Hey what's up guys we're here in Chatsworth California at Wheels in Motion as you can
see on the wall.
Today I'm really excited because I'm picking up my 2021 Yamaha R1.
I haven't had a street bike R1 for a few years now.
If you remember the R1 was actually my first street bike that I had that had the R1S in
2017 and 2018.
Super pumped to get back on one.
This is not an R1S though it's a normal R1 model so it would be my first time owning
a normal R1 that wasn't the S that had the limitations that it had.
So I'm excited to get on this thing.
Weird story it's actually my first time ever purchasing my own street bike.
I've had little bikes that I've purchased in the past but this is the first liter bike
anything over 450cc's that I've bought myself.
So I'm really excited about that I don't know why but it just makes it feel a little bit
more special.
It's something that I'm actually buying and that I'm going to own.
It wasn't given to me so you guys can't say oh you're only saying this because you got
it for free.
That's not the case.
I paid whatever it is 16-17 thousand bucks we just paid for this thing.
So I'm super pumped on this and excited to start my relationship back up with Wheels
in Motion.
For those of you guys that have been following me for a while you know that they sponsor
our team in 15-16-17.
So I'm excited to get back with Ellie again he helped me out on the pricing on this thing
and in exchange we're probably going to have some bike nights or ride days something like
that from this dealership.
So if you guys are interested in something like that let me know in the comments.
I love doing those type of things and it'd be fun to go and ride with you guys again.
Coaching is now back in full swing.
Did I say coking?
Did I say coaching?
I feel like I just said coking.
I don't know why.
Coaching is back in full swing.
I've had a lot of guys emailing requesting coaching but I couldn't do that because we're
on the 300 and I haven't had a 1000 for almost a year now.
So I'm excited to get back to coaching with you guys.
Back to bike nights.
Back to the ride days.
Just want to have fun with everybody and get back to all the riding that we were doing
in 2017 and 2018.
Today we're going to take this thing.
It's totally stock.
Stock tires.
Nothing done to it.
We're going to go and ride some roads around here.
Some local spots.
Try it out and kind of see what it's all about.
So I'm really excited to get going.
Let's go.
Hey what's up guys.
Just wanted to bring you inside really quick before we go and ride this thing.
I want to introduce you to JC.
Hey everybody.
Welcome to Motion.
That was really funny.
Alright.
JC is your man.
If you want any motorcycle.
What do you guys sell?
Preferably come in and buy a Yamaha.
They've got R1's, R6's, FC10's, FC07's, all that good stuff.
But if you want to buy something else, they've got Cowley, they've got Ducati, you're not
supposed to buy that stuff.
Yeah but we've got the new R7 coming out pretty soon, shortly.
You can pick it up here at Wheels in Motion.
What?
You own an R7?
R7 is coming.
I don't even know that.
I'm actually riding one.
Rode it in Motor America and now they're coming out with one.
Pretty soon.
It'll be coming soon.
But JC is your man for real.
So I've been sending people to JC for, Wheels in Motion started sponsoring me at 15 but
I've known Ellie for a really long time.
So Gary Dean's a good buddy of mine.
He worked here for a long time.
He's known Ellie for a really long time.
Most of you guys watching this probably know who Gary Dean is.
But I've been sending people to JC for years now.
I think he's just, you know, obviously if you're on the East Coast it's harder but still
give them a call because their prices are insane.
It's like they just want you to get a motorcycle so they'll help you out as much as they can.
But JC's cool to deal with.
He's not like those normal sales guys you don't like see him walking up to as soon as
you get here.
He takes care of you once you want him to.
But if you want to go in the back he'll take care of you even more.
But JC's a man.
Hit him up.
Call him.
Let him know I sent you.
And yeah.
Let's go ride this thing.
And then one thing we do here at Wheels in Motion that nobody else does, we do free tires
for life.
For life!
Free tires for life!
If you do your scheduled maintenance with us, you buy a Yamaha, brand new, free tires
for life.
No burnouts, no track days, that's the only thing.
So if you're a track guy, it doesn't work for you.
Definitely on the street.
So if I'm in a canyon shredding like Max for this, I'm good?
Absolutely.
But you do have to do 4,500 miles.
These tires will reach that if you take care of them.
If you don't get 4,500 miles, you don't get the free tires for life.
All good.
Call JC.
Knowing you, yeah I dropped him a little bit.
Come on!
Go back down!
God!
Damn JC!
I'm pushing, you're steering!
You're steering with me!
Okay, got it.
You race for a living?
You don't ship bikes, that ain't his job!
JC!
That ain't his job!
Hold on.
Buy bikes from JC, we don't want them on your bike.
Yeah, that's right.
That's not my job baby, I make it happen.
Barely.
Barely!
Oh no!
Are you kidding me?
Pull that thing back.
What thing?
The rubber.
I know that, I don't know how to use a gas pump.
How's the mustache?
Cute.
I feel like I'm going to rip the hose off the pump.
Yeah, you're pretty close.
Am I?
No.
I'm getting a cramp.
You've only put $3 in.
How many gallons?
Not even one.
Really?
Yeah.
Well, I can't go any faster.
How about now?
1.2 gallons.
That's it?
Yep.
Just fart it.
I heard that.
Probably smell worse than the gas.
The gas is pretty bad.
Race fuel dawg.
Oh, she's cool.
How much is it?
$17.
Really?
Yeah.
To fill the bike up?
That's a lot.
$17?
For four gallons?
Dude, how much is it?
