Das Abenteuer beginnt! Ich starte meine 1000 km Bikepacking-Fahrradtour von Hamburg über Dänemark bis nach Schweden – alleine, offline und nur mit meinem Fahrrad. - Adventure Buddy - Solo Bikepacking Fahrradtour Teil 5
Hey guys, what's up and welcome to a new video on my channel.
Today is the 5th and thus the last part of the bike tour, but before we start, I have a short announcement.
My long-time partner Olight has a really cool discount at the start.
Whether on a bike tour while hiking, exploring Lost Place or now in the gloomy time of the year,
just taking a walk outside in the evening, having a decent flashlight with you is definitely not wrong.
And when it comes to flashlights, as I mentioned, I've been using Olight flashlights for years.
You can save up to 50% at the moment, so it's definitely worth a visit.
By the way, the brand new range is the Marauder Mini 2, the successor to my absolute favorite flashlight, the Marauder Mini.
Now here with a lot more woom, 10,000 lumens, there is a floodlight mode.
From there you get into the new mode, which is a combination of floodlight and beam.
And last but not least, the beam as a single unit.
And with that you can definitely get really far.
Of course, there are many other cool lamps, such as the Perun 3 Mini here,
which also works wonderfully as a headlamp with a supplied headband and this charging case here.
Or, for example, the O-Lantern with its beautiful warm light, which gives off a perfect camping lamp.
Check out the offers from Olight yourself. I'll put the link in the video description at the top.
There are also two discount codes, namely Buddy 15, with which you can save 15 euros on your order from 119 euros.
And Buddy 25, with which you can save a total of 25 euros on your order from a value of 199 euros.
All further information, as always, in the video description below.
And I would say we start with the last part of the bike tour.
A few weeks ago I started my first multi-day solo bike tour.
In the next 7 to 10 days, it should be about 1000 kilometers from Hamburg to Stochholm.
But not only that I will be on this tour alone for the first time.
Right next to it, I started a little self-experiment.
During the time of the trip, I will completely give up on my social contacts and any distractions for the first time.
No cell phone, only for navigation and filming.
No social media, no headphones, no music.
Only the bike, my thoughts and me.
Somehow it's a very special feeling to start now.
I think there will be a very special time for me in the next few days.
In this fast-paced time, in which we can simply scroll our thoughts away
and being alone and bored have become our biggest enemy,
I'm curious what that will do to me.
Do you know what it's called when you've understood that?
Life!
After my start in Hamburg, the road led me along the Baltic Sea to Fehmarn,
where I took the ferry to Rødbyhorn in Denmark.
Along beautiful alleys it went on, over dirt roads, country roads and countless bridges.
With the ferry it went over a short time later to Helsingborg in Sweden.
So, 20 minutes later, we are in Sweden.
Hey, hey, from Sverige.
Again, over endless lonely streets and past huge lakes,
the road led me to a mysterious place deep in the Swedish forests.
No matter where you go, no matter where you look,
there are car wrecks all over the road.
Completely eaten up by the rust,
all car doors already hung into the trees.
It looks a bit like a storm.
Here we go!
Dude, it's really wavy here!
Dude, crazy!
I almost collided with a deer.
Dude, that was five meters in front of me.
We did it!
And the GoPro is about to turn off again.
The next morning came faster than expected.
And slightly off track and marked by the evening before, I got to work.
In the meantime, packing bags had become routine.
Just a short time to get the bike out of the grossest pollution
and then it could go on.
A new day breaks out in Sweden.
The sky is a little bit cleared up, still very cloudy,
but you can at least see the sun a little bit behind the clouds.
The rain has gone away and the storm on the coast,
the guy from the hotel said,
there should have been a really strong storm on the coast.
You only noticed the outbursts here,
but they were enough for me, I'm honest.
We spent the night in Mariannelund.
That was pretty good,
because that's how I could dry my things all at once.
Without that, that would have been real death today.
Yes, day 7.
Without contact with the outside world, let's say.
Without social media,
without contact with friends, family.
And I have to say, cool.
I have to say, I actually miss the contact with social media less.
What I miss, I've mentioned it before,
is the contact with my environment.
It's not like that now.
I had already said that I somehow feel lonely, like at the beginning.
But I am very happy to report my narrowest circle of this trip
and just to hear what's new with them.
And to exchange ideas.
I'm really looking forward to it, I have to say.
I also have to say, this week feels so incredibly long to me.
