And he has the cutest Gruffalo slippers ever. I got these from Sainsbury's at weekend. Him and Noah actually both have a pair. They are just the cutest. That's Jonah's surprised face. It's the most wonderful time of the year because today we are going to be decorating the rest of the house for Christmas. Hello my loves. Cheers, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Welcome back to the Christmas channel. That's what I'm gonna rename my YouTube channel. Can I just say this Christmas tree gives me the biggest serotonin boost every single day. Every single day I wake up part of my morning routine is coming down the stairs turning on the Christmas tree and when those lights light up the serotonin levels in my body just increase. But yeah plans for today are we are going to be decorating the rest of the house which I am very much looking forward to. They're going to be doing the bedroom, our entryway, the kitchen and the dining room. We have actually already done Noah's room. He was desperate to get his little decorations up so we did his the weekend before last. But I have some Christmassy bedding which I'm going to pop on his bed so when he gets home he'll be very surprised by that. As you all know Christmas is truly one of my favorite times of the entire year. I look forward to Christmas all year. I just find it such a magical time. I love everything about it and now I have children it makes it so much more magical. Like I feel that really just magical that's the best way I can describe it like that Christmas magic I can feel that through their eyes. But I also wanted to say I over the years whenever I post my Christmas videos especially when I start early as you know we like to start the beginning of November. I always see a couple of comments from you guys saying that you find Christmas a particularly hard time for many different reasons. But what I never want to, this is hard to explain, I never want to make you feel like you have to be happy at Christmas because I want you to know that I also understand that Christmas can be a hard time for people. For myself as you know five years ago which I can't believe it's been that long I actually lost my dad and he very much was the magic of Christmas and Christmas has been a really really hard time for me. I feel like obviously every single day it's very apparent that he's not here but Christmas more so just because it used to you know like I said he used to be the magic of Christmas and without him I think before I had children I definitely struggled more because I feel like now I've got children I can like make my own traditions. But my grief journey is another reason I actually started therapy earlier this year and something I'll say about grief in case any of you are going through your own grief journey especially losing someone really close to you know a parent, loved one, it never gets easier over time you just find better ways to deal with it and starting therapy for me gave me some really good coping mechanisms especially around like the holidays or like I find Easter hard as well Christmas obviously his birthday any birthday actually and at those times I feel like I need a little bit more help I now have some really great coping mechanisms which I have learned through therapy so that's something that's really helped me and I just wanted to mention that if you may know I actually started therapy through BetterHelp who are the paid partners of today's video I feel very honoured to be able to work with BetterHelp and bring awareness like I said I feel like therapy through BetterHelp has really helped me and if it can help anyone else then that is just such a good thing. the theme for this year is very much nostalgic classic Christmas and oh my god reds and burgundies and deep greens and velvet gold and all of like the little vintagey touches like the little Santa prints and of course my beloved Spode collection oh my god I just love it all together I think this is classic 90s Christmas it's very home alone vibes which you know is going to be my theme for next year we have a couple of new bits this year but I have also used a lot of last year's decor last year was neutral with a lot of green whereas this year I've added in the red so most of like the burgundy bits that you see are new bits and to be honest there's not actually too many actual burgundy bits I've just added a lot of ribbons and bows which I think is a really affordable way to add a new colour scheme without having to buy all new decor so very quick little rundown of where things are from I'll try and link as much as I can down below these tea towels so gorgeous these are from Home Sense I would say if you're looking for like affordable really lovely Christmas deco Home Sense is a really good place to go you can find like things that are a little bit more unique as well so Home Sense I got a pack of these velvet ribbons which are absolutely beautiful and they've got the little tie on the back so I'm literally just going to cover the house in these these are very home alone vibes and these were from Home Bargains you get a pack of six I think for £2.99 this print is new this is from Amazon so nice I just popped the bow on there again but without the bow equally as gorgeous I got some new books which are like Christmassy colours so I got The Golden Spoon and Ginger Pig which is a Christmas cookbook looking forward to making some things out of there actually this Christmas let's have a look in it actually haven't even had a look