My parents took me to the Dove Awards in Memphis, Tennessee, at the Piedmont Hotel, and now 49 years later, I'm 60 years old. Yes, I'm 60. This is my year to turn 60. Yes. I remember when I was young up there in the bleachers watching every ... wishing I could be Striper. I remember that. And now, you know you're getting old, though. I'll tell you how you know you're getting old. When your little 11-year-old niece looks at you and says, you look like that old man in the Up movie. Listen, how many of you were not alive in 1969? Let me hear you. How many of you were? Wow, that's about half. Good night, 1969. Bill Gaither couldn't be here tonight. We left him at the home, but he's still around. In fact, we're celebrating this year, this end of this week, a Gaither vocal band reunion. That is going to be a blast, and I'll be there to make fun of his hair. You know that first wig he had was made out of cat hair. You know that. Every time he scratched his head, his rear went up. It was awful. And now, would you welcome my good friends that never seem to age, Jason Crabb and Rascal Flats. Like a child, so full of fear, you stood by my side. You held me near.