When I think about where I've been all along.
A week at home in the four walls can somehow pass by super quickly.
And looking back, somehow everything always went by quickly.
But it seems so incredibly long to me.
But not in a negative sense.
In any case, a time, I think,
when you become more aware of
what is so important to you personally in life.
And I am very grateful for that.
In this moment I remembered a few days before.
On the evening when I was completely desperate.
Felt from the feeling of deep loneliness.
I had questioned the whole experiment, the whole journey.
A lot of time has passed since then.
At least that's how it feels.
Good thing I didn't decide to retire that evening.
I thought, all the important insights,
all the feelings would otherwise have been hidden from me.
Isn't it strange how often we choose the easy, familiar path out of convenience?
Whether physically or mentally.
We hide in our inner four walls.
And build our own little well-being oasis there over the years.
I don't want to say that this is necessarily bad.
But sometimes, very quietly and unnoticed,
this oasis turns into a prison.
A prison in which we are both inmates and guards.
And the longer we linger in it,
the better we become at convincing ourselves
that everything should stay as it is.
Our heart beats faster.
However, it has become quieter.
Always quieter.
But only the heart knows the right way.
The Rain
The rain held back on this day.
And it went on in a relaxed way.
Through empty streets and small villages.
Anyway, I had the feeling
that nothing could have suppressed the mood on this tour.
After a short break at a small supermarket,
life had a different plan than I did.
It's time, guys.
And you're here live.
I was just wondering what was clacking on my tire.
I'm still keeping my finger on it.
Well.
Rip.
It's already hissing.
You probably can't hear it now.
But I can hear it.
Nice, we got that too.
Drive a little further, somewhere on the edge.
And then we can unpack a new hose.
It must have happened somewhere at the supermarket, I guess.
Yes, there is definitely a lot going on.
Yesterday rain, today flat tires.
Can't do anything about it.
Well, always try to see the best.
Thank God it didn't happen last night.
Last night.
In the rain, in the forest.
But someone loved me there.
Rain.
Nice.
It really can't be true.
That it's still starting to rain now.
It's a joke.
Well, the joke should actually come now.
We don't have a flat anymore, but we have a new problem.
And I have to take a look at that right now.
I put my bike here on the side of a tree.
Shit.
Yes, now we have a real problem.
That's not original.
That's not supposed to hang and wobble like that.
Well, the part actually belongs here.
And it just broke off.
No more tape will help.
And I know the first thing that will come now.
And that's true.
You don't put your bike on this side.
You're right.
You don't put it on the side of the switch.
But it was all too much with the rain and everything at the same time.
I just wanted to change the hose quickly.
You don't expect that.
That must have already been broken or something.
I already have yesterday evening.
I don't think the part has ever been replaced.
And now it's time.
In the middle of Sweden.
On this country road.
Thank God not yesterday evening in the mud.
But now I'm sitting here.
I just don't realize that this has just happened.
I've had shifting problems since yesterday.
Maybe it was already cracked or something.
And that gave him the rest now.
Because I couldn't shift the highest gear anymore.
And not the lowest either.
There was already something wrong.
And that was the stroke of grace now.
Since I wasn't too far from the last little village yet.
I decided to walk back a few kilometers.
And look for a way to get to the next bigger city.
I'll tell you guys.
This is exactly where it happened.
I had my bike behind it.
You saw it.
And somehow such a plug must have fallen off here.
And that's what caused the hole.
The moral of the story.
Nails stay hanging.
Keep that in mind.
If you hang something with a nail next time.
So.
Situation discussion.
There are two news.
A good one and a bad one.
First the good one.
There is a bus.
Then the bad one.
He only drives twice on Sundays.
And that's early in the morning and in the evening.
The next bus leaves at 5.46 p.m.
That means there are still about four hours to go.
And there is no other option.
I could run off.
I've already thought about it and looked.
But when I run off, I'm actually there with the bus in time.
This bus then drives from here to the next bigger village.
And from there there is a connection to the next bigger city.
And there are also bike shops.
I'll probably be there sooner or later in the late evening.
If all goes well.
Accordingly, I will look for a bike shop there tomorrow morning.
And then let's see if the problem can be solved so quickly.
Now it's starting to rain again.
I actually made myself comfortable here.
In such a nice little brook.
And wanted to cook something here.
But nothing.
Doesn't want the way I want it.
Yes, I'm looking for another spot now.