in it yet only came yesterday it's a very beautiful like Christmassy book to have on display in the kitchen Boxing Day Glazed Ham oh these recipes look so nice Festive Roast Porchetta let's skip to the back for desserts the best bit let's be honest Christmas cake I really want to make a Christmas cake this year even though it's not my favourite dessert I just feel like it's a just a nice thing to do Granny Joy's Christmas Mousse that sounds cute Luxe Spiced Hot Chocolate oh my goodness wow these recipes look so nice and like I said for kitchen Christmas decor I think this will look really nice on a shelf or just on the worktops so yeah I got those from Amazon of course we have my beloved Spode collection which I actually got last year as gifts from everyone because I got them quite late in December they were all like half price so if you're looking to build a bit of a Spode collection wait to buy these until like sort of more towards Christmas because they have a massive chunk off I think they were 40% off or TK Maxx and HomeSense had loads of the Spode collection this year again for like half price so if you're looking to collect some bits either wait till the end of December or pop over to HomeSense then I got these burgundy candles these were from H&M Home which I think are very pretty the frames I showed you these in my HomeSense haul but I've actually printed some Etsy prints how nice does that look so the total cost of this frame was like £5.99 for the frame and then I think £1 for the print so like £7 which looks so cute that's going to be such a nice styling piece and then I did the same with this little one as well a little wreath I think this is a really easy way to like add touches of Christmas without it feeling like too much then we've got another one over here very cute so yeah oh and this one I love this one so cute um these reindeers were also HomeSense just basically HomeSense I got these chopping boards from Burgess Reclamation Burgess Reclamation it's like a reclamation yard near the Cotswolds oh my goodness they sell so many beautiful bits but I got these chopping boards how cute famous fish wreath which it'd be stinking today I don't know if I can actually handle having this hung up again because I'm sad I love these wreaths but they just stink of fish um what else do we have I feel like oh these stockings are new these velvet stockings I got these from Tilly and Ted Homeware which sell the most beautiful Christmas bits this year also got these bow candlesticks from Tilly and Ted also love that it's called Tilly and Ted obviously because my cats are called Tilly and Teddy um it's not my brand I promise then I got this Christmas tree from Tilly and Ted and these bows so yeah they've got some really lovely bits then we have my beloved Cushions HomeSense again basically just HomeSense everything um these are going to go on the bed and then I've got this gorgeous green throw which I got last year I feel like the bedroom is going to look really cozy this year anything else you'd like to know where it's from leave me a comment down way to decorate like consoles and also I'm going to be doing something later in the kitchen um I'm going to be like popping some around the chopping boards with some ribbon which again easy affordable Christmas decor idea so these little mini cedar trees I was actually looking everywhere for I got these from an Instagram brand I feel like well I found they're not an Instagram brand but I found her on Instagram I think it's called Daisy Days interiors I'll link down below but I got two of these just because I thought they'd be perfect for Christmas kitchen styling I always find like the kitchen quite a hard place to add Christmasy bits because I don't like a lot of stuff on the worktop so I try and still keep it quite minimal um but adding little things like this I think is a really nice easy way to add Christmas decor and yeah I think that is about it these ribbons lots of you asked about these ribbons in my Christmas decorate video the chiffon ribbon is from Amazon we'll link down below Christmas tree is the white company I invested last year in a couple of white company Christmas trees they are definitely an investment they are not cheap but these are something I plan to have year after year after year and the quality of them is just so gorgeous it's everything about them I can't explain the fullness the realness like they look so real the lights are like the most perfect warm white I also love as well they're pre-lit so you just literally plug all three pieces in and everything lights you don't even have to like plug each separate section in it does it automatically like this actual bit is like a whole plug they're just so nice so I've got a six foot tree in the kitchen seven foot in the living room and then Noah's little mini three foot um so if you are looking to invest in a white company Christmas tree would definitely recommend because they're just absolutely beautiful anyway let's get decorating I'm thinking I'm going to start in the bedroom um so we'll take these cushions up and collect a couple of bits for the console in the bedroom as well okay first things first I have these alpine trees which I love to have in the corner where the olive tree is slightly terrified to pick up the olive tree because I just feel like it's the most perfect place for spiders to hide so I'm gonna face my fears and just quickly move it over there and then I like to have these two in that corner I kind of wish I don't