Boyan Slat's motivational speech | System 001 | The Ocean Cleanup

So, yeah, I don't know how you guys feel, but this for me is, yeah, probably one of the most exciting moments in my life. We're about to launch the world's first OG cleanup system to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. So, to really underline why it's so important, what's going to happen in the next few weeks. Not only is this a massive problem that we're trying to solve, but on the other hand, it's also, yeah, I really believe that this can be a turning point for the world's in terms of solving the world's plastic pollution problem. Right now, this problem is far away and it's invisible. It's literally below the surface of the ocean. And I think once we take it out and bring it back to land, suddenly it's a very visible problem and one that's actually very close to home. But of course, to do that, we need to prove that this technology will be feasible. Everything comes down to showing that the technology works. And that's the single most important thing that we're trying to achieve with system number one. So, thanks all for being part of this journey and all the best for the next few months. This is going to be extremely, extremely excited. So, thank you.
