Hello, what's your name? I'm Rachel Potter. How old are you? I'm 29.
Where are you from Rachel? Originally from Florida and now I live in Nashville, Tennessee.
What do you do for a living? Well right now I'm a bartender in Nashville. Hey. Why are you a
bartender in Nashville? I've always had a dream to be a country star. So you're familiar with the
music scene? Yes ma'am, sort of. So why do you need the x-factor? Well I'm 29. I'm not a spring
chicken. When there's a lot of 15-year-olds getting record deals, they're maybe overlooking
a 29-year-old. Honey, what's the point of trying to be a spring chicken when you can be a fine wine?
Yeah mama. That's right. Okay. What are you gonna sing? I'm gonna do a country version of
Good luck mama. Thank you.
Somebody, somebody
Every day of my life I work till I ache in my bones
At the end of the day I take all my heart and pay all on my own
I get on my knees and I start to pray Till the tears roll down from my eyes
Somebody, somebody can anybody find me somebody
I try and I try and I try but every time they say I'm going crazy
They say I got a lot of water on my brain I got no common sense and nobody left to blame
Somebody to love, find me
Somebody to love, oh
Can anybody find me somebody to love
Can anybody find me
Oh
My god, Rachel amazing powerful future
Rachel Rachel Rachel
You're just a beast
Thank you
It felt like to me that you've been wanted to give this performance for a long long time to prove the point, right?
Yes, I do prove the point
You know, it's a good performance, but I'm like, can I talk can I go can I go yet like you have the look
You have the best voice that I've heard
This industry is ready for you
Okay, now we have to vote Demi Lovato the easiest yes, I've said in both seasons of the x-factor
Polina season

You've got full big fat yeses
But I can see you want to
Could be bad to you
Oh
That's how I'm feeling when you're next to me I
Got a fever. Tell me what did you do?
Temperature
Now we'll get a ride
If they touch me, that's all
He's laying in karaoke
How are you? I'm fine, thanks. How are you? Alright, thank you. You're pretty. Hi. Leona? Yeah.
Okay, so Leona, tell us something interesting about you. My name is Leona
Lewis. I'm a singer from Hackney, North London. I'm a part-time receptionist but
kind of singing is more my life and I'm here to audition for you guys and I hope
you enjoy it. Do you come from a musical family? My dad's a DJ and my mum's a
dancer, so kind of a performing family. Yeah, yeah. What are you going to sing?
Over the Rainbow. Okay, your own time.
Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
Where troubles, they melt like lemon drops. Oh, way above the chimney tops, that's
where you'll find me, somewhere over the rainbow.
Skies are blue and the dreams that you dare to dream may really do come true.
Thank you. Lulu. That's what it's all about. Yeah, a really nice song. You got the whole
package, I think. Thank you. Simon. Well, it wasn't perfect because she fell off the
melody at certain points, but when it was on, it was absolutely fantastic and a
very good choice of song. Thank you. Paula. Beautiful, beautiful. Thank you. And even,
and I loved your melody choices, even on your, how you improv with it and tone of
your voice, how you colored it up, told a story with it. That's what it is all
about. Yeah. Wait a minute. He says, oh, it wasn't perfect. Hey, pipe down. Leona, you're
good. Yeah. You're good. We like you. You're nice. I just have one thing to say. You have a
really great voice and I think I would have preferred it if you hadn't put all the
little choo-li-li, willy-lilly-lillies on your voice. The Mariah. If you'd have just sang
normally without all of that up and down. The American stuff. I call it, you know.
It's the vocal gymnastics and I would preferred it without the vocal
gymnastics and you just singing it straight without the American cliche.
Do you know why? Because you have the voice to do that. You don't need to do all of that up and
down the scale because you can do it anyway and it's always, do you know what?
Less is more. Yeah. I like your attitude and I love the way you sing. Okay.
Moment of truth. That's what Simon said. Simon, yes or no? Yes. Paula? Yes. Mrs. O? Yes.
And yes. Four yeses. Well done, Kip. That was a good audition. Very good. Bye. Congratulations. Bye, sweetheart.
I don't think I've ever told you I wouldn't be me without you. So, I want you to know
that if the world stopped turning, you'd be in my heart still burning.
Keeping it beating and as long as I'm breathing, then I'm yours.
Before then, I will catch you. There ain't nothing that I wouldn't do.
I'd do anything for you.
Because even if the world stopped turning, you'd be in my heart still burning.
Keeping it beating and as long as I'm breathing, then I
would never give up on us. Never give up on us. Never give up on us.
Never give up on us. Never give up on us.
Hiya, Louie. How are you? I'm not too bad. You were here last year and you got as far as Louie's judges' houses?
I did, yes. And you sent me packing. I did. I did, Carolyn. But you know what? There was something missing.
It was like you were just there. I was. I didn't feel the hunger. When you told me that I wasn't through,
I brushed it off. But it did mean the world to me and it absolutely broke my heart.
What's happened between last year and now? I'll be honest with you, I felt pretty sorry for myself for a few months.