know if it would be overkill though I would quite like to have two either side of the bed but I think that might be a bit too much um but these are so lovely I'll try and find some of these to link down below because I think I'm so out of breath from running up the stairs I just ran up with a big box of decorations and I am out of breath but these would be so nice like in a hallway you know like a space that's kind of small and skinny but you still want it to be christmasy I just love these I did put lights on them last year but I don't know if I'm going to this year I kind of feel like last year it made them look all messy might have just been the way I put them on um but I think I might leave them plain another thing as well um you might have heard me a couple of times refer to decorating Noah's bedroom for Christmas and not Jonah's that is because Jonah is still in the bed okay I don't want to talk about it um it was not planned but a child just loves being in the bed here's literally there's this meme that's like when you refuse to go in your cart so mama puts you in the big bed and it's that song that's like yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and it's just this really smug that is literally Jonah um so yeah he doesn't have a room at the moment because he refuses to go in there so us decorating our bedroom is like decorating his bedroom so yeah I'm gonna let's move the olive tree see how they look over here oh my lord I don't like it oh my oh my god do not fall on me do not fall oh my god there's spider's webs I repeat there are spider's webs on the olive tree my theory is correct he's giving kevin mccallister's bed for overnight yes yes yes anyone else's partner's nightstand look like this so many wires Jamie comes to bed and he's like where's all my chargers gone I might put them somewhere that wasn't on top of the nightstand my toxic trait is aesthetics over practicality I hate it about myself but it's true I'm laughing because Jamie is gonna absolutely hate these on his bedside table I tell you what he can do he can use them as a little look charger holder look and we can practical meets practicality meets aesthetics here we go look wow keep them all together it's actually quite a good idea there we go okay the bedroom is done there's something that is throwing me off here I think it's the amount of bows that we've got going on we've got like one two three I think I might get rid of that for a couple of reasons obviously Jonah sleeps in the bed this is just going to distract him I know I can just imagine him feeding there and he's just going to be looking at that so I might have to eliminate that love my little alpine trees with the bows not sure about the nightstands I need to faff with them about seven million times before I'm happy I love the little console this looks cute I feel like the little mini Christmas tree with the little Santa print in the frame and then these like antique gold Christmas trees I think looks very cute oh that looks cute like seeing the cushions in the mirror oh I love I'm excited to sleep in here tonight or dose of reality here is what it looks like the other side of the room oh my goodness look just piles upon piles of Christmas stuff oh my goodness so now I need to sort out all of this and then we'll head downstairs we'll just focus on this we never look behind the camera behind the camera doesn't exist well it does for me it doesn't for you guys something's tugging at my sleeve I do believe it's Christmas it's cold outside but I'm warm within because Christmas time is here for the hallway is this little swag swaggy garland that Jamie actually made for me yesterday I made a little bit of a makeshift one last year and it kept falling down one thing about me is I cut corners if there's a quick and easy way to do it I'll do it over the actual way to do it and it's very much my toxic trait and it's something Jamie hates about me because he is the complete opposite like he will do something so thoroughly and he'll make such a great job of it but it just takes so long whereas I'm like just do it quickly cut the corners is what it is and the results of that my garland kept falling down last year which was very annoying so I said to him can you make me a real sturdy little swaggy garland that will go on my mirror you know now there is a I hate to say it Jamie but there's a fault in your design he has done this quite impressive like real in-depth boy scout knot there but number one it's coming undone so I'm really grateful don't I and number two it looks fabulous like looks very fabulous but I'm not sure how it's going to stay up there because he's put two command hooks on the mirror but I just I don't know how they're going to hold this it's like I need another command hook can you see let me move you it's like I need another command hook at the wall it's like that I try to put your finger on top of the upper tower I need another command hook at the top but I think it's going to look very cute like when it actually stays there it's going to look very cute I just need to figure out a way to hook that top bit it's also coming undone so Jamie's just out at the minute but when he's home I'm gonna have to say my love we're gonna have to rethink this design because it just ain't working right now saying how good it was and saying it was like a boy scout like quadruple knot and then it came undone and yeah it's just a lashing what's a lashing when you go around things like wow see I'm I'm not sure how um