Half a Million Kilometres of Carbon Build-Up in This Hilux Engine 🔥

This Toyota Hilux has done over 500,000 kilometres — and what we found inside the intake and EGR valve is unreal 😳
Years of exhaust gas recirculation and oil vapour build-up have created a thick layer of carbon that’s choking airflow, blocking the turbo, and killing performance.
In this video, we show you:
⚙️ What carbon build-up actually looks like inside a high-kilometre diesel engine
🔩 How EGR systems cause the problem
💨 Why your turbo loses power and fuel efficiency over time
🧼 The best way to fix and prevent it for good
If you drive a Hilux, LandCruiser, or any diesel engine — this is what’s happening inside your intake right now.

This Toyota Hilux has done half a million kilometers, and what's hiding inside the
intake is unbelievable. That thick black sludge you're looking at isn't oil. It's an inch of
pure carbon build-up that's been forming slowly over years of driving. Every time the EGR valve
opens, hot exhaust gases are pushed back through the intake to reduce emissions. But when those
gases mix with oil vapor, they create a sticky soot that coats every surface it touches. And
over time, that soot hardens into carbon, blocking airflow, choking your turbo, and strangling your
engine's performance. You can see it right here. The airway is almost completely closed up. At
this point, the engine can barely breathe. Fuel efficiency drops, power disappears, and the idle
turns rough. The worst part? Even if you clean it once, it comes back. Because as long as that EGR
valve keeps opening, the same dirty exhaust gases will keep cycling through. That's why we always
recommend an EGR delete cable. It safely tells the ECU to keep the valve closed, stopping those
gases from re-entering, and keeping your intake clean for good. Combine that with a proper carbon
clean, and your Hilux will feel smoother, more responsive, and run like new again. Half a million
kilometers of build-up looks bad, but it's completely preventable. Follow the links in
