Well welcome to a new Harry's Garage video and you find us not in the garage but in Barcelona.
I'm near Terminal 2, there is a truck behind me, EM Rogers, and this is going to be a road trip
special because it's February. We've had the most miserable winter in the UK, will not stop raining
and I just want to get on doing some road trips. So we are in Spain and we're going to do a road
trip down the coast, weirdly sort of Alicante Benidorm, yes really, down that way because the
weather down here in February is extraordinary and particularly this year it's 21 degrees. I'll go
through the route in a moment but yeah if you just come down here you can see what's been going on.
So it was one of the things was there's a group of three of us and I'll explain later why we've
actually sort of transported the cars down here rather than driving. If you actually do the math
to get to this point it's about 1250 miles from home so two and a half thousand mile round trip
and I think it's a great idea using a truck to bring the cars down. You'll look over here and
you'll see the two cars I've brought with us this year. So yeah, Jaguar Project 7, no problem, it's
one of my favourites for doing road trips in. We're chasing the sun, I wanted a convertible
and the Countach. Now the Countach was not meant to be here, this trip was actually going to be
the Ferrari Testarossa and I felt after doing all that work the Ferrari Testarossa just makes a good
road trip sort of car because it's a GT, it's comfortable, I've got a friend with me,
we'll be swapping cars and it has a reasonable size boot and we just had that refresh done,
done the paint, dug that engine out, did the cam belts and everything and I just drove it a few
weeks ago and I heard the clutch release bearing singing which was really annoying. So each time
you press the clutch as it sort of will and I thought I can't drive it like this. I had a clutch
in it only four thousand miles ago and anyway two weeks ago it went in and they checked the
clutch, yes it was gone, I had to replace it and they also noticed a slight weep on the slave
cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, which when you press the clutch it then operates the clutch.
So I got that changed as well. Then the lorry was coming, they got picked up two days ago,
I went to put just one or two bags in the Testarossa about an hour before the lorry's due
to pick them up and there was a pool of clutch fluid on the floor, couldn't believe it, and the
reservoir had gone down, they'd put new seals in, for whatever reason the seals had failed. So with
one hour's notice I said oh what do I take? It was a toss-up between my little Zagato or the
Kuntas, but I've got in my head I was taking one of the big bangers. So the Kuntas, this is
unprepped, I've driven it once or twice since it came back from Ian Tyrrell doing all the workshops,
so I've checked the tyre pressures, checked oil and water, put some fuel in it and the Kuntas is
pressed into service. So the downside of that is having quite a small boot so we've had to pack
particularly lightly, prep on the Jaguar 7, well nothing really, it came back from a suit as I say
didn't really get much use last year. Always the challenge of how much boot space there is in this
car, but I think we'll cope. The great thing, if you transport the cars down you can pre-pack the
cars so you only sort of fly out, we flew out here and it's just hand luggage. I also had some
tyres put on it, I've had some Pirelli P Zero tyres put on it because I just noticed on the
dates, they were getting nearly 10 years old, you forget this car, I had it in 2015 so the tyres
that went on it were late 2014 because it was an early build car, it's nearly 10 years old, how did
that happen? So there are our bags, my friends are going to be here in about 20 minutes but yeah I'll
show you, quickly show you what we're going to do. The other car I nearly thought about bringing was
the Porsche, my turbo, but I felt that had been to Spain before so it should be somewhere else,
I'm actually quite excited about bringing the Kuntas. Right, what we are doing on this road
trip, we're in Barcelona up there and the first stop, we come down basically, it's just going to
be motorway the first, but I want to head up into the hills here, this is where we're
staying, there's some great roads around here, you always see if there's green on a Michelin map, you
just see that's a good place, good roads and I've got a special app, I'm going to show you how you
pick up great roads and then there's going to be a part two to this road trip because after exploring
there we then get on a ferry in Denia and we're off to Palma and we're going to be in Mallorca
and I just can't wait to get a Kuntas racking around the great roads in Mallorca as well,
but yeah should be fun and I can't believe the weather after all the rain, we set off
chucking it down with rain, I don't want to drive these cars two and a half thousand miles down here
in that sort of weather, but here in Spain not a breath of wind. One last thing, in Barcelona, we
stayed in Barcelona last night, I stayed, I'm very lucky to be a member of Soro House, they have a
wonderful hotel that's right on the quay and what is happening 22nd of August, if I just peel that
back you'll see that the America's Cup is coming to Barcelona and it's in August, well it starts
22nd of August and goes the final is in October, look at the website if you want all the details,
but what a place to stay that's going to be in a few months time. Anyway, pack up the cars,
go head out, see what we're going to see.