you're gonna get it to stay up here Jamie I think there might be a bit of a flaw in your plan my love it's all right it's all right I feel like we need a command strip in the middle no you you have little faith okay I'll let you um I'll let you put the the final piece of the puzzle up look if I can't put this up how am I going to renovate a house I'm not sure the eye surgery is all in so I had to wait in the car park for him so I was on the phone yeah I'd come up with a new idea Jamie's 100th idea of the week what I want to do this is Jamie every single hour of the day yep I always quite like to make cider wow that's a good idea this is Jamie has a whole house to renovate also Jamie I want to make cider well I don't want the apples well here's the thing and also we'll make crumbles yeah and also oh yeah perfect that looks so nice yeah wow man of the land oh yeah this is what I want my new life to be I'm going to reinvent myself man of the land oh my god you made it stay oh it looks so good so cider that's your new idea that's his new hyper fixation so now he'll go on marketplace buy all the cider equipment and then he won't do it you get the apples yeah chop them up yeah put them in a press compress it down and then you get the juice then you've just got like jugs of apple juice okay so you could have apple juice too yeah you make apple juice yeah anyway then you put your yeast in right and then just wait really is that how the alcohol's formed the yeast reacts and whoa alcohol tester so you dip it in there see what percentage is that nice I think when you bottle it after that but then I think you leave it for a while you can leave it like a year or so stay tuned everyone for Jamie's he's found a use for the outbuilding by the sound of it yeah Jamie's apple cider barn it's great I love it I mean I've got a lot of really so by next year famous last words so actually this next year I've got the apple to make the cider right the year after I can drink the cider while I make more cider wow children playing in the snow a merry game they play chasing each other to and fro laughing all the way oh what a jolly time to have the whole family oh just about to show you our new pet mr robin but he has literally just flown away so for the past oh my god I can see the baby in the tree oh my god he's back he's back oh oh my goodness can you see the baby robin oh I'm gonna cry where's mama robin oh no little baby robin's crying for mom oh my god this is actually heartbreaking I'm actually gonna have to adopt that baby robin so basically for the past couple of weeks we have had a little robin like on our fence like every single morning um and I was noticing oh no he's really crying where is she oh my god this is so sad it is that the mum kept going to the christmas tree at the jamie like I'm sure there's a nest in there a couple days later out pops baby robin so there's definitely a nest in there because they are always near the tree um and I've noticed he's calling for his mum and just flying around but usually he'll sit on the fence and then go in the tree and then I've noticed the mummy robin will like collect food and take it back to the tree it's very very very sweet but um not right now because I'm like where is she I think there's another one in the tree I want to go over to the tree and have a look in the tree but I haven't um I'd love to like see the nest but I really just don't want to go anywhere near the tree because I don't want to scare the robins and I don't want like her the mum robin not to come back because I've gone near the tree um and like abandon her baby so I've just not gone anywhere near it but where is she she must have gone out to get some food for them we have got like we specifically bought some robin feed which we've like scattered in the garden we've popped it all on the fence um I've also ordered some grubs and some fat balls from amazon so oh my god oh my god oh my god the baby robin's really close to the door oh my god oh my god oh my god the baby's eating the seed oh my goodness this is so cute he hasn't got a red chest yet I wonder when he gets a red chest oh bless him I actually can't get over that I haven't seen him this close yet he never usually comes this close to the door where's mama gone oh my god it's like watching a bloody david I'm gonna have to stand here for the next however long it takes until mummy robin comes back for a really simple kitchen decor idea I added these rustic cowbells to a chopping board with some ribbon super simple but adds such a subtle touch of christmas and also hides ugly plug sockets when everything is white glimmering silver white and stillness fills the night it's christmas a winter wonderland a snowball in each hand take me away christmas day there's joy in the air family's near we give thanks for this past year oh nothing compares to the love that we share oh a green red delight with glimmering silver wine you dazzle us all from big to small warm laughter and white smiles my presents stacked in piles take me away christmas day okay before we start decorating the dining room we need to pick some sunframe art so this is the first one I don't love it um I also have this one which I'll put on now and you need to tell me whether you like this one more or 10 hours later or this one oh I think it's that one right we have another option gonna see what this one looks like oh okay I think I love that turn down the brightness a little bit a little tip if you have a samsung frame tv and you find that sometimes