. I got it. I got it. I got
it. No, no. Yeah. That's an E minor. And play all the strings. And then if you want to do a major,
put this finger right. No. There. No. One more down. One more down. There.
You're just blocking. You're blocking the strings. You're just blocking. You've got to
push nice and hard. Push firm. Push firm. Push. Push. No, no. Where are you going? Yeah. Put
them back. Put them back. Yeah. Firm. Firm. Play. There you go. There you go. And then you want to
play a G. One finger here. And one finger. Yeah. Like that. You nearly had it. No, no. Other way.
This one here. No. With this one. This one here. Yeah. And then this one here. Nope. There. And
then just those two. And then push hard and play. You've got to press harder. This part of your hand
is blocking the bottom strings. Bro, it's so hard. You've got to get your hand around it. I have a
cramp. You've got a cramp already? No, no. This one. This one? No, no. With this finger. This
one here. Yeah. This one. This one here. Yeah. And then don't block. I'm trying. There you go.
G. There's a G. G major. Five or six? Six. Yes. Nice. On a six string, there is 12 string guitars.
I've got one of those. Yeah. What do you do with 12? You're going to play two strings at the same
time on every... It's hard to play. Frets. Tell me what a fret is. A fret. There's a lot of frets.
In the guitar? Yeah. Just point to one. Yeah. It's a fret. These in between these, this is a fret.
Fret one, fret two, fret three. And they get smaller and smaller. It's what gives you the
different notes. So. Like references. Are they references? Yeah. They're like references. There
you go. References. I've never spoken about them like that, but references. Honestly, very patient.
Thank you. Very good. Thank you. When you say lesson two, we get two guitars and you
play a song together. Sure. I can teach us, honestly, the easiest, most simple songs.
Just I need to be a bit smoother on my... I'm having a cramp. See how you put a lot of effort
in. You just want to make it calm. There's no effort. Thanks for watching, guys. See you next time.