Yeah, first stop, so warm, it's about 20 degrees out there, all is good, except one of my memory
cars and my camera got full, I didn't realise it was full, which is a slight dilemma. Yes,
a drink, I'm letting John lead in the Project 7, it makes life a lot easier on the navigation.
Right, get myself organised, there's no cupholders in a Cuntas, that's before they were invented,
visibility isn't the greatest in a Cuntas, but the view out the front's great
and the soundtrack's pretty good as well.
Yeah, 300 miles to go and then tomorrow are the fun bits of road, can't wait,
go for a motorway cruise if you can do such a thing in a Cuntas and there's no gearbox sound,
there's nothing to listen to, which is a huge change since the last time I did a trip in this
car. First fill up, I filled it up with sustain fuel before setting off but I don't think I got
it the tank full, so yeah, first fill up, at least it got super leaded, I'm not sure, 185 euros a
litre, it's not, it's pretty similar isn't it, that's about 170 equivalent in sterling, I think,
yeah this is not on, yeah it's very odd, it's a funny, it's got two tanks on a Cuntas
with a little tiny pipe that joins them together and it's a devil to fill the tanks on them
and it's very frustrating, you go like this, you just click click click for about 10 minutes and
you get in and you've got three quarters of a tank, anyway we're putting a fair bit in.
That's the motorway stretch done and we're turning off at the turning for
Benidorm, the last place I thought I'd ever visit in a Lamborghini Cuntas, there we are,
it's just a motorway slog but it does get quite pretty near the end, it's sort of just a bit more
scenic, a few curves, through a few tunnels, that sort of thing, but yeah a lot of trucks,
more trucks than we all expected, yeah you just shoot along, you're doing sort of 130 clicks
indicated, something like that, but every now and then you have to slow for all the trucks,
but yeah we're only, we're 13 miles away from where we're staying tonight.
I also did a noise test, I was intrigued just how noisy the Cuntas was and it is noisy, it was 86,
87 decibels in here, so yeah I think that's probably the noisiest car I've tested but I was
going a little bit over 60 miles an hour at the time, I've sort of got to concentrate but the
skyline is so Benidorm, yeah all the skyscrapers over there you might, well not exactly skyscrapers
but big hotels all down there, this is where all the action is,
and we're heading up into those hills over there, so a very different part of the world.
Designed for adults, beautiful valley, very different to last night's hotel,
reception, landscape hotels, well we have arrived, I've got to find a parking space now,
I'm not electric and I'm not disabled yet, so I can't park, we're down the front but we'll find
another spot and yeah, good day, you'll catch us later when we've all unpacked and we'll tell you
what's happening tomorrow. Well morning, well welcome to Vivid, this is where we've stayed
the last couple of days, Vivid Landscape Hotel, quite a crazy place and you have this incredible
vista down this valley and it's quite an interesting hotel this one because you each have
sort of individual sort of cabins or rooms and it's like a pod on stilts and we're at the top
of the hill, it was a fairly modest pod but I thought it was really very good and my friends
stayed in their villa option that they have here, oh my goodness it's ridiculous, it's this sort of
walk-in giant pod and you go down to a basement where the bedroom is and bathrooms and things
and then upstairs is sort of kitchen area and then there's another area with a sort of jacuzzi
pool whatever and in a veranda sitting out area but yeah, a very interesting place to stay.