it looks a little bit um not like the art like a like it doesn't look like a realistic piece of art turn the brightness down and I feel like it just looks so much more real so I've just turned the brightness down and I feel like already you can also adjust the um like color some like prints from etsy you'll find they're either really blue or really like warm toned so you can kind of play about with that here too I actually usually have it about here and then brightness I usually have like right in the middle but it makes a huge difference actually like if it's too bright or too dull I also think having the mount in there as well um let me show you like selecting the frame option just looks much more realistic okay I really like that let's keep that all of those invested in robin gates mother robin is back I repeat mother robin is back with her baby I just saw her at the bottom of the fence I'm so happy I've literally been so worried about that I like googled of course I did what do I do if a baby robin is left alone basically you just leave some food out for it I was hoping there'd be like a whole like adoption process you know I'd love to adopt a robin um but there wasn't it was just feed it which we have been doing anyway but I'm happy that mother robin is back because I think that would have actually broken my heart if little baby robin was looking for her you know what anything to do with animals makes me cry I mean anything makes me cry I literally cry at the Julia Donaldson cartoons like I anything like animated with animals and anything just with animals just is my weeks boy just makes me absolutely sob anyway let me show you what we've been up to in the kitchen okay kitchen is looking a little bit like this I feel like I will add to the kitchen decor over time but for now I have just added a few little festive touches so we have the festive tea towel here naranjona's snack basket a center stage I've popped this little star here I need to do something with this corner um we've got fish reef which I thought you know what it's not so bad if it's here because there's a lot of cooking going on I'm gonna try and spray it with some kind of perfume to make it less fishy said no one ever I've also popped the little tree boards there which I think look nice we've got the other tea towel here I just love these tea towels they are so festive thinking of switching that up to maybe a burgundy maybe like a striped green or burgundy tea towel would look nice there then we've just got my little chopping boards with the bow and bells here I've said this a million times but to hide any ugly plug sockets stick a chopping board in front of it it kind of it's giving chopping board shop a little bit but I don't mind that listen I love a chopping board so I really don't mind and then over here we've got my little mini tree I popped one of these bows on um which are from Amazon we've got my book I think I'm gonna get another Christmas book and have it open here on like a nice Christmassy page little candle again we've got our little DIY Christmassy chopping board the Christmassy books and then over this side we have the coffee corner I was gonna add I have already got my command strips up here you can see my hooks I was gonna add some kind of garland um but I just feel like it's gonna look really busy and bother me you know me I'm a minimal Christmas deck girly I'm trying to add more but I'm just like oh the clutter bothers me and I feel like this is enough so we've got the Christmas tree print from Amazon there these cute little cups which I think just look perfect on top of the um I think I might switch this up for peppermint syrup so we need to do that and get another label like I said I'm going to add to it over the next few weeks little wreath I've got my spode spoons for coffee which I think are so cute and that's all I've really done in the coffee corner I think we could probably add more to these shelves and then over this side is the chaos which is decorating for Christmas to be fair it was a lot worse a minute ago it was just everywhere it was the calm before the storm okay and this is Noah's creation from the weekend it's his favorite season where gingerbread houses are back in stock in the shops and he just loves nothing more than decorating one of these so I'm sure we'll be doing this every weekend the only thing is he likes to keep it for a really long time so I'll probably have this till the new year this is either cute or gross but last Christmas Eve we did a gingerbread house and Noah was so attached to it that we actually had it up until I want to say like May in the cupboard every night he would get out his gingerbread house put it under the dining room table and put all of his gingerbread men in there it lasted well but then one day it started like crumbling actually no the reason I chucked it away was because he started eating the chocolate buttons off the roof in like May and I was like no we can't have you eating that like that is old so I'm sure there'll be a couple of um gingerbread houses knocking about in the cupboards until mid next year you dazzle us all from big to small warm laughter and white smiles my presents stacked in piles take me away Christmas day take me away Christmas day like that we are all decorated for Christmas feels so lovely and cozy in our home I'm like I said gonna be adding a couple more bits over the next few weeks I'm very much like a gradual decorator I like to add more and more and more as we kind of like go
