We will now begin the match.
The blue corner, 175cm, 113.55kg.
The red corner, 178cm, 112.75kg.
ROCKY MARTINEZ!
Shrek with the smile. It's almost chilling.
Shrek is a great grappler.
Known for his suplexes, throws and a great ground game.
These two have a long and storied understanding of one another.
Experts say that Martinez will have a stand-up advantage.
Let's see what reality says.
The bell about to ring and here we go.
Look at that, right straight through.
Martinez comes all the way across the ring.
Now we pick up the energy here, leading with the right.
Shrek.
Seems a bit early on to me.
I don't want to say lumbering in the movement, but very deliberate.
It's clear, Shrek making no secret the intent is the right hand early.
Perhaps that was the set-up.
Sprawling away from the double leg is Martinez into the ropes.
These two don't want to stand here.
Shrek from the side, here we go there.
Too much girth and already probably enough sweat.
Busy right hand of Roque Martinez.
And Shrek leans.
Martinez trying to turn, he would be able to if the rope wasn't acting like a part of his body block.
That does show, though, that Martinez is striving quite hard.
He's striving for the top.
He's hips.
Action!
Good under hooks there. Martinez seems to be confident.
Action!
Stop!
Energy is a big thing, especially in a fight game.
Understanding the flow of the room.
Your energy moves throughout.
Left hand, box, he can't do it the other way.
Left kick, quick kick down.
Went for the sweep off the kick.
And right back up to his feet is Roque.
He seems to find himself in a familiar position.
Martinez working from underneath as best as he can.
Turning.
Well done there by Shrek.
Now let's see what Shrek can do here.
Pushing deep with his shoulder, trying to get underneath the armpit.
Pushing with the head up against on the chin.
Hands are compromised, so the knees go into effect.
Inside knee.
Action!
Soften up Martinez's base quickly.
Halfway through the first round.
Good to lock the collar and elbow tight.
Head and back routines are busy now for Roque Martinez.
Shrek left his head exposed here.
Could see a good scene there.
Nope. Shrek is biding some time.
Go action!
Soft kick off for Shrek.
Three minutes into the round.
Again, returning back to the neutral position.
Confirmation on Shrek's face.
Sits frustration.
Dive for the leg.
And Martinez's hands are busy now.
Shrek wildly backfist on the return.
Shrek is dangerous.
Recovering and waiting.
Almost baiting Martinez in.
Martinez won't have it.
And Shrek returns.
Again, caught Martinez.
On the left side.
More kicks.
More kicks. The crowd comes alive.
Shrek down. Off the balance.
Hammer fist now.
Ankle kick. Pull out.
Soccer kick. Landed big.
Boy, Shrek's in trouble.
Ref has to get in there.
Shrek is not defending himself.
And there's the ref.
But it's not to stop the fight.
It's to bring Shrek back in.
But Shrek is rearranging his nose.
That's it.
It was the soccer kick, in my mind,
that stopped Shrek.
Who never seemed to get out of the gate.
Seemed to be lumbering and plodding.
So Roque Martinez
wins this one.
We'll see in the replays.
I'd like to see where the lower soccer kick,
when you didn't step on the foot, landed.
It landed right on the bridge,
right in between the eyes.
A little head movement.
A weak leg dive there.
Maybe it was the right hook that kind of started.
The jumping knee strike.
That right hook also began to buckle.
And then the kicks from Hideki.
And then there was an off-balance.
Hammer, hammer, hammer.
Slip out ankle.
But there's the kick.
It was almost a toe, it looked like.
Oh, there's the shin.
And that was it.
Fair enough.
An amalgamation of damage.
At the hands and feet of that man right there,
Roque Martinez.
Hamamatsu Nihon, I love you!
Thank you, everyone in Hamamatsu.
Very nice, a nice message.
And to those of us that subscribe,
or leave an energy,
so that we all, as a community,
can take a moment and think positive thoughts
and send a positive energy
to Roque Martinez and his grandfather and his fight.
A great show of sportsmanship.
Once again, we take a look back.
Hideki's balance.
That was a straight right hand, actually,
that started it all.
I didn't see it from just the exhausted back
of Martinez from the camera angle,
but now our great camera staff
has been amazing all night long,
really picking up the points of impact
and helping us better understand
the knockout victory for Roque Martinez.
All right, ladies and gentlemen,
that brings us to our double main event.
The two fights that have had everyone talking.
They've had me excited.
Ladies and gentlemen,
we are going to see Victor Henry
and the 135-pound division
take on Masahori Kanehara.
This is going to be a great show.