We went out yesterday just to try the roads in the Project 7 because what I want to show you today
is there's an app on my phone and it's a very clever app, I think it's German-based
and it's for motorcyclists and they put on the best roads they've been on in certain areas so
it loads up this database of really good roads. There it is, Kadomoto, open it up and it's basically
discover rides or near my location it will actually show you some of the great roads and rides around
here. I think it's really clever this so if I go to map I can go there and I can do new ride
and I can do if you're staying somewhere and you want to try where you want to be you can go to
there you say do a circular round trip from your hotel to somewhere on there you can decide how
long a round trip you want we're not doing that I'm going to do a tour so I'm going to go plan
tour and then I will add some waypoints so start current location these I just show you this is
where we are and the highlighted rows are sort of red are are the really good driving roads
there we are all there so it will try and knit together not unlike google maps that will just
plan the quickest route or alternatives this one will actually bring you the best most exciting
so what I want to do today I want to go there first and then I'm going to add another
waypoint so I've added that one I'm going to put another one on
there's a market here we'd quite like to visit and then I put the final destination of Denia
there we go and it's telling me that's a 60 mile route 1 hour 43 and there are 109
bends on the route so I can that is the route away from our hotel so that's what we're going
to do today head up this way go and enjoy some of the great roads drop by where I get to number two
drop by a market there Sunday market and then head down to the coast but it's uh yeah I think
it's an interesting route if you're on these sort of driving holidays that's a very good app to have
there is a premium for it right but the next first job though is the packing challenge for the Kuntas
it's a very useful pod in there if you look at the boot there's a little protective side
screen if you have a Kuntas and it's normally there if you take it out you can then put a
bag down in the wing like that which is really handy another little top tip if you're on travels
these naked protein bars if you want a snack in the car naked are worth sort of searching out
because there is no crumbs no nothing what annoys me in yeah if you're eating crisps or something
that bites or something with chocolate in a car really bad idea these are sort of fruit bar
compressed impossible to have a crumb or drop anything in the car so yeah naked protein bars
are good on a road trip what else have I got to get in there my bag the secret boot on a Kuntas is
that and that's really handy the trouble is it's not waterproof so I just keep clean material
the tools and that sort of thing in there well I can sneak an extra bag in there because it
should be dry today and then I put that one on top there we go just coats to put away
and we can get going
in Kuntas if it in the steering you can't mute my car I can just about hold it with one hand
to hold the steering wheel and get it around the corners
you don't really gain you just be going too quick in the corners and then if it
breaks it's wrestling the steering it's quite a physical workout on a road like this
catch out yeah anything apart from well basically motorcyclists coming they were coming down and a
cyclist as well this is where I saw the professional teams
stay here
it's so honest this car but the steering loads are quite something
970 meters nearly a thousand meters
such a workout in this car I'd like to change gear but I can't let go of the wheel
um
yeah we're just visiting the local market it looks very active
down here and we got spotted at somewhere to park we just have a look here obviously we're in a
long Lamborghini I think this is why the guy wanted me to park here look at his make of
tractor it's also a Lamborghini so yeah very fitting have a Lamborghini tractor next to the
Kuntas yeah amazing market absolutely rammed on on every Saturday apparently all sorts of stuff
there's furniture in there lots of cars and toy cars tools nothing we could really fit in a Kuntas
though but uh yeah we're now we're just making our way to the ferry but I think the highlight is
going to be parking next to a Lamborghini tractor never expected to do that I think it made his day
we're in the queue for the ferry but while we're sat here uh the ferry leaves in an hour and 20
minutes I thought I'd just run through the sort of man maps of why we had the cars transported
over rather than driving them from the UK I said earlier weather etc but the cost implications
are worth looking at and on an arctic that brought the the cars across in actual fact
