UC Berkeley 暴力事件再起,保守派講者遭封口、媒體照樣護航?
Charlie Kirk 離開不到兩個月,校園現場再度失控: 煙霧、暴力、媒體卻稱「大多數和平」。學生根本不知發生什麼?還是背後另有組織在操縱?

So protests turned violent outside a Turning Point USA event at UC Berkeley as agitators
threw rocks and set off flares to try to block the campus. The chaos prompted an investigation
by the Department of Justice. The Joint Terrorism Task Force is going to be looking into this
together with the DOJ, my Civil Rights Division, and the FBI and understand what happened here.
How did it come to be the case that when Berkeley has noticed that this type of violence occurs on
the campus when conservative speakers come to speak and by Rob Schneider had been scheduled
to speak. It was a sold out crowd. So we have some serious questions and concerns about this
and there'll be a full federal investigation. Andrew Kollwitz, the executive producer of
The Charlie Kirk Show. All right, Andrew, so what happened last night?
Well, Jesse, you know, it seems like it was a coordinated attack on a peaceful event. And you
can't make this stuff up, as you said in your in your lead up that they they say in their flyers
that we're inciting violence just by being on campus and hosting an event with Rob Schneider,
a comedian, actor. And the irony is just so rich because they say that our words are violence,
but their actual violence is mostly peaceful. And so they they cordoned off. They put their
university, put the free speech plaza right in front of the entrance. So, of course, all chaos
broke out and we were funneled into one entryway into this venue. And it took for that car backfire
before the cops actually got in into gear and actively engaged the crowd, these agitators,
these far left Antifa thugs. It took that because people thought it was an actual gun going off or a
bomb exploding and people started scattering, Jesse. So this was an absolute coordinated attack
to disrupt the event. And thank goodness they failed. I mean, do you think that any of the
local officials purposely made it difficult, made it a little bit more dangerous? Yeah. I mean,
Jesse, I do. Actually, I you know, I want to be careful with what I say, but I will tell you two
weeks before the event, we had to switch to the university's ticket ticketing system. And so what
happens when you do that is it opens it up for far left agitators and protesters, disruptors
to grab those tickets. And so what we had happen is that there was about 500 tickets of people that
didn't show up and that's their whole game. They want to grab the tickets and then leave it empty
to make it look like we don't have a big growing movement in the wake of Charlie's assassination.
And the truth is thousands of people were not able to get into this event because either their
tickets didn't work, they got scared away or harassed and attacked and had to flee the scene.
And the university's response was, it's not our job to fill your event. Well, we filled it anyways,
but there was thousands more that wanted to be there and were unable to make it because
of the shenanigans with the ticketing system. And we've had that at other universities. It's
actually become a common ploy of, I think, left wingers within the admins that want to
disrupt our event, that don't want us to be there. Well, we've got news for them. We're not stopping.
How about this guy, Jihad? Can you believe this guy's name is Jihad?
What was he trying to, he was trying to snatch that guy's, what, his cross off his neck?
Yeah, that's exactly what he was trying to do. This was a peaceful guy. We have video from well
before this altercation took place. He was just out there with his red freedom shirts and he kept
saying, Jesus is Lord, Jesus is Lord. And they were agitating, they were attacking him, jeering.
And he just remained peaceful until Jihad came up, grabbed his cross off his neck,
and that poor gentleman went to go collect it. And the guy started attacking and assaulting him.
And to his credit, he kept going. He wanted his cross back before the police. They obviously
didn't know who started or what was going on. Both of them got cuffed, but ultimately it was
Jihad that is getting arrested and he's getting charged, thankfully.
All right. You guys feel safe? I mean, this is just, I mean, it's a couple months away
from Charlie's assassination on a campus. You guys are doing your campus tour and
violence is already breaking out. Yeah. I mean, I want to give a hat tip
to our amazing staff and our amazing students. They are heroic. They are doing heroic things,
persevering in the face of unspeakable harassment that you saw unfold last night.
And do we feel safe? I mean, yes and no. Obviously we have a lot of courage. We're
doing this for Charlie. We're not stopping. We're not backing down. But, you know, I don't
understand why local authorities, why the school is allowing these thugs to intimidate, harass,
jeer, shout out our attendees and our students. It's absolutely unacceptable. More needs to be
done, Jesse, because we know these people. We know what they're doing. They tell us in advance that
they're going to be there. They're going to organize and we know their tactics. And Antifa
has been, you know, it's now a domestic terror group. And I think more needs to be done. So I'm
grateful to Assistant AG Harmeet Dhillon, who's stepping up, Attorney General Pam Bondi. They're
all making statements. We want to see action. We want to see these people be held accountable.