$4.50 a gallon.
That's what I pay for my car, dude.
Dude, why are gas prices so high?
I'm going to leave it up to you guys to answer that.
Tell me you didn't grow up around the racetrack without telling me you didn't grow up around
the racetrack.
Because I don't like the smell of gas.
Nick just rolled the windows down in the van like a little girl.
Fine.
I'll be a man.
Will you undo that, Nick?
Please, senor?
Oh, God.
Here's Nick.
Does not use a tie-down.
No.
Down here?
No.
It's a frickin' thing.
Oh, the strap?
Yeah.
Hey, let me see that camera.
No.
Get the f*** out of here.
Are there any cars coming?
No.
You want me to wait for one to come by?
Yeah.
Yo, what's up, guys?
I wanted to quickly provide a little bit of context.
While I was editing Josh's video, I realized that there wasn't really anything explaining
what happens next in this video.
Basically, what we did is we set up a camera slider so it recreates the exact same move
with the camera over and over, and then we swap out different racing suits from his seasons
and then try to create that into a video game intro, like a loading screen for when you're
selecting a character in a motorcycle game.
Yeah, hope you guys enjoy it.
Say what up for YouTube.
Hi!
Those kids filmed everything.
I told them, I was like, look up Josh Harrod, he's a pro racer.
They're like, no way!
Dude, they were literally like squatted down filming every spot, like four or five different
times.
Dude, they pulled me over.
No.
I'm just kidding.
Oh, ****!
That was pretty convincing, though.
Are you videoing?
Yeah.
So there's some cops, two motorcycle cops, and we were like super nervous I was going
to get pulled over.
So I'm cruising up, just trying to find out where they are, and there's two of them.
There wasn't just one, there's two.
They were parked, so I just pulled over and I like kind of told them like, hey, I just
bought the bike.
I race motorcycles professionally.
We're doing a little video shoot.
Is it cool if we just ride around?
He's like, oh, no problem, man.
We're just here.
There's a movie set right here and we're just kind of watching the entrance to the movie
set.
So do your thing.
As long as you're not flying down the road, we're good.
So unfortunately, I can't go balls out right now.
We're just going to ride.
That was kind of the plan anyway, just feel it out.
It's the first time I've rode this, totally stocked, breaking it in.
I kind of thought like, you know, it's going to take me a little while to get used to it,
but there's another coyote.
Holy crap.
Two of them just ran across the road.
I thought it was going to take a while to get used to it.
And I even talked to Stan Bullway, the team owner earlier.
I was like, you know, I feel like when I get on this thing, it's just going to feel like
home.
And it did.
He's like, no, no, it's going to take you a little while.
You've been on a bunch of different bikes.
I'm like, no, I think that there's because we've been struggling to find that last little
bit to feel comfortable on the race bike.
And I don't know what it is, but I don't think it's a bike.
We were talking about tire compounds today, how I used to prefer a harder front tire.
I was like, let's try it.
Because there's just something off about the bike right now that's keeping me from feeling
comfy.
I was like, I guarantee you when I get on this bike later, I'm going to feel right at
home.
He's like, no, I don't think so.
It's totally different.
But I got on this right now, and minus the bars being so narrow in, I felt so comfortable.
You know, as much as I've said in the past that I really like the bikes that I was riding,
I did.
You know, I like exploring new bikes.
I never rode any other brand bike besides the Yamaha my whole life.
So riding the Suzuki and the BMW was fun because it was something new.
I'd never experienced anything like those bikes in my life.
It was always the R1 and the R6.
I've never bullshitted anybody, but I feel like I've sometimes just got excited about
things and said things because I was excited about riding and I liked it at the time.
But this bike, there's something about it.
When I get on it, I just feel at home on it.
Dude, the cops were so cool.
I was like talking to them for like 10 minutes.
I was like, well, my buddy is going to film me a couple times.
And he's like, oh, OK, cool.
He was like totally chill about it.
Sweet.
All right, well.
So you're going to back it in?
No.
He's too tall to be on one of these bikes, man.
I have a bike called an Ovale.
It's like a little dirt bike, KX110.
But it's a GP, like a full blown race bike.
So it's not as small as a pocket bike.
It's a little bigger.
But he rode it one day.
It was the funniest thing I've ever done.
But I also think social media has hurt it a lot.
I think it can help it, but it's hurt it so much because people are so lazy.
They just want to watch it on their phones.
They don't want to go watch it.
He's talking about the drop off and the popularity in super bikes,
where his, obviously, monies have gone down.
So the fans can't party at the races.
Like at a motorcycle race, you want to go because you want to hang out with your buddies
and have a good time.
You just can't do it anymore.
You're impounding their bikes just because they're riding around with no helmet on.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is my buddy.
He's an LAPD.
He said, hey, that's Joss.
He knew who you were.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
That's Paul.
He said, hey, that's Joss Harris.
Well, he races bikes too.
We've got a couple guys that race bikes, but not professionally.
He'll wake up like 3 in the morning because that's what time, or 2 in the morning.
Oh, for MotoGP.
Yeah, or something like that.
He's telling me, oh, I've got to wake up at 2 in the morning.
It's because it's on live in Europe.
Yeah, I was saying that.
The whole society has gone crazy.
I'm thinking about New Zealand.
Anyhow, I hate to rush you guys, but we've got some big trucks coming in.
We'll move out of here.
Don't worry.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you so much.
Appreciate it.
And jump.
Dude, that popped my neck.