there were just the three cars on there and the sweet spot is if you can gather together
six cars because that's what an arctic takes and then it becomes very economic to do
because your the cost for the actual truck is about four and a half thousand each way
so from picking up in Oxford taking to uh Barcelona four and a half thousand four thousand
back and then a customs charge of around 400 450 so if you were to do six cars you would be
1900 pounds total cost to have your car brought from your home to Barcelona so you fly into
Barcelona airport cars are ready and waiting off you go and that's two and a half thousand miles
saved running your car now in a Countach at 17 mpg it's probably 12 1300 pounds in fuel in the
p7 which is better on fuel it's about 800 pounds but then you've got to add on the eurotunnel
150 200 pounds minimum nearer 300 in higher season you're then not going to drive 1250
miles in one hit so you're then going to stay the night in a hotel and there's added costs there
and it soon adds up and hang on a minute 2000 pounds doesn't sound quite so bad as I thought
it was if you do the ferry across Portsmouth Bilbao or something it's more money than you
might imagine with a cabin you're up to 1200 pounds return something like that and yeah it
I'm it's always surprising how much it costs with the three cars we didn't fully fill an arctic
we paid about 9 000 pounds all in for three cars so 3 000 pounds each including the customs which
is yeah more but we only had three cars I wanted to bring across I use EM Rogers because they're
so busy they have so many trucks everything's a non-issue to them and they do this run every
single day amazing the number they do a lot with a lot of manufacturers and the other thing to
consider if you are caring about emissions and things a truck does about 12 mpg 12 to 13 mpg
you put six cars on there and you bring them two and a half thousand miles there and back you would
have to have a car if you're one of six doing 72 mpg to match the amount of fuel used by one truck
bringing six cars that distance so there's a sort of another factor there if you want to put it in
I like it because it keeps the marriage down the car so it saves two and a half thousand miles wear
and tear and service intervals so there you go there's a bit of man maps why I use a truck to do
that sort of distance and at this time of year I just don't want to experience the grotty weather
risk in February in the UK and northern France and over the Pyrenees I just arrive sunny weather
get out of the cars go and join myself put it on the truck and fly home yeah you have to put
flights in there but actually they're quite cheap flights to Barcelona there's lots of people who
fly there and 50-60 pounds each way is quite easy to do but anyway we're going to hang around
another hour and we'll be on a ferry to Palma well morning from Palma in Mallorca and a beautiful
hotel we're in the Hospice Maricel here right by the sea it is absolutely stunning walk through
those doors over the veranda and you just have to see it's beautiful day not a cloud in the sky
it's uh yeah 10 to 12 it's about 18 90 degrees and very very nice so yeah we arrived on the ferry
last night quarter past 10 something like that it's a five hour crossing all fairly comfortable
and went straight to the hotel here last night so only this hotel was only I think it was nine
minutes from the ferry terminal so it couldn't be better and what I'm going to do today I'm going
to give the Countach a bit of a rest worked hard yesterday and we just hijacked the project 7
I've literally just taken the roof off looking a bit grubby because we actually went out in all
that rain a couple of days ago just to check the route but yeah I'm really looking forward to today
we'll see if we can give it a little cleanup later so today well you just can't go wrong
on this island let me look at there is just the most amazing roads it's just on a map
we're in Palma stunning all this west coast is done a lot of car launches are done here
and a very good reason one you've got the weather etc but I'm going to go back to my Calimoto app
and just show you how it works here if I just flick on here and it says near my location when
you open it up and it's rides that is an epic ride you see it's got um yeah five for fun five
for scenery five for road condition it doesn't get any better if I open it up that is sort of
the route so Palma all the way down up here as I say you cannot go wrong with the sort of views
you get on this route against the sea that for a bit of road amazing amazing bit of road around here
and if I go back to that route 119 miles four hours 36 minutes quite a long way so I'm going
sort of cherry pick today but yeah we're going to head out of here see what those roads are like
see how busy it is out there it's a cycling mecca obviously in Mallorca as well as I say being a
