In a McDonald's shop, a man is breaking through the roof. When employees are getting prepared to leave, he burst in with a gun. However, as the employees were a bit tense, he relaxed them and told them to put on a coat. But the manager says he didn't bring his coat. He locks them in the freezer and tells them not to worry before leaving. He will call the police and they will rescue them. But the manager looks at him with sad eyes as he feels a bit cold. So the robber gives him his coat. But how did a nice man end up in this situation? Jeffrey Meshaester, after he retired from a U.S. Army, found himself in a bit of financial trouble, unable to provide for his family. On his daughter's birthday, he gifts her his old toy. But she didn't look happy with it, but she likes her father, so he didn't say anything. Outside, his friend Steve says he must do something. In their military service, he noticed that he was very observant. He must use this superpower of his. He then gives his children to his wife, Talana. When giving his two twin boys, he tells her that he can turn things around. He just needs to use his superpower. But Talana, fed up with him, ignore him. While going back, he notices a McDonald's shop's roof has a weak point and he knows they move their money every Monday. He then steals from any shops and now he has a large house and several cars. On his daughter's next birthday party, the news is playing about a man who steals from a rooftop of the shop. He has now stolen from countless shops and the police have given him the nickname of Roof Man. Watching the news, Steve has suspected him. But ignoring him, he goes to the party with a birthday cake. He then takes them to the garage as he has brought the bike his daughter wanted. She is very happy seeing the bike. But the police arrive at that moment to arrest him. Seeing them, he runs from there. His wife, horrified, sees the police running behind him. But the police soon catch up to him and arrest him in front of his daughter. The judge thinks he menaced a society, so he gives him 45 years of jail time. He arrives in the prison and calls his daughter from there. But she informs that her mother and his new boyfriend, Gary, tell her that they need to cut all contact with him. Jeffrey gets angry and tells him to give the phone to his mother. But his time with the call ends. He cuts his wife from his family picture. Everyone in the prison tells him to forget about them, but he is detriment to escape. He notices that if he does everything routinely, everyone stops paying attention. So now he starts observing their routine. He works in the prison workshop and when a delivery truck came, he pretends to check a gas leak and goes underneath. He marked a line there. After the truck leaves, he creates a cardboard with a marked size. He also makes some normal clothes. The truck again came with a delivery. When it's time to leave, he snakes underneath with the cardboard. He then hides there and with the cardboard blocking his view. The prison guards check the truck but find nothing. The truck driver on the road stops to take a leak. He comes out there and hides in the truck's blind spots. The driver is leaving and by the blind spots, he escapes to the jungle. He then put on the clothes he had made and pretended to be a hitchhiker to get a lift. He arrives at his wife's place. From the bushes, he watches his daughter riding the bike. But he can't go near her as a man is keeping an eye on her from a distance. He then calls his friend Steve but he says not to call him. He is all over the news. Jeff says he needs to escape from the country. But Steve says it's not possible now. He needs to hide and call him back after one month. After cutting the call, notice a cop car. So he goes in with a shopping cart inside the Toys R Us shop. The shop owner, Mitch, informs him that they are closing in 10 minutes. He starts to look through the place and goes inside the washroom. He finds an opening in the roof and goes up to hide. From there, he sees a cop searching the place. He hears Mitch is announcing to the shoppers that they will be closing soon. After the shop closed, he come down. He then checks the CCTV footage and goes inside the shop to take some candies, hiding from the CCTVs. But he is unable to do so. He eats the food he found in the office. He is watching the news about his disappearance. The authorities still couldn't figure out how he escaped. The next day, the shop opens and he hides on the rooftop. At night, he comes down and this time, he notices the CCTV manual. He then goes to the setting and turns off the recording. He now freely moves in the shop, eating candy as much as he wants. He finds a space behind the bike counter and makes a place for himself. In daytime, he just keeps quiet and at night, he enjoys his time. He gathered clothes and accessories from the shop. He is amused to see the police are barricading the city to catch him. One day, he finds baby monitors and sets those up throughout the store to keep an eye on the store staff. One day, he sees a staff member named Lee asking for a weekend off as she is recently separated and needs time to look after his two daughters. But Mitch turns him down rudely. Jeff, feeling sorry for her, note the password of Mitch from the footage. At night, he logs into his computer and changes Lee's schedule. After a week, his escape news has vanished from the news. He knows that, given enough time, people will forget about him. He changes the emergency lock door to leave the store. Outside, he calls Steve. But Steve's girlfriend, Michelle, picks up the call. She informs him