🔰AOC wants 'big, bloated government'_ Trish Regan _ The Chris Salcedo Show
Trini Manow is co-founder of 76 Research and host of The Trish Regan Show.
The one, the only, the great Trish Regan.
Nice to see you, lady.
You know, it's not just passenger air travel, but the movement of goods across this country
impacted by the Democrat Schumer shutdown.
How much economic damage are the Democrats doing to our nation right now?
I think it could actually be quite massive.
I'm very concerned about it.
I suspect, Chris, that they may be softening a little bit only because we just got through
Tuesday.
And I think that there was some real fear among many in the Democrat Party that if
they folded at all, if they looked like they would waffle at all on the shutdown, that
they would be somehow painted as giving in to Donald Trump.
And so they needed to get through Tuesday.
But here's the problem.
You've got Thanksgiving coming up, right?
So that's going to be a lot of pressure on them.
And people aren't going to like it.
If you can't get to where you need to go because there's no FAA agents and they have to cancel
like 700 flights today.
Just imagine what Thanksgiving is going to look like.
And then to your point, you have all these goods that are getting shipped all over the
country.
Oh, you know, Amazon and Christmas gifts, et cetera.
This is the busiest time for the retail sector.
So it'll be hard on people, hard on businesses.
It's not good for the economy.
And you just wish they'd wake up and see the bigger picture.
Well, Democrats said, hey, we don't care about the pain.
It's all about their political gain.
And that's really all they care about.
And there are still going to be people out there who vote for him, you know, because
of the shutdown, the Labor Department could not release their October jobs report.
But according to a report by ADP, employment in the U.S. private sector accelerated faster
than expected in October.
Could it be the private sector is is moving on without government governments like, you
know, so yesterday?
Wouldn't that be great, right?
I mean, who needs who needs the big bloated government?
That's what they want.
That's what AOC wants.
That's what Mamdani wants.
They want all your money and they want the government to have it.
They want the government to distribute it.
So if you have a smaller government, believe me, we need a smaller government.
We can't continue with this big bloated government.
So in some ways, this might be a blessing in disguise.
We will streamline this.
We will learn to do more with less.
And that means the smaller government, which I frankly think is better for everyone.
Ultimately, I mean, despite the fact that we've got a lot of pain in the interim.
Look, the ADP report was encouraging, but it's still not enough.
I mean, some people are saying, hey, the the plus side, if you want to look at the glass
half full, is that it will put more pressure on Jerome Powell and those at the Fed to lower
rates even more, which, you know, Donald Trump has been calling for pretty consistently
saying we need to do this.
We need to do this. It's the middle class.
It's getting hurt. And you need to free up capital that loans are cheaper.
Mortgages are cheaper.
Car loans are cheaper. And there's some real validity to that.
And I think that the ADP report showing us what it showed, although, you know, these
things get revised and revised and revised.
And by the way, there's always the disconnect between ADP and the actual government numbers.
We'll see how it all shakes out when they all get back to work.
But I would just say, look, we're doing OK.
We could do better. And I guarantee you, this president wants to do better.
I just hope that has anybody checked on Jerome Powell, is he over his TDS?
Did he get it? Did he get a cure yet for TDS?
President Trump was asked about a job if it wasn't for Donald Trump.
I know. Speaking of the president, President Trump was asked about the.
I don't know how much it's TDS and how much it's just like the guy is sort of stuck in
another era. He hates Trump.
And he hates Trump.
And he's willing to punish the is that he hates Trump.
He's willing to punish the whole country for it.
Look at what's going on with oil prices and gas prices.
We don't have inflation now, but we do need rates to come down.
And it's kind of a no brainer.
But I say this all the time.
I mean, there was Jerome Powell printing money back in the day.
Right. And we were like, I remember being on your show saying, why is he doing that?
It's only going to lead to inflation.
And now I'm saying, why is he doing this?
It's only going to lead to hardship.
You need to move. Trust me. Trust me.
He hates he hates Trump.
Speaking of which, Trump was asked about the Supreme Court hearing arguments on the
I think it would be devastating for our country.
But I also think that we'll have to develop a game two plan.
We'll see what happens.
Most people tell me we did very well legally.
Trish, I've got only 30 seconds left, but our legal eagle said it doesn't look good.
The Supreme Court.
What if they undermine the 17 trillion dollars of investments coming into America?
My sense is the economic impact would be severe, courtesy of nine people in black robes.
Well, not to mention that we might have back pay, right, because we might now owe these
countries money if we have to pay back any of the tariffs.
I think it would I suspect the Supreme Court will come out somewhere in the middle where
they won't completely negate all of this.
But don't forget, the president has other levers he could use.
There's emergency powers, emergency economic powers.
He could have more targeted tariffs.
But I agree with you, Chris, it wouldn't be a good look.
It would be costly.
It would be difficult.
But he's got other things he can put in.
And you heard him say that, right, that we can look at some other ways of going about
this, both through the Emergency Powers Act, the Economic Emergencies Powers Act.
It could wind up that the court eventually strikes that down, too.
But again, he could come back with some kind of very targeted approach on trade.
So we'll see how it all goes.
But it makes people nervous, of course.
You know, folks, I thank God for my wonderful wife, my kids, my country, the greatest
nation ever. And Americans like you who believe in the truth.
The Chris Salcedo Show will never stop fighting for you.
The Chris Salcedo Show for the news you need to know.