Sunday let's go and see just drove out the hotel within a kilometer there was a place to wash the
car so I have quickly washed the car I put the Calimoto on my phone set it going and you actually
get a readout and it actually goes to carplay which is really handy so we're straight on it
as soon as we come out the hotel so yeah where will we do the whole route today I don't know
but we're certainly going to set off and glorious day for it we've just actually tweaked where we're
heading so I've cut through the middle put in so that this is just typical you just click around
there was a tunnel approaching just on the main road suddenly told me to get off the road and take
the road we're now on which is over the top rather than using the tunnel which is typical of this
Calimoto app that it's obvious every every other navigation device will take you through the tunnel
of course but this will actually take you up this crazy bit of road now I don't know how narrow it's
going to be but it's quite fun look at it you just want to swing round
they're quite random these tunnels no warning go around the corner straight through a solid hill of
rock have a little stop yes we are on this little tiny green road down here I wish I'd got a bigger
scale map but Palencia is the sort of end destination but yeah we're right up in the
hills it's quite a variable road some moments you think oh this is good and it's wider than
you expect and then we went through this tunnel complete the surprise right at the very top of
this pass and then down the other side it really got quite narrow and I got behind two or three
cyclists who were bombing down 60 70 clicks on the way down and there was nothing we could do and it
was only just wide enough to pass cars along there no chance of getting past the cyclists but they
pretty quick anyway so yeah it's a I mean it's a stunning area but on a Sunday my goodness it's
busy and you catch these gangs of cyclists up and there's yeah there's nothing you can do about it
but I think if I lived here I'd be enjoying it just as much as they would on a bike or something
but it's nice being in this and open and just enjoying the heat and the warmth although we
did see about 14 degrees at the top but compared to the UK in February that's still not bad at the
degrees and every now and then you stumble across these sort of reservoirs
very pretty scenery though properly in the middle of nowhere
goats and things appear at every now and then as well anyway we'll press on and see what else this
road has got to offer it's the ma10 if you look on a map I'm very glad I'm not in the
countach on a road like this it'd be quite a challenge in that car at least in this you're
sort of in the open you can hear actually other cars coming it's very few cars he says speak of the devil
well morning welcome to day two on Mallorca on this lovely trip to this incredible island and
blessed with this weather in February I keep having to pinch ourselves that it's February
and we're getting a bit of a suntan yesterday yeah those roads yesterday they were quite
challenging I am so pleased that I only took the project seven up there we sort of did a recce for
what we're going to do today that countach would have struggled up there I would have ended up very
grumpy and with some very strong arms trying to get around some of those banes and they're just
so tight and all those cyclists I was pre-warned that they were a bit testing the roads around here
they're not a sort of dynamic sort of roads those I hope we're going to see today and what yeah I'll
show you what we've done on here it's a beautiful bay we're in here it's completely calm we just
watched a plane I thought it was going to scoop up water one of those fire protection planes just
doing a sort of practice run down here I think yeah it's just I can just see it on it's landed
on the water but we went up from Palma yesterday and we went towards up here there was a tunnel
and that's where we sort of dived off the main road and headed up into the hills crazy bit of
road then dropped down and then took this it's the MC10 MA10 which is this road here
too challenging really too crowded and we bottled out there at Inca let's see we came down to Inca
yesterday and came back to the hotel really nice I think some guys have yeah recognized the countach
we're getting there the countach does surprise people an unseen car on the roads of everywhere
really not just here anyway where are we yeah so we go down there we go today what we've just done
we've driven up here of Cuda up here and then we're just going to drive along we're by this
bay here beautiful bay and just go into I'm not sure how far we'll actually get out to the
lighthouse but basically it's up up there the roads again are going to be quite challenging