that Steve has made contact with the military to serve for six months. He will come back on December 1st. Jeff then calls his daughter, but hears her enjoying herself with Gary. As no one answers, Talana picks up the phone and says that if it's Jeff, he needs to stop calling them or she will go to the police. They have moved on. He also needs to move on. Crying, Jeff stays silent. Back in the store, he sets up a calendar and marks the date December 1st. He is getting pretty bored in the shop. One day, Mitch stops one of the staff, Otis, and asks him if he has eaten candy from the shop as there are many missing. He is behaving a bit rudely and Otis is tense. When Lee comes to his rescue and says he can't behave like that, she takes Otis away and says he needs to stand up for himself. At night, he puts the candy back on the shelf. One day, he sees Lee inviting Mitch to her church. She informs him that she is in charge of the toy drive there and she would appreciate it if he could donate some toys. But Mitch isn't very interested and after she leaves, he throws away the liftlet. At night, Jeff picks it up. He then gathers some toys and leaves the shop with a bike. He then goes to the church and is about to leave the toy when a woman sees her. The woman insists that she brought the toys into the church. He hesitates at first but decides to go in. There is a singing choir going on and he joins in. He sees Lee singing on the stage. After that, he helped himself to some food. The pastor and his wife come to meet with him. He introduced himself with the fake name John Zorin. He says he is new to the area, having recently come from New York. They thank him for bringing the toys and say he should meet with Lee who runs the toy drive here and will be happy to meet him. She is talking to her daughter when others call him. They introduced her to John Zorin. She thanks him for the toys. Others ask him about his job. He says he works for the government and can't go into the details as all of this is confidential. Other jokes that they have spy amidst them. When they ask if he has children, he says he has a daughter and twin boys. However, they are with their mother as he divorced recently. They then offer her to join them for a singles dinner. He assures them he will be there. He leaves from there but he needs to freshen up if he wants to impress Lee. He steals some gaming equipment from a store to sell it. With the money, he visits the dentist as only eating candies has been hard on his teeth. He then dressed up nicely and arrived at dinner. He is surprised to see he is the only man there. He riz all the ladies up and they find them very funny. After hearing about his job, a retired police woman says he didn't know they had an intelligence unit here. He jokes around with her and says they have an intelligence unit everywhere. He is being hilarious and Lee is also enjoying his presence there. After the launch, they come out. She asks him if he is gay. Jeff is surprised but says he isn't. So Lee asks him out. She asks where she will pick him up. He replies that he lives in a government building which he can't disclose so they will meet at a park. On the date, she is impressed by his body. She says her ex-husband, also named Jeffrey, wasn't very fit. Hearing the name Jeffrey, he thought she was calling him. But soon understands that her ex's name is also Jeffrey. They hit it off on the date. So they go back to her place to spend some time. He asks him about her daughters. She says she has two daughters, Dee and Lindsey. Dee is 11 and Lindsey is 16. He says they can have a pizza party with her daughters as a family. Lee thinks it's too fast but agrees. He then hides his bike in the bushes and goes to sleep in the store. He arrives at Lee's house with lots of gifts. He gifts Dee her favorite toy and she loves it. He also gifts Lindsey but she refuses, thanks him and goes back to her room. Missing his own daughter, Jeff gets close to Dee and they create an instant bond. He now spends time together with as family. Attend church together and celebrate Halloween together. But Jeff knows that he cannot stay here for long. Someone will recognize him sooner or later. But he doesn't want to be alone. So he asks Lee if she want to move out somewhere with her daughter. But she refuses, saying her life is here. Jeff is selling more games and spending time with Lee and her daughters. One day, he is taking a bath at the store when Mitch comes in. But he has headphones and didn't notice Jeff's clothes, which he is drying up in the aisle. He tries to sneak out with his clothes. But when Mitch suddenly appears and sees him, he gets scared. He runs back to the office. So he runs towards his place and jumps over there. He turns on the baby monitor and sees that the police have arrived and are searching the place. The police inform Mitch that his CCTVs are not recording. The incident also made the news and Mitch telling the reporter that he is increasing security in the store. Jeff is at Thanksgiving dinner with Lee and the girls at their church. Everyone is talking about the naked man in the store and laughing about it. But Lee says that they shouldn't laugh about it. It must be a homeless man who breaks in to take a shower and it is very sad. As the conversation goes, Lindsay suddenly tells her mother she should quit, as it's pretty dangerous. She should think about her and Dee as they are alone in the house when she is at work. Soon, they get into an argument and she calls Jeff a weirdo. Then, cursing, her mother leaves. The next morning, he calls Steve and again his girlfriend picks up. She says he