In the next few hours I had a lot of time to think.
Not that it would have been different in the last few days.
But at that moment the thought occupied me.
What if this is the end of the tour?
Yes, I was happy to be able to be closer to my closest environment again.
But somehow, now that everything seemed so close.
It became clear to me that my little journey would end soon.
No matter which way.
Because Stockholm was only about 250 kilometers away.
Time is something strange, isn't it?
Sometimes you think it just wouldn't pass.
And the next moment you wonder where it went so fast.
A little sad I thought of the past few days.
Seven days full of emotions and events.
Seven days that seemed like an eternity to me.
And yet, like a blink of an eye, have passed.
So guys.
We actually made it.
We arrived in Linköping.
Unbelievable.
Waiting all day was worth it.
The bus has arrived.
And yes, we are even at the right destination.
Good thing I took off my bags.
Yes, now all that remains is to wait.
Tomorrow morning I will drive directly to the bicycle workshop.
I picked out three of them.
And let's see what they say.
Whether this thing can still be saved.
Or how it goes on.
It would make me a little sad if the journey would end here.
Seven of the three bicycle shops were sold.
Unfortunately, none of them could help me with the fast one.
The part is a special component.
Which no one had on site.
And also not be able to get in the next few days.
After three hours and several kilometers on foot through the city.
I had pretty much every bicycle shop through.
Well, I had seen a lot of Linköping for that.
Yes guys.
It can go that fast.
Just on the Swedish country road.
And half an hour later.
You sit somewhere at the train station.
There is the Rödelbock.
My whole stuff, my bag and pack.
Yes guys, what can I say.
The journey ends here.
For myself, this tour was definitely much more than just a bicycle tour.
And once again it showed me how unplanned life is on the one hand.
And that you should simply make the best of the moment.
The way they come.
We only have a limited influence on the outside world, on everything around us.
But on everything that is inside of us and our reactions to it.
And how we see things, what we do with it.
That is really in our power.
That is inside of us.
And I think you should concentrate on that much more often.
The lack of contact with my phone has helped me a lot.
Because you are often in situations where you feel bored.
You are scrolling a lot.
You often get lost in things.
And that is a kind of escape from boredom.
And I think these are the moments where our mind goes crazy.
Where our thoughts come up.
And you can hear what your heart wants.
Before it gets emotional again.
With a laughing and crying eye I say goodbye.
See you next time.
Until then.
Bye.
Well, that's it.
Different than I imagined.
Not as planned the journey ended.
And yet there was this fulfilled feeling of satisfaction in me.
I would lie if I said that this realization came from one week of cycling.
And I am sure that I have not yet reached the end of my journey.
For a long time I had the feeling of having to be someone.
Especially.
Funny.
Loud.
To have to prove something.
Probably each of us goes this way of self-discovery in the course of life.
It took years.
But looking back, something was different.
Not the world out there.
It is still loud.
Fast.
And unpredictable.
But in me it was quiet enough again to listen.
I felt the wind on my skin.
Heard the rustling of the leaves.
The distant call of a bird.
And I realized that I was never really alone.
It's the little things that make you feel this way
Don't let their words fill you up with doubt
Lift your head and watch your dreams branch out
Don't you give up now
You have made your vows
You might not but you will find the key
Feel your soul arise
From that spark in your eyes
Watch it come alive
This is your destiny
Life does not follow a fixed plan.
It challenges us.
Surprises us.
Brings us to our limits.
And I believe that true freedom is in recognizing and accepting this.
At some point we forgot that we are not separated from this world.
But in constant connection with it.
Our eyes have become dim.
From striving for more.
And we overlook what surrounds us.
The miracle of simple existence.
But this miracle lies in each of us.
At every second.
In every moment.
In every person.
In every animal.
In every tree.
And in everything else that surrounds us.
Open your heart to the world.
And you will realize that the key to happiness has always been there.
It lies in you.
In every moment.
In every breath.
In the ability to see everything in this world as a small miracle.
Don't you give up now
You have made your vow
You might not but you will find the key
Feel your soul arise
Feel that spark in your eyes
Watch it come alive
This is your destiny
When your hope fades away
Don't you lose heart to your strides
Keep your dreams in your sight
Hold on with all your might
Stay strong
Keep moving on
Don't you give up now
You have made your vows
You might not know how
But you will find the key
Feel your soul arise
Feel that spark in your eyes
Watch it come alive
This is your destiny
