Did Jesus ever refuse to heal anyone? In this teaching, we look at the powerful healing stories where Jesus healed everyone who came to Him—but why miracles were limited in His hometown. Discover how expectancy and belief open the door for you to receive the healing Jesus already bought and paid for with His Blood.
If anyone ever doubted the will of God for healing,
they would have to look no further than the four gospels
to see that Jesus always said yes to healing.
As a matter of fact, there's not one instance
where someone came to Jesus for healing
where he said, no, I'm sorry, it's not my will to heal you.
Come back tomorrow.
Or it's never the will of God to heal you,
just continue to suffer.
And so I just challenge people,
read through the four gospels
and see for yourself that this is so.
God wants his people well.
And you know, the gospels actually contain
so many precious instructions.
I like to say it this way,
it's like having an instruction manual
for how we can receive our healing.
Because when we study how other people receive their healing
and there's so many varieties of different ways
that Jesus healed and so many different things
that Jesus dealt with,
different issues that people were facing,
that if we just study those different accounts,
we'll see eventually certain pointers
that will help us in our journey
to receiving healing for our lives.
Also today, I want to give credit to my pastor,
Nancy Dufresne, who has given so much inspiration to me
over the years along the lines of healing from the Bible.
Now today, we're going to look at a story
in the book of Mark chapter six,
and we're going to start with verse 53.
And this is not actually the account of an individual healing
but it's an account of multitudes of people.
And in verse 53, it says,
when they had crossed over,
they came to the land of Gennesaret and they anchored there.
And when they came out of the boat,
immediately the people recognized him,
ran through that whole surrounding region
and began to carry about on beds
those who were sick to wherever they heard he was.
Now, wherever he entered into villages, cities
or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces
and begged him that they might just touch
the hem of his garment.
And as many as touched him were made whole.
Now you might be wondering,
what can we glean from these four
fairly short verses of scripture?
You're going to see that there are plenty of nuggets here
in this particular passage.
Now, although this doesn't spotlight an individual healing,
I want you to see that it does spotlight faith and healing.
And faith is always important.
It's a great ingredient for receiving healing.
Now, first of all, we see this,
and I think this is one of the most important points today.
We see that the people ran to bring the sick to Jesus.
They ran.
I mean, think about that.
They didn't meander.
They didn't take their sweet time.
They ran.
This shows us expectancy.
You know, expectant people will run.
Expectant people will get somewhere early
and wait in long lines because they want to get in.
I'm longing for the day again
where people are waiting in long lines
just to get into church,
like they do for a concert, for instance,
which is put on by the devil.
So these people, they expected something to happen
when they brought the sick to Jesus.
Do you know, when you go to a church service,
you ought to go expecting to receive something.
When you have someone lay hands on you to receive healing,
expect to receive it.
If you're going to go ahead
and you're going to study the word of God,
expect to receive revelation.
And if you're going to ask God for something in prayer,
expect to receive an answer because I have news for you.
If you're not expecting something,
you're not going to receive something.
You know, those who expect something, receive something.
And those who expect nothing, receive nothing.
And so we see this, that expectancy is everything.
You need to make a decision that when I get to church,
when I turn on one of these video teachings,
I'm expecting to receive something.
Now, here's something we should know about divine healing.
Healing is not a reward.
It's a property that belongs to us in Christ.
Even though we don't earn it though,
it does require our expectancy to receive it.
Now, another element that's necessary
to receive healing is desire.
And we're going to read from Mark 11, 24
from the King James Version.
And Jesus said here,
"'Therefore I say unto you,
"'what things soever you desire, when you pray,
"'believe that you receive them and you shall have them.'"
Now, that word desire here actually in the dictionary
is defined as to covet, whatsoever you covet,
whatsoever you crave, whatsoever you long for,
whatsoever you hunger, when you pray,
believe that you receive it and you shall have it.
So what we see here is we don't see a description
of a passive attitude.
We see a description of an aggressive attitude.
And when you really desire something,
you're not going to approach it half-heartedly.
Amen.
You're not going to be half-hearted when you have desire
because it's not going to get the job done.
You know, here's the problem
with the things of God.
They're not difficult for us to receive,
but we have an enemy.
We have an enemy that's arrayed against us
and he's constantly trying to put obstacles in our path
to keep us from receiving from God.
And I guarantee you this,
the devil is not half-hearted about his opposition.
He is full force, full throttle,
trying to keep us from getting into faith
or staying in faith.
So if you're sick or diseased,
you can't afford to be passive
about your approach to divine healing.
You know, some people have commented to us
over the last year and a half,
why has God made it so difficult to receive healing?
