You make me dance, bring me up, bring me down.
Play it sweet, make me move like a freak.
Mr. Sexo, beatmaps me, dance brings me.
Hi, I'm Brad.
Hi, I'm John.
Now then, we are going to go back to Improver.
Ivan Alexandrov.
I probably didn't butcher that one.
I think I actually might have gotten that one right.
Sorry, I'll try and mess it up next time.
As is it, best known as Improver, Russian beatboxer,
2019 Russian beatbox solo champion,
2020 disco vid beatbox battle solo champion,
2024 world solo champion.
You definitely know why, or see why, or hear why.
I'm trying to think what the last thing we did from him
was.
No, I don't think that was actually one of his originals.
Don't ask me on the spot.
I'm not, I'm trying to actually remember.
I think it was the one.
It was the one with the pink background.
That doesn't help any.
No, I'm pretty sure it was one of his originals.
Anyway, this is a beatbox cover of a song by Alexander Stan.
The song is Mr. Sexo Beat.
I hadn't heard of it, but apparently it was fairly well known.
So the Romanian singer, Alexander Stan,
released the song in September of 2010.
It's the second single from her debut studio album called Sexo Beats.
Apparently, the song is kind of like a combination of Eurodance,
dance pop, popcorn song, yay, popcorn songs.
Utilizing saxophones and rods, things like that,
and your traditional synthesizer and techno sounds and stuff.
Commercially, it was the singer's breakthrough single, apparently.
Reached the top 10 charts in more than 20 countries.
In America, I didn't actually pay attention to what it did on the other charts,
but the big Hot 100, it actually hit 21.
So, yeah.
So a Romanian singer managing to hit 21 on the charts
with a techno Eurobeat type song.
And this is when?
2010.
Yeah.
It was at least a week ago.
Yeah.
2010, that's like now, isn't it?
All right.
Got all that out for what?
Yes.
Info out.
All right.
Before we go, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
Check out...
Darn it.
Check out the description down below.
You're going to find all our links, information, stuff that we have down there.
Screwing me up.
Well, if I screw up, you're going to screw up.
That's because I had a hard time saying info.
Gosh.
Anyway, let's just hit play.
I think this one actually uses...
There's a couple of sounds in there that I think he's doing once and looping.
Yeah.
That's what I was kind of thinking.
That could be wrong.
It's got to be, I have no idea.
You know, because some of these artists, you think they're using a looper and it's kind of like,
oh no, I just...
Here, Mike, let me just go and do it right now.
Wing is famous, infamous, whatever, for doing a couple of his.
It's kind of like, do you use special effects like loopers and stuff while recording?
Answers questions, you know, video on his cell phone.
And he seems to just do a chunk of this, you know, whichever song it is.
And it's kind of like, no.
You know, it's like, here I am.
I'm recording the song on a cell phone.
Yeah.
There's no fancy, you know, looping or anything else on a cell phone.
It's literally, you know.
So it's very hard saying.
Yeah.
It sounds like he's using some looping, but.
So.
Hey, sexy girl, set you free.
Don't be so shy, play with me.
My dirty girl, can't you see that you belong next to me?
Hey, sexy girl, set you free.
Don't be so shy, play with me.
My dirty girl, can't you see you are the one I need?
Oh, you know, like I said before, just how they feel.
I mean, I guess you're an artist and you know how you're doing your thing.
Yeah.
How do you come up with what sound you're going to make?
I know.
I mean, I would think with something like this, because it's a cover, it's kind of like,
okay, it's covering a feature saxophone, the original feature saxophones and horns and stuff
like that. It's kind of like, oh, I have a fair bit of guidance here and, you know,
techno beat and stuff like that. It's kind of like, yeah, I'm gonna mimic fairly closely what
the original band. But, you know, yeah, when it comes to the original stuff.
Yeah, because I mean, I don't know the song. So it's like, you know, it's like,
yeah, he's doing a Van Halen song and making it sound like he's playing the guitar, you know,
any Van Halen solo or something like that. It's like, I'm gonna, you know, it's like,
okay, you're making these sounds to make it sound like an electric guitar, but like,
so much of it just seems like it just, yeah, I don't know. It's impressive.
Well, yeah, because like when Taurus did, I don't know why I'm pointing over there,
we didn't have an ACDC album over there. But Taurus did that cover of TNT.
And that was obviously different enough.
Oh, yeah, it was very different. It was very different enough to not get tinged by the ACDC
doesn't like their stuff being used. Sorry, ACDC's label does not like ACDC stuff being used.
Nothing to do with ACDC. But yeah, that was a good example of kind of like, okay, yeah,
we know the song. And it's like, yeah, what he did with that song is kind of like, okay, wow.
Yeah. And this is kind of the same thing. So you just don't happen to know the song.
Right? Yeah. It's like with the acapella groups, too. It's like, yeah, you're mimicking the drums,
you're mimicking this, you're mimicking that with your voice tones. Yeah. Whereas this is
just kind of like taking it a step further. Instead of mimicking it with the voice tone,
it's kind of like, oh, I can make a sound that sounds like an electric guitar, or a saxophone
or a horn. Yeah. And I know it with the original. But it's like, yeah, if it's a original,
it's like, yeah, I just find them impressive. Yeah. You can make that many different.
Yeah, he actually got into the supposedly, I was reading a thing that Improver actually got into it.
After seeing younger, he saw someone's video online, YouTube video doing beatboxing,
was immediately kind of like, oh, that is really cool. How's that done? Yeah. And he went down the
rabbit hole of basically watching, you know, Russian, how to videos, how to beatbox basically,
the other beatboxers have done. So he ended up going down that, you know, YouTube rabbit hole.
And here we are, he became world champion. Yeah. I actually read one thing somewhere that said he's
a two time world champion, which is funny, because it doesn't actually mention that on
the beatbox Wikipedia. But then one of the two, one of the two things that I mentioned could
actually be a world champion. You just never know what's going to influence you. And if you practice
and you do it good enough, and you work hard at it, you know, you can become a world champion.
Yeah. Odds are slim. Yeah. I should take that shot. But yeah, you know, some people, I don't
know. To me, I'm too much of an introvert to take that leap out there to do it. So,
but yeah, you never know. Yeah, I still got a few years left.
So, well, obviously, we're going to continue getting them up. So if you want to see those,
make sure you hit that like and subscribe. Comment suggestions down below and hit the
notification bell. YouTube will think about telling you when we do the suggestions that
come together. And until next time, thanks for watching.
