Bonjour! In this video I am sharing my little routines of always keeping a clean and tidy kitchen. As you know I love cooking and I like always finding my kitchen ready for preparing a next meal. I often receive comments and messages from people asking how I manage to keep the kitchen so tidy, with 4 people in my household and lots of cooking every single day. So I thought I'd share a little bit about that. I am also sharing the new robot vacuum that we recently bought and that I use to keep my kitchen floor clean which as you know, is quite a pain to clean. It has made a huge difference in the stress that cleaning the floor gave me and I am happy to share how this particular one works and how we like it. This video is sponsored by Ecovacs for which I am very grateful. Sponsors help me continue to create videos for this channel and pay for the expenses that come with creating videos!
Thanks you so much for being here, for watching, liking and commenting and for supporting the channel! Love, Marloes
Bonjour everyone. I hope you're all
doing well. Welcome back to my home here
in the French countryside and to my
kitchen here in Burgundy. I love keeping
this space clean and tidy. And I've had
so many messages on Instagram and also
comments here on YouTube from you
saying, "How do you manage to keep it
that clean?" Well, I have a couple of
routines that I make myself and my
family stick to that help us keep it
tidy. And I've talked about this before.
The floor is extremely difficult to keep
clean. But I'm happy to say that I have
found a little helper and that is the
Eovax Debot T80 Omni. That's a whole
mouthful to say. This wonderful little
robot that mops and vacuums my floor.
And I want to share with you how it
works later in this video. This is where
you could sigh and say, "Oh my gosh, not
another sponsored video. But if you're
as skeptical to these kind of appliances
as I was, you might want to stay and see
how I tried it and what my thoughts
were. The first routine that helps me
keep our kitchen clean is to simply keep
cleaning up. Today I'm making soup. And
as soon as I'm done cutting all the
veggies and I've got my soup going, I am
going to start cleaning. I will bring
out the compost. I will clean my cutting
board. I will clean my countertops. And
I will start washing the bowls that I
use. The real issue in this kitchen is
the floor. It's a terra cotta floor
which has a very rough surface. So, it
is really not easy to keep clean. So, I
called in the help of the Eovax Debot
T80 Omni robot vacuum. And Eovax is also
kindly sponsoring this video. My mom
always taught me to make sure I stay on
top of things. She keeps telling me,
"Just mop this floor once or twice a
week and you will not get the buildup of
dirt, which makes you have to scrub it
until you pull your hair out." And I
guess as we grow older and maybe also a
little wiser, we usually end up
understanding that our moms were right.
The issue is we clean all the time for
the holiday rentals that we have. I
don't feel like I have the time nor the
energy to be mopping this floor twice a
week. The Eovax Debot T80 Omni might be
that thing that I have been waiting for.
Now, I will say I was very skeptical
about this. My son opened the box as
soon as it came in and set it up and it
was so quick that I haven't even seen
what exactly he did. I then downloaded
the app and connected it to the station
and robot. You need to name your robot
and I decided to call it the black dirt
devil. Then the first thing we did was
have the Eovax Debot T80 Omni map our
space for which it uses pretty advanced
AI. Now in this space we have the
kitchen, the sitting area with a rug.
So, the Eovax Debbot T80 Omni started
mapping out our 65 square meter space.
And I guess the mechanical engineer
husband and the tiny bit scared but also
very curious cat were equally intrigued
with the intelligence. It quickly
recognized the carpet, the smaller and
bigger pieces of furniture, and the odd
corners of our space. And in no time, it
had our map ready. Then you simply fill
the clean water tank with fresh water.
And you use the app to select the
settings such as the cleaning mode, the
suction power, the water flow rate, and
the speed. And you can even ask it to do
two subsequent rounds of cleaning, one
after the other, if you feel your space
is really dirty. The app allows you to
choose different cleaning modes. either
just vacuum or vacuum and mop at the
same time or vacuum first. A first round
of vacuum cleaning, then a second round
of just mopping. I did some research and
learned that typical robot vacuums and
mops have spinning mop pads. But the
Eovax Deepot T80 Omni uses a specific
roller mop, which is able to apply far
more downward pressure than you will get
with most robot vacuums.
That is definitely what this floor
needs. We still do lots of building
works in this part of the house. We walk
into the garden and back into the room
all the time. And we have two boys and a
cat. So, this floor gets very dirty. The
Eovax Debot T80 Omni also has a feature
that's called instant selfwash. That's a
special system that washes the mop with
hot water a couple of times during the
cleaning session, which means the dirty
water is stored in a separate reservoir,
and the roller mop will use fresh, clean
water after each clean. And so when Olaf
has gone outside to get some wood for
his building projects and he comes in
with his muddy shoes, I can launch a
cleaning session and it cleans all the
dirt without leaving any traces or
without smearing all of the dirt after
itself. I think that is pretty
impressive. And what I find very
convenient, especially for this kind of
situation, is that I can select a
specific area to be cleaned. So, when
we're busy during the day, fine. We'll
make a mess. We'll leave it all on the
floor. And then when the work is done, I
can select the area that has gotten
really dirty and have the Eovax Debt 80
Omni vacuum and mop that particular
space only. So, I can select a zone,
launch a cleaning session, and it will
very specifically and precisely clean
that little bit, and everything looks
pristine and clean by the time that it's
done. And I don't have to do anything
but take a shower after the building
works, get a coffee, and relax. I know
that in the past two years of having
this floor, I have found myself
completely frustrated and crying and
yelling at everybody saying, "Can
somebody else just please take care of
this? We do a lot of cleaning. We need
to clean our own house. We need to keep
two rental homes clean all the time." At
some point, you just don't want to be
doing it all alone all the time. And I
think I'm learning that a device like
this can really feel like such a big
help and such a relief and quite
honestly helping me keep my sanity.

