FOREIGN MINISTER TRẦN THIỆT KHÔNG, TRẦN THIỆT KHÔNG, TRẦN THIỆT KHÔNG, TRẦN THIỆT KHÔNG,
thank you and your team for the — Ah, President Khuong, thank you to you and your team for
being such gracious hosts.
I want to start first by expressing our condolences for the flooding that's occurred in the north
and central parts of Vietnam.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your people, and any assistance that we can
provide, as the Ambassador has already talked about, we look forward to providing to you
and your people.
I was also pleased to hear that you had the opportunity to meet with President Trump on
October 29th as well.
I can tell you, this relationship with Vietnam is of great significance to him also, in Senator's
regards, as we celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and Vietnam.
In these three decades, our partnership and friendship has grown and now is a comprehensive
strategic partnership, and our military-to-military relations and civilian relations are at the
best level they've ever been.
Again, I think we have a great deal of cooperation and friendship in front of us, and we come
here to deepen that cooperation, to ensure a stable, free, and secure Indo-Pacific that
is mutually beneficial for the interests of both the United States and Vietnam.
So, Mr. President, thank you for having our team, and I look forward to our discussion
today.
