What happens when you lie, joke around, and play tricks on people? Lying isn’t only wrong, it can get you in trouble and cause harm to those around you. This famous fable by Aesop teaches us the importance of being honest...at all times.

there wasn't anyone at the door
[Music]
you and your tricks
you know today's story is actually all
about a little boy who couldn't stop
playing tricks uh I hope you're gonna
listen to this story Otto let's read the
boy who cried wolf
once upon a time there was a young
Shepherd boy who tended to a large flock
of sheep just outside of his village day
in and day out he watched his flock in
the pasture near the woods the skies and
trees were beautiful the sunshine was
warm but his duties often proved to be
very dull every day was the same the boy
with his sheep without anyone else to
keep him company he talked to his dog
but the dog couldn't talk back so the
boy often daydreamed to pass the time
one day as the boy was watching his
flock his eyes gazed beyond the pasture
and into the quiet and Dark Forest and
his mind began to wander what would
happen if a wolf left out from between
the trees and darted towards my flock he
imagined it was a terrible thought but
the boy started to think about what he
would do if such a thing ever happened
he then thought of a way to amuse
himself on this particularly uneventful
day at work
the boy suddenly cried out running all
the way to the Village as fast as he
could no he had not seen a wolf he just
thought this to be a funny trick to play
on his fellow townspeople you know to
pass the time
wolf he continued to shout in a false
Panic all the way to the road and into
the village
townsfolk immediately flung open their
doors and bolted out of their homes and
shops with tools and equipment to fend
off this vicious wolf where where his
neighbor's eyes searched the area as
they sprinted between cottages and
markets ready and willing to chase the
wolf back into the woods how can we help
they shouted to the boy
the boy grinned
fooled you the boy then started to
chuckle so much that he fell to the
ground and couldn't contain his laughing
the town's people were not amused and
returned to their homes and shops to
continue with their day
the boy returned to his flock of sheep
still giddy from all the commotion he'd
cost
a few days later the boy found himself
feeling well bored again
so whoa whoa he screeched and he went
sprinting into the town again this time
wailing even more hysterically than the
few days before
as expected the good villagers flung
open their doors and bolted out of their
homes and shops with tools and equipment
ready and willing to help the boy chase
the wolf back into the forest
the boy exploded into wild laughter
I can't believe you believed me again
the townspeople were immediately and
understandably angrier than they were
the first time this happened
why are you wasting our time we have
work to do they demanded
the boy just smiled Shrugged and skirted
their questions he was quite satisfied
with his silly trick again and returned
to his flock giggling all the way then
a few weeks later just as the sun was
setting on the Lush screen pasture and
the Sheep were beginning to settle down
to rest
a wolf left out from between the forest
trees and darted towards the boy in his
flock
woof woof woof the boy cried desperate
frightened telling the truth this time
but no townspeople flung open their
doors
no one bolted out of their homes and
shops with tools and equipment no one
paid any attention to him at all
the boy ran through the village trying
to warn everyone wolf wolf
no one did anything
stop playing your tricks he heard
someone yell from inside their home
the wolf was in fact a real wolf
the Sheep scattered in Fright and were
lost in all directions
and the townspeople stayed in their
homes in shops not to be made fools of
again and the boy was so terrified that
he ran far far away all alone never to
be seen again
all because he cried wolf too many times
before when he shouldn't have the end
the moral of this story Liars are not
believed even when they speak the truth
I mean this boy lied so many times that
no one believed him when he was actually
telling the truth hey Auto
oh Auto no need to apologize you're not
a liar you're just a jokester you know
your tricks actually make me laugh
just remember to always be honest and
don't go around crying wolf or scaring
anyone for no reason okay okay thank you