but John who's in the my project 7 holiday here and he just wants to revisit it we'll see how it
is after that though we're then heading more to the east of the island we're going to head down
here because this is pretty soon this is cliffs I think this is where the car launches happen over
this side so this map was not behaving but manacor would come along the coast down to manacor
go back to the hotel just have a look at some more roads in this area but um yeah moment we're just
going to yeah enjoy this sort of stillness about half 11 in the morning not a breath of wind a
bit more sun would be nice but it's 17 18 degrees so we're not complaining
it's pandemonium up here there's no space I would not visit here in a car if you're into bikes and
you want to cycle up here fine but yeah it's just not made for the number of people who want to come
up here unfortunately just a disaster I've been slightly mean I've kicked John out of the project
which he's never driven before so uh I think he's out he's gonna have a little workout
it's very heavy all the controls on it and it's a shock if you've actually been driving a thing
with power steering automatic gearbox I mean it's part of the sensation of it it's part of the fun
of it it is so physical so raw you have to control this mad car here cruise easy all very nice but
we've got yeah 57 minutes and then we're on the other side island 35 miles away
we've come to the other side of the island the roads have completely changed they're big and
open some really quick roads like being in France got a tractor up ahead I've got the
contrast and everyone behind but yeah a bit more of a road trip we've just been down by the coast
very pretty I just cannot get over how different one side of Yorker is to the other side yesterday
all those super twisty super narrow roads now today come over to the east side of the island
big fast open roads sort of sweeping bends very much as I say like being in south of France
and relatively empty over here less tourists and less cyclists it's not quite as suited to what
cyclists want they want the hills they want the challenge of the climbs and that sort of thing
but it's a welcome relief I think we're just heading up into some hills here if you look
as I've got Calimoto on again and yeah it looks like it's taken us off the main road after this
roundabout and there's a little set of twisties just coming up you can choose to ignore them and
just go straight on you can see this road does actually go straight on but I'm because you know
I just want to have a look and how this app works I think I'll take the little twisty route
see what it's like
well morning we're making our way out of Valencia
quite a lot has happened since you last joined us last time we were in Mallorca and we did some
routes there and then we had to catch an early morning ferry away from the hotel from Parma
into Valencia and I think it's good time just to summarise what we found with all the roads and
what we've experienced over the last few days yeah Mallorca was was interesting I had hoped
that Calimoto app was going to find me some fantastic roads out there but that Sunday we
went out and did the famous MA10 well yeah that was pretty crowded and I have to say a bit of a
disappointment here there was just no real chance to stretch the project seven legs a lot of
cyclists out there roads were twisty beyond belief and narrow so you just couldn't risk it very
scenic very beautiful but not really the dynamic roads I was looking for I was very glad we then
headed east and the big bigger roads over there wider much more suited and there are pockets of
great bits of road out there but it is not sort of festoon everywhere every road you tackle is just
fantastic it's not like that in Mallorca so a slight disappointment really I know they're there
I've done them on car launches and that sort of thing road-wise those roads in the hills above
Benidorm they were fabulous and that Calimoto app just was festoon with roads you could do
and really good roads great little towns villages to visit along the way and that was
that was the hit of this road trip I think was discovering that area it's an area I would love
to go back to anyway we took the ferry out of Palma it's almost all day we arrive in Valencia
about a half past six it's quite an industrial port and Valencia though was a bit of surprise
a really nice vibe to it a proper city we stayed in a in a city hotel part of the same group as
we were staying in Palma and my boy it was it challenging it was not Cuntas friendly hotel at
lots of sort of cycleway pathways one-way systems crowded with traffic tiny little
roads and then the parking was a serious challenge drop down into an underground car
park they did have private parking but yeah I'd much rather have been in the Zag than in the Cuntas
but anyway we stayed there and that's where we left this morning I think I also ought to run