Well, here's the simple answer to that.
God has not made it difficult.
God has made it easy.
The problem is not on God's side.
The problem is that the devil makes it difficult
to receive divine healing.
You know, this is why receiving healing
requires a wholehearted approach.
You cannot be passive.
You have to make a decision,
I'm going to expect to receive.
You have to do what it takes
to keep doubt and unbelief out of your life.
Because if you don't do that,
you'll be swayed by the unbelief
and the strategies of Satan.
Now, this multitude that we read about,
they not only ran,
but they were carrying other people on beds in some cases.
Now think about this.
This was far from convenient.
They didn't have automobiles.
They didn't have trucks.
They didn't have vans.
They probably had to pull them on makeshift beds.
Or if they were fortunate enough to have a cart
or a horse or a donkey,
maybe they could pull them that way.
But it wasn't an easy process
getting them out in the country to the feet of Jesus.
So we see that expectancy moved them to action
when it was inconvenient.
And then we see the end result of their diligence,
as many as touched him were made whole.
Now, this is the opposite of those
from Jesus's own hometown, Nazareth.
And I think it's important that we read this
because you can see the difference between expectancy
and then those that did not expect.
Now, the Bible tells us in Mark chapter six,
verses five and six,
it says Jesus could do no mighty work there,
except that he laid his hands on a few sick people
and healed them.
And he marveled because of their unbelief.
Then he went about the villages in a circuit teaching.
So we see from these stories, from both stories really,
that the preacher is not solely responsible
for the lack of power in a service.
It has everything to do with the people.
If the people refuse to believe,
not only will they not receive,
but they're gonna hinder other people from receiving
because they're polluting the environment.
But if the people are on board,
if they're mostly,
you know, not everybody in the crowd
is gonna be on the same page,
but if they're mostly expectant,
if they're mostly excited,
it affects the whole atmosphere
and so many more people can receive healing.
Now, notice in this particular account,
it says Jesus couldn't,
he could not do any mighty work there.
It did not say that he would not.
Now, this might be a startling statement
for some of you watching.
It wasn't a matter of whether Jesus would or would not
heal the individuals.
He wanted to.
It's always the will of God to heal.
But this account says he could not,
even though he wanted to.
And yet, on the other account,
with the great multitudes running to see him,
it says that all of them that touched him were made whole.
All of them were healed.
And so we can see the great multitude
brought their expectancy,
they brought their faith,
and they got what their faith was expecting.
And when it comes to receiving divine healing,
we have to be expectant.
We have to release our faith.
And we need to be in places where people there,
that are present, are expecting these things.
You know, it's very difficult to get healed in a church
where nobody's believing for it.
It's very difficult to receive healing in a church
where no one's preaching it or teaching it.
So you might have to, in some cases,
find a new church if you want to live healed.
And I know there are a lot of people
that prefer to live healed,
but they don't prefer to leave their comfort zone.
And believe it or not,
and I know some people don't like to hear this,
if you choose to stay in a place
that doesn't agree with this,
this message of healing,
that doesn't get excited about it,
then you will live with far less
than God has provided for your life.
And so sometimes hard decisions have to be made.
How much do I desire what God has for me?
What am I willing to do to receive?
And I want you to know you've taken the first step today
just in watching this message.
And so I congratulate you in that you found us,
you found a good teaching.
But I want to encourage you to continue to watch the videos,
continue to let your faith grow and develop,
and continue to let your expectancy rise.
God wants you to receive your healing today.
Amen, amen.
I'm gonna pray with you.
Father, in the name of Jesus,
I pray for those who are watching,
many of whom are just now realizing
they have something to do with their healing.
I thank you that expectancy is rising, faith is rising,
and as a result, the power of God is increasing.
And right there where they're at,
we're believing for that power to flow
from the top of their heads to the soles of their feet.
We say be made whole in Jesus' name.
Now, I want to encourage you to keep watching,
keep receiving from these messages.
As a matter of fact, you might want to become a subscriber
so you can be notified of upcoming videos.
Also like and share this with someone else
that you know needs this teaching.
And then also I want to encourage you,
if you've received anything at all from this ministry,
pray about becoming a partner with us.
You know, every seed that you sow into this ministry
is helping other people to come up higher
and to receive their healing as well.
And that's the mandate we've received from God.
He wants his people well,
he wants this message to get out there
and permeate the airwaves.
And so every time you sow into this ministry,
you're helping that vision from heaven come to pass.
Well, that's all for today.
Thank you again for joining me.
And remember, God has a great purpose for your life
and it's so much bigger than you know.
God bless you.