is sleeping, he should visit next Sunday and give him the address. Lee hears the conversation and asks where he is going. He says he needs to leave for a few days for work. When the girls come out, he asks them they apologize to each other. Lee apologizes first and then Lindsay apologizes for a small thing and asks her for a ride. But she is angry at her and says she should drive herself. But she argues back that she doesn't have a license. They again get into an argument. Jeff stops it and says they should come with him. He takes them to a car shop and chooses an automatic car. They go out for a test drive with a salesman. Suddenly, he starts driving very fast, scaring the salesman and Lee. But the girls enjoy it. He then stops suddenly and asks Lindsay to drive. But salesman angrily tells them to leave. He calms him down and gives him money, saying that if the girl likes it, they will buy it. Lindsay comes in the front and he teaches her to drive. She drives beautifully and they purchase the car. The salesman takes a family picture of them. He then goes to meet with Steve. Steve asks if he is hiding carefully and doesn't have contact with anyone. He says no, but he understands he probably has a girlfriend. He advises him to be careful. His girlfriend put a wig on him and changed up his appearance. They capture his photo and Steve says the documents will be ready soon and he will make the necessary arrangements so he can escape the country. Steve also reminded him that all of this will take 50k to arrange. He asks if he can manage it. He answered affirmatively. While coming back, he notices a pawn shop and guns are available. So he goes to the roof and breaks in from there. But he sees that he has come to the wrong shop. The pawn shop is next door. He breaks down the wall and the alarm turns on. He hurriedly steals a gun and bulletproof jacket. He then tries to escape. But he is unable to break the door so he takes the Buddha statue and breaks the door and escapes from there. He makes his hiding place more concealed as there is now increasing security. Mitch is telling his staff that the holiday season is coming and they will make the most of their money now. He says they will have to work hard even on Christmas Eve. He will make a schedule and everyone must follow it without any complaint. Jeff notices every movement in the stores. He sees them moving money with the security guards. At night, he changes Lee's Christmas schedule. He then decorated the whole house and surprised Lee. But she says she can't go to church as she has her shift. But Jeff says Mitch called and changed her schedule. They are in the church choir and Jeff's eyes are teary thinking he has to leave them. Lee notices this. Back at the shop, he is getting ready for his robbery. The security guards arrive to collect the money. So he comes out from hiding, showing the gun. And he orders the staff to gather up and lie on the floor. He stops the security guard and orders him the same. But he tries to reach for the gun so he knocks him out. He says it's his fault and orders Mitch to tie up the employees. He then tells him to take him to the vault. He tells him to put the money in the bag and he also needs to take out the ink bomb. Trying to do so, it blasts and Mitch's eyes get filled with it. Jeff is leaving with money when Otis screams that the security guards need an ambulance. He calls him a bully. He sees that Mitch is still struggling with his eyes. So he goes to call 911 when he sees Lee coming into the store. He tries to catch her but she runs from there. So Jeff also runs from there. The police arrive at the shop and searching the shop, they find Jeff's hiding place. The police interrogate Lee and she says that she didn't notice much, only that he is white. Jeff gives money to Steve. He gives him the necessary documents. He informs him that he needs to leave tomorrow morning. But Jeff says he can't go on holiday. Steve says he needs to leave, his man will be waiting for him there. He can't wait for the goodbyes. He needs to start a new life and leave his past behind. He advised him to destroy any trace he has here. Jeff collects some petrol and goes to the dentist. He throws petrol and burns it down. The whole shop blasts behind him. He is driving toward the airport and sees Lee calling him. He didn't pick up but she is still calling. So he stops the car and picks up. She asks where he is and asks if he is coming for Christmas dinner. He says he will definitely come. He asks if everything is okay as she is breathing heavily. She says everything is fine and will see him at dinner. Crying, Jeff decides to go back. He arrived at the house with gifts. He knocks on the door but nobody opens it. He unlocks it and tries to enter when the cops burst in and arrest him. Lee from the police car hears him being arrested. He is put back in prison and they add more years to his sentence. He now thinks of the choices he made and life can be turned because of those choices. He now understands that the people who love him, he doesn't need to give them fancy gifts. They just needed his time, which he now has plenty. Someone asks if he thinks about breaking again but he says no. He is where he should be. He then meets with Lee again. He apologizes to her and says he understands why she did it. They reconcile with each other. Jeffrey attempted to escape two more times. Lee has remarried and visited him recently after a decade. Jeff will be eligible for parole in 2036. He currently works as a prison librarian and insists that he has no desire for further escape. So this was the recap of the movie Roofman 2025.