through the cars as well I was asking John how he'd found the Project 7 and we're trying to
discuss I really enjoy the car I should say hands up I love a roadster proper car like that I just
find it really enjoyable and especially one with near 600 horsepower it makes a very exciting
combination but we're trying to think of something you know that we didn't enjoy quite so much
and I suppose the only thing we could really come up with was obviously the fiddly roof but it
it goes with the territories the same as a Porsche Spyder or like you know I had that Ferrari 550
Barchetta that had a bloody awful roof until I swapped it but the roof on the Project 7 that
I quite enjoy it because it's fully waterproof and you can go 130 mile an hour plus with it
with no issues I have tried this and can confirm that it's absolutely true and it's super light
and it's what gives that car its dynamics it's probably 15 80 kilos 70 80 kilos having that
mechanical roof means it drops 50 60 kilos over a standard f-type and then he cuts then he has
a cut down screen all the rest of it and that weight well it's only about 80 90 kilos heavier
than a Lotus Emira but it's got 50 more power and torque so it's a very exciting thing so yeah
the roof yeah downsize and upsize the other thing we thought well when it's all sort of backed off
and in normal mode it could be an automatic it could almost describe it as being a bit ordinary
but when you're in Valencia and you're trying to find a hotel that's a good thing but it's
surprising how mellow and quiet it goes but then you light it up put it in dynamic turn
traction controls off and you have an absolute animal of a roadster. In terms of the Ducuntas
well that's just mad all the time it has no easy zone it's just full on from the moment you turn
the key well probably the moment you actually sort of walk up to it and just look at its design
it is crazy and that's sort of what I love about it it is full on and you enjoy its engine you
enjoy its performance but everything's heavy heavy steering heavy brakes heavy gear change heavy
throttle action everything so it never gives up on that it never calms down so you've got to be
aware of that with this car but I think it gives real highs and when it's wound up wow does it
sound good and so yeah I really like the Ducuntas for its wild side but at no point does it relax.
Oddly both John and yeah quite really surprisingly comfortable this car people say they're
uncomfortable we find the seats terrific good driving position weirdly lots of space good
oddments easy to store so yeah that's that's the Ducuntas and then there was one more car and that
was our friend Nigel and he has a lovely 89 Porsche 911 convertible we persuaded him to buy that last
year great example it's only 35 36 000 miles from you straightforward electric roof just hit a button
down it goes no catches no nothing and it's just the most versatile car you can it can do the
easiness it's got five-speed gearbox that one g50 lots of space in it because you've got the rear
seat so you can bung an extra bag or two there so much space they actually went out to lunch one
time four up in it he's really enjoyed he's really got to like the car on this and then he
do wind it up and it's quicker than you think because those early 911s are much lighter than
they are today so that's that and the final bit I think on this road trip is proving what a great
option it is to transport your cars out here from the moment we pick those cars up from Barcelona
airport it's just fun we can just do the best roads we enjoy this great weather super sunny
we have done if I look at the mileage we're on for one we've done 1100 kilometers so let's say
about 650 miles and we have 100 miles to go to Barcelona airport so yeah it keeps the mileage
down and you get to enjoy it what I found from doing these road trips if you have a big slog
to like here this destination all you remember on the is when you finally get home is the 1250
miles slog back home rather than the juicy bits which is why you did the road trip in the first
place so I love using the lorry for us with just three cars it's a more expensive option it's cost
us three thousand pounds per car but I think it will cost knocking the door of two thousand pounds
in fuel hotels euro tunnel lunches suppers all that sort of thing to bring a car to Barcelona
and take it back home again if you were driving not using a truck if you are in that sweet spot
with six cars on an arctic truck well then you're matching the same cost as you driving there and
back yourself if you're in a car that does 20 25 mpg so yeah a great trip we found the sun we had a
proper temperatures we're in the 20s while we've been out here and it's February I will happily
return to this area of Spain again really enjoyed it I hope you enjoyed this video as well
