I got water for me? Look at y'all, y'all didn't have to.
What up you guys, my name is Mamadou.
We're in the music room.
This is called Open Your Eyes.
When the last time you seen somebody
Fit just what you need
Might have been close but it's just not there
That's not reality
When the last time you seen somebody
Perfect, oh please
Take a sip of water
If I'm not your cup of tea
Tell it to me
Whole lot of flavors in it like a vending machine
Real fine, fine wine like a delicacy
I do this for the underdog, no who better than me
I've been knocked down, I've been boxed out, I've been bruised
But when your luck's up, you bite down, you chew
The crowd roars, you push more, you pull
What would you do?
I told these boys I'm an animal
Got some dudes outside that can handle you
I told these boys I'm an animal
Don't touch this cold flammable
When the last time you seen somebody
Smile through all this heat
Sing and rap, do this and that
Write music week to week
Look, open the eyes, they can see now
Don't blink, don't leave out
Details in a decal
Woo, all eyes on me now
I've been knocked down, I've been boxed out, I've been bruised
But when your luck's up, you bite down, you chew
The crowd roars, you push more, you pull
What would you do?
Told these boys I'm an animal
Got some girls outside that can handle you
Told these boys I'm an animal
Can't catch this drift, laughable
Fifty-fifty, imagine a iffy
Especially when the vertigin and they compare me to Missy
I got the rhythm and the flow, flame a hundred and fifty
And they don't even know it's nice because I'm making them dizzy
I've been knocked down, I've been boxed out, I've been bruised
But when your luck's up, you bite down, you chew
The crowd roars, you push more
When you're locked out, you break doors
When it runs out, you make more
Then you show them what you're made for
When the last time you seen
When the last time you
When the last time you seen
Somebody like Mama Duke on your screen
Yeah, we gonna keep that in, keep that in
That's real, that's hip-hop, that's hip-hop
Keep that in, keep that in
So what inspired this song, Mama Duke?
Oh man, there was a lot of pressure writing this song
I just wanted to write something like cinematic
Like I knew, I just didn't want to follow the code
You know, I wanted to break it a little bit
And it was a risk, and we took it
And I'm happy with what we did out there
What first inspired your journey into music?
Oh man, I think being raised with Tejano music
And country music and all things other than rap
Ironically made it here
I think it's just the sound
It's that you're saying something
It's like you're rewinding
You're like, wait, he said, she said what?
You know, and so it's just storytelling for me
I get to be this person for a little bit
I get to write, I get to help you
Bring your emotions out for a little bit
I get to live in that world for a little bit
And so that's inspiring
Do you feel like your writing is more lyric-driven
Or beat-driven?
Oh man, I have to hear the beat first
People like write lyrics and put lyrics to music
But for me, it starts with that beat
I need you to tell me
So then I can channel
And we can bridge, marry, you know?
How do you feel being in the AGT finals?
Come on, rap music made it here
You know, top ten, top ten's not so bad
If I can be right here
You truly can do anything, you know?
One last thing
Ally Z, shout out to Ally Z, I love you Ally Z
Love you Mama D
More of Ally Z's

I thought I got my shoes
