Men's Singles _ Lee Zii Jia (MAS) vs. Lakshya Sen (IND) _ [2] _ Badminton 2025 Highlight

Victor Axelsson, who incidentally is playing over on court one in the final game. Malaysian fans would certainly like to see that. He lost to Axelsson in the final in two games. And Mark Kalyau in three games. He put the past behind them. No defended. Really well done. And that's out. High lift. Did not fall into the temptation of smashing Lee. And then the double touch by Sen. Well defended. It's a body shot. And again. Lakshya Sen persisting. And it's out. This is one of the most anticipated matches of the day. Leading by more than four points. And that gap was closed down by Lee Zijay fairly quickly. Here comes the smash. Zijay defending. That time though. This is a good rally. Really nice. Looking for an opportunity Lakshya Sen. The smash is defended. And that's strange. Zijay I think controlling this. He's got a maturity at the moment. That time again. That time. This is a slower drop. Missed it. Dramatic unfolding of events on court one. If you're wondering what all the boos are about. Still holding on. Flick serve. No exchange. Nice drop shot. Back to one point. It's caught the line. Smart. One saved. Flick serve. You can sense the tension. What a smash. Anyone's game. You can see him trying to put Lakshya Sen on the backcourt. He pushes. Well defended. That's landed out. And it's out. Some of that second round energy here. He's straight down. He's got to watch his lines better. Change of pace. There. Nice cross net. What a final. Both those times he played three games and came back from a game down. That's why I say he's no... Here comes a smash. I think playing on the better end. Lucky. Here comes a smash. Lakshya Sen still persisting. Still staying in. And he's... Canada opened last year. For July. Oh. Unsuccessful check. In the lead. Lost in the first round in France. Lost to Magnus Johannesson. Yeah. As the India opened. First round exit. The Malaysia opened. So he's looking to make his first semi-final. In his sixth tournament. That's landed out. Hoping it'll land out. 11 all. That's his biggest asset. If anything, this has been even closer. Little choice. Here's another smash. Well defended by Sende. Keeps going. How good was that? Defensive backhand. That's odd. Oh, he missed it. 16 all. Good save. And he retired. At 1421. Point lead. On his fourth. And Lakshya do better. Tried for the body smash. By both players. Point lead. Not one caught the line as well. Oh, what a good challenge. He's made some super saves. Sende. Level scored. Scores level. I beg your pardon. In the second. Too many easy points. It's out. It's a beauty. Here comes a smash. Tim Lizio is ready. It's a very high clear. And again. Oh, he missed the net goal. And again. That's four smashes. Five. Six. The closest match has been. It's about the line. Even this match. Ever since going down. In the opening game. Nice net exchange. That's gone. Lizzie James. Found their voices. Oh, what a. He has his back up. Nice net shot. From Lee. Superb. Still going. This is never ending, this rally. He's still defending. Here comes a smash. Indeed. That is out. Two away. What a smash. Low serve. Nice net return. Net exchange there.
