When Porsche learned to swim: Marcello Petisci’s hyper-realisitic paintings catapult the beholder into fascinating worlds.
The first idea was to put cars in exceptional environments that we don't usually see.
I found that using water on the bodywork brought a form of abstraction.
The fluidity of the water on the bodywork, I find it very beautiful.
I always start with photographs that I take of myself in the pools, only during the summer.
In the summer, there is sun, it's nice.
Then, when I have shot a lot, I go home and I sort out all the photos that I have taken,
that I put aside.
When I have an idea that comes to me, I take one of these photos and I modify it,
I add waves to give the impression of the sea.
This is written on the computer and then, when the image is written on the computer,
I can finally paint it.
This is the most complicated process.
It's a very long process, it's a traditional painting process,
as the ancient painters did.
