We just have so much brainpower and so much creativity in the community
that it gets activated at a time like this.
In Rochester, Minnesota, Mayor Kim Norton has created new opportunities to help
local businesses get the financial support they need to weather this crisis.
We set up a grant system and it was called Keep It Local
and it was for businesses to support other businesses.
Exercise Abilities is a community-based rehabilitation and therapeutic health center.
This grant in particular, right away I knew how it could help us.
There is a lot of security risk opportunities in telehealth.
I know that we could come together and get that network security assessment done
to be compliant with HIPAA regulations, Medicare regulations.
About 85% of what we care for is high-risk populations and so we've had to completely
adapt because these individuals rely on our services to stay healthy and it's possible
for them to do their activities at home with our guidance over video.
It does make a difference and that we are able to improve health
at a greater amount with telehealth opportunities.
I hope people across the country are having the same type of experience we are with the
collaborative partnerships. I think that has been so key and eye-opening and helpful for us.