The roller mop also extends out so that
it can reach as far as possible on the
side of the robot in the corners and
around the edges. And as for the vacuum,
the Eovax Debot T80 Omni recognized the
carpet and it automatically boosts
suction when it's on the carpet. It also
automatically lifts the mop up by 10 mm
when it detects the carpet to prevent it
from getting wet from the roller mob.
Eovax is an established brand and they
have continuously improved their robot
vacuum models and they've been using AI
for years now. I have to say their AI
feels very advanced as it gets extremely
close to objects and to our beautifully
natural lime rendered walls which I
really don't want to get damaged and it
gets close to furniture and walls
without hitting anything. It is very
detailed in its cleaning around the legs
of furniture for example. I also
activated the pet sensitivity function,
so it is even more sensitive to avoiding
objects such as a cat, which isn't an
object, but a beautiful soul, especially
our beautiful Tigrat. The side brushes
continuously rotate, reaching every
little corner of the space and allowing
for dirt and dust, hairs, and pet fur to
be sucked up. And I'll be honest, I had
not washed or scrubbed this floor for
over a month when we used the Eovax
Debot T80 Omni for the first time. And
so it maybe wasn't a very fair test. As
even if I would have scrubbed it
manually, I wouldn't have been able to
clean it in one go. But when I emptied
the dirty water reservoir after the
first cleaning, I was positively
surprised with how much dirt the Eovax
Debot T80 Omni actually got off my
floors.
I am almost ashamed to show you this,
but for the sake of giving you some
proof, I will. And I'd be happy to come
see in your home how clean your floors
are when you mop them. And so we have
very positively accepted the schedule of
having the Eovax Debot T80 Omni run
twice a week. I use the quiet mode so it
actually isn't very loud at all. And so
while the Eovax Debot T80 Omni is doing
the hard work for me, I can sit down and
read my book. And I've just started a
new beautiful book by Melissa D Costa,
whom I've talked about before. If you
want more information about the Eovax
Debot T80 Omni, I have included a link
in the description box. So, yes, the
obvious cleaning is crucial for keeping
a clean and tidy kitchen. But there is a
last thing that I want to share that
makes all of that possible and that is a
smart organization of your kitchen. I
like it when things are aesthetically
pleasing like visually pleasing. So we
have a very organized kitchen. Each part
of this kitchen is for a specific type
of thing. So the island on one side is
all things for setting the table. So
when I'm cooking on the side where the
stove is, there is space to move for my
family members to be setting the table
without us being in each other's way.
But to the side of the stove, the
kitchen island is filled with cutting
boards, all my baking stuff, all of my
appliances that I use a lot, but not
every day. If I would leave them out on
the counter, they would just be getting
dusty. And we have two plug sockets on
the right of the island. So, I can plug
in two of these appliances at the same
time. And all of this has been something
that we've been really thinking about
when designing this kitchen. I also like
this part of my kitchen. We call this
the breakfast prepping station. Here is
all the things I need to make breakfast
for our guests. And the last thing that
I really really like and it was very
intentional in the design for this
kitchen is that we have a pantry. We
designed this kitchen from scratch. So
we were able to create it here. And
actually all of our food is in the
pantry. So there is no food storage in
my kitchen. Not even the fridge and the
freezer are in my kitchen. All of that
is in the pantry. My kitchen is also the
heart of our home, the living space. We
work here at the table. We relax here on
the couches. So, I am always looking at
this kitchen. If you love cooking as
much as I do, you will know the
frustration of when you feel like you
want to try a new recipe and you enter
your kitchen and the first thing you
need to do is start washing dishes or
cleaning up other people's stuff. And so
one last thing I will say about
dishwashers,
I like handwashing things because it
means that everything I could possibly
need will be ready to be used. Which is
also why I love this vintage sink from
the 50s that I thrifted because I
absolutely wanted one with one of those
drying rack, whatever things you call
this thing to the left. I really don't
know why they don't make them like this
anymore. This is how I do it. This is
what works for me. Let me know in the
comments what works for you. What kind
of cook are you? Do you wash while you
cook or do you pile everything up for
somebody else to do the dishes at the
end of the day? That could actually
really be a good way of doing it.
Anyway, I'd love to hear from you. Thank
you for watching this video and I'll be
back very soon with a new video from
France.