Yeah, so do we. It's been far too long they've been able to run wild. All right, Andrew,
stay safe. Thank you. Joe Rogan, right? He has a huge podcast, millions of followers and listeners.
He's not party affiliated, but he had this warning for the left where he talked about
that these celebrations, these vile celebrations over Charlie Kirk's assassination might push
America to the brink as well. Charlie Kirk gets shot and people are celebrating like, whoa,
whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. You want people to die that you disagree with? Like, where are we right
now on the scale of one to two civil war? Where are we? Are we at seven? Because I thought we were
five. I thought we were like four, four or five. But after Charlie Kirk, I'm like, oh, we might be
like seven. This might be like step seven on the way to a bona fide civil war. Leslie, is he right?
No. And as a broadcaster, I think it's irresponsible to even put that out there.
You know, we're a great nation. And one of the things that makes us great is that we can live
together with all of our different ethnicities and cultures and religions and political ideologies.
There aren't just two, isn't just left and right, as we can see from primaries, right?
There's left of left and there's right of right. I want to say something. First, I want to say
that violence and I will repeat that violence is wrong. Violence for any reason is wrong.
Two, people in this country have a First Amendment constitutional right to free speech,
but not to incite violence. I never, I don't think I agree with anything Charlie said,
but he had the right to say it. You should never, ever, ever say anything demeaning about somebody
who has been assassinated, cut down in the prime of life. And in addition to that, you just don't
speak ill of the dead. That's how I was raised. You just you don't speak ill of the dead.
You know, Turning Point has a right to have their membership and to have their meetings.
But I also want to point out that University of Berkeley has 46,000 students. And on my radio show,
we had a man on the ground, you know, the man on the street go and talk to people. And it's amazing
how many students didn't even know this was going on. They didn't even know. The campus is 98 acres.
It's really huge. This is happening on one end of the campus. Also, if you look at all the footage,
there are some older people that were there. I find it hard to believe they were students.
So I just want to say I don't want the kids at UC Berkeley to all be demonized.
I don't believe that everybody there was students. Again, violence is never right. It's never the
answer, you know, regardless of your political ideology. And every campus should welcome other
opinions like liberty. Let some atheists talk. UC Berkeley, let conservatives talk. I believe in
that free speech. And I believe that's how we become more united and don't have a civil war.
Sounds similar to a Columbia. In Columbia, they said a lot of these people weren't their students,
but they were organized with the unsavory attitude. There's the violence we saw at UC Berkeley.
There's the social studies teacher you played that said, by Charlie, what a piece of garbage.
Look what happens. I mean, what an appalling thing to say. And this person is teaching students.
That's not just one isolated example. We've seen examples like this across the country.
And those folks belong nowhere near educating our children. And at UC Berkeley,
if we could just pull back up those images, my favorite was the media. There were some in the
media trying to tell us this was mostly peaceful, wasn't mostly peaceful. There were fireworks,
there was tear gas. You covered, is that peaceful? There was a bloodied face. No,
that's not mostly peaceful. That was a real CNN moment for the media when they said
mostly peaceful protests as fire raged behind the reporter. That was in a different context
in the summer of 2020. This was not mostly peaceful. This was very, very wrong. And what
speech were they stifling? Not that it matters because free speech doesn't characterize what
you say. Everyone deserves free speech protections as long as you're not inciting violence. But the
speech that they were objecting to was that of Frank Turek, who was one of the two speakers.
Frank Turek, a pastor, he was one of the last people with Charlie on that day,
stood on the stage and said, the Bible talks about the fact that testing produces patience.
Patience produces character. Tribulation leads to hope. And it says all things work together
for the good of those that love God. So that's the hateful speech to which they were protesting.
I have Frank Turek joining me Saturday to talk about that moment as people tried to stop him
from speaking and stop the people outside there. And I just want to end with Bill Maher. I never
thought that I'd be someone who quotes Bill Maher frequently, but I want to because he has been very
good on these issues. And he said this. He said that Charlie Kirk was shot under a banner that
said, prove me wrong because he was a debater. Too many people think that the way to prove you
wrong is just to eliminate you. He said that is gross. And he says, I have no use for you
if you say those things. Good for Bill Maher once again for standing up for free speech.
Good for you, Leslie. And I hope we hear that broadly. Yeah. And I don't want this to go
unsaid, Leslie, which is that when you said you don't think you maybe agree with anything he said,
maybe you and I can sit down and listen to things he said and we'll find some common ground because
there was a lot of love in what Charlie said.