My cousin dragged me out of bed. She plays rugby for England, so I didn't argue with her.
She just told me to stop feeling sorry for myself. Knocked a bit of sense into me.
Reminded me of the fighting Yorkshire lass that I thought I was.
What are you going to sing for us? Emily Sandie's Clown. Okay. Carolyn, good luck. Thanks.
I guess it's funny you're from where you're standing
Because from over here I miss the joy
Clear the way for my clash landing
I've done it again, another numb before you know
And I'd be smiling if I wasn't so desperate
And I'd be patient if I had the time
And I could stop and answer all of your questions
As soon as I find out how to move on from the back of the line
So I'll be your clown behind the glass
Go ahead and laugh, cause it's funny, I would too
If I saw me, I'd be your clown behind the glass
Go ahead and laugh, cause it's funny, I would too
If I saw me, I'd be your clown
Who's your favourite child?
My life's a circle, circle, round in circles
I'm standing there tonight
Thank you, Carolyn.
Carolyn, you're looking better and you're sounding better. I think you've got your confidence back.
I love you.
Whatever Louis thought was missing, I think this year you've got it.
I know you've been through a lot and you've got a lot of pain and hurt.
Every word you made means something and that's very endearing.
And your voice just tops it off. It's just beautiful.
Carolyn, you have an amazing voice, you have an amazing look.
I think the Overs category is going to be incredible.
And I think you are the dark horse of the competition right now. I really do.
Thank you.
Carolyn, I'm going to kick off the votes.
Thanks for coming back. A million percent yes.
Thank you, thank you.
Carolyn, definite yes from me.
Thank you, thank you.
I really want to see you at the live show, so yes from me.
Thank you.
Carolyn Poole, remember that name everybody.
Oh yes, well done.
Confidence is here this year.
That was absolutely fantastic.
I feel so immensely happy.
And I want to cry my eyes out at the same time. It's such a weird feeling.
You did it, babe.
Thank you, babe. I love you.
What's your name?
My name is Aliki and I'm 29.
Tell me a little bit about yourself.
I've been singing ever since I was a little baby.
This has been my dream. I can't believe I'm here today.
Do you think you can win this show?
I will do my best.
I've always learned to fight through different circumstances I've gone through.
Like what, Aliki?
A few years ago, I was diagnosed with focal engephalitis.
What's that?
It's an inflammation of the brain,
which meant that I couldn't speak, read, write, walk.
Wow.
My mum would do everything for me.
She would feed me, bathe me.
Aliki had just finished her first year at university.
Life was just starting for her.
And within the first two weeks of her being back from uni,
her speech was starting to slur.
She was getting confused about simple tasks.
We started to realise that something was going terribly wrong.
We went to seek the doctor's advice and she was diagnosed with encephalitis.
It was a very frightening time.
She couldn't walk.
She couldn't feed herself.
It was really like everything that she'd known had been rubbed away.
The doctors really couldn't say to us,
don't worry, she'll be fine, because they really didn't know if she would be.
It was heartbreaking.
She didn't want to believe that this is how things were going to be.
There was one night, it was just me and Aliki in the hospital room,
so I just started to hum songs that Aliki had enjoyed since she was very young.
And all of a sudden, you just heard this wonderful, clear humming coming from Aliki.
And she just could remember all the tunes, which was absolutely amazing.
It was just a sign.
It was a very gradual recovery.
But she's a very strong young lady.
Music has just been such a big part of her,
and the fact that she could respond to music when she was so very, very poorly,
I think that's made it an extra special part of her life.
I'm very proud of Aliki.
She deserves the world, and I hope she gets it, I really do.
I wish you the best of luck.
Thank you.
Can you see into my eyes like open doors
Leading you down into my core
Where I've become so numb
Without a soul
My spirit's sleeping somewhere cold
Until you find it there and lead it back home
Wake me up inside
Wake me and I'll
Bid my blood to run
Before I come undone
Save me from the nothing I've become
Bring me to life
Frozen inside
Without your touch
Without your love, darling
Only you are the life
Amidst the deathly I've become
Bring me to life
Thank you, Aliki. Amanda, what did you think?
Oh my goodness, me.
I can't imagine what your mum must be thinking,
because that's practically an anthem for her.
The words, bring me back to life, hear my voice.
It was amazing.
So congratulations.
Thank you.
David?
When you came on, I thought,
I hope your voice is as beautiful as how you look,
and it was, it was incredible.
Thank you, thank you.
You're inspiring so many people, you will,
and I'm so glad you came here today.
Oh, thank you ever so much, thank you.
Simon?
Well, you just have a natural talent, Aliki, you know?
That lyric is so poignant,
and there's something about your energy, Aliki,
which is just incredible.
It's a yes.
Yes, absolutely yes.
Thank you.
I love you, it's a yes.
Simon?
Well, let me tell you,
you've got four yeses, congratulations.
Thank you.
Yes, well done, well done.
That was amazing.
Thank you.
She's amazing.
There's something special about her.
