Storm Reid shared her hopes for her ‘Euphoria’ costar Zendaya ahead of her eventual wedding to Tom Holland during an exclusive interview with E! News
It's an honor and a privilege and a blessing to be deemed as an inspiration,
but I think I wanted to come to reaffirm that being an inspiration doesn't have to look like perfection.
You don't have to be perfect. You can make mistakes.
You can say no when you need to say no. You can stand up for yourself.
You can have autonomy over your life and over your choices
and how you spend your time and who you spend your time with.
So I'm honored, like I said, to be here, but when you look at me,
I want you to not look at perfection or think that I'm perfect because I'm not.
I'm taking it day by day. I make mistakes. I get frustrated. I get overwhelmed.
So I'm just happy to be here and to celebrate all the other women that are here today too.
I want you to talk to me about the importance of relationships with your girlfriends as well.
One of the big relationships that we know at E is you and Zendaya.
Talk to me about that dynamic, that relationship, how you gain confidence
and just girlfriendhood, sisterhood from her.
Z is an absolutely incredible human being, and I think that radiates in our relationship.
I don't really like calling people my mentors, but if I had to say that somebody was my mentor,
I would say it's her and not because of the cool things she does.
She's been my inspiration since I was a little girl.
Shake It Up was my show. I was tuned in.
But I think it's the way that she moves through the world and she carries herself.
She actually genuinely cares about me as a human.
It's not Rue and Gia. It's Storm and Zendaya.
It's her checking in on me. It's her, like, if I feel unsure about something
or if I have a problem, I'm texting her.
I really appreciate her presence and her proximity,
and I know that she will always be my sister, so I'm grateful for that.
Are we going to be a bridesmaid? Is that kind of happening?
I said I want to be a flower girl, so I want to make that happen.
But I'm just so excited for her whenever that happens.
She deserves all the best that the world has to offer.
