This is just right behind my house. I'm gonna walk up one of these ridges and there's all kinds of places to mow detecting of all these ridges along the river. Um there was houses on top of most of them. See you can see the houses down in there. I don't walk very long at all and I'm this high up look. This is logging roads but some of it ain't. Some of them are old roads that come down off the hill and a lot of the home foundations I don't think the people had a lot of money but I found pennies and none of them were newer than 1870s. See I need to walk all these drainages and see there's got to be dumps on these places too somewhere. Previously there's a rock outcropping there. See look at this there's a lot of looking to do up in here. See this is awesome up in here. It's just like every way you go it's there's a buckeye. I'll take that to squirrel me and it's still got the shell on it. Um but see there's more big rock outcroppings. It's hard to tell what's up in here right along the river. Hey there's a lot of stuff washed in here. I'd say there's stuff right here artifacts. Down this you'd have to do a lot of digging there because look right out there's the river you can see it. There was definitely indians up this hall maybe on this point up here would be a good place that you can see just see the river out there you can see a big huge section of it just a straight shot right down. See this is right along this rock face look at this point see the river right out there probably arrowheads all over this this is right behind the house. The one now is I need to go over there for house foundations but see this is all opened up up in here and all whoa there's a hit right there. I'm running this and there's another one. They're probably shotgun shells but we'll see we'll see I'm just running in an all metal mood. Something in here I'd say it's a shell just hold on here I don't know what this is but this is how you find dumps and you know nope it's also how you find cans in the woods too look see you can still see the river way out there there's a house foundation up in there but see there's roads all over these hills I just saw a squirrel up there running over the hill out of the corner of my eye. I just got this on all metal mood and I was closer to you know the main houses down there that can was the last target I haven't got one hit see you can see the horizon up here I think that's the top ridgeline I'm gonna get up on it walk down and then down into that house foundation I've never come up in here before it is up in here the river's way out there there's like a 50 signal in here it's probably a shotgun shell see where it's at here oh there it is it's what I thought it was we'll see what kind it is it's an old paper one you know that's a hundred years old somebody up in here hunting yeah that shell says Winchester at the top and at the bottom new rival r-i-v-a-l rival it's way out there's the river this is the top of this ridge now see it's just as far as you can see and it's nothing you know I could walk for a month I think that direction and not see another person or nothing it's just wow this is just beautiful up in here I'm just happy to get a walk I haven't even you know I'm just this is just what you have to do I might not find anything up in here unless I go to the house foundation but I like to branch out and look you know I was trying to look on the back side of this hill you know it was towards town that way the bigger towns I doubt they threw the trash over the front of the hill it's probably on the back side of the hill somewhere imagine how massive these hills are see every flats like a whole place to look there's stuff all over them I found more piles of rock back there see we're right over the river I think I got to go down this way and over the hill to the house foundation so you see we're not even to the top of the hill and there's a house right in here someplace I got to find it I came in it from a different direction and kind of lost my bearings here I'm on my property right now I think I got to go that way oh you're in here I think I need to go right up there hopefully because I'm getting tired let me look at this no I don't think that's it I think I need to go over this way there's a little fingers running down these two and coves back in here creeks there's multiple streams on my property but I thought I needed to go up this ridge but I think I need to go up in here somewhere maybe right up here I was just a little off and you know I know where my house is at down there it's just judging it on the side of this massive hill you can't these things are huge I could walk up in here all day like I said well I think I needed to go back that way but look at this I saw this from a distance and walked into it it's a buck skull with those horns on it how awesome is that and it's nice man they're not chewed on or nothing and you'd think it would be up in here that's awesome I have to think about where I need to get there and look and see where my house is at and see where this house foundation if I walk from my house up in I know how to get here but I did a big loop around you know what I mean but man I don't see any other ones you can usually spot them this year I saw that you know just plain as day that's an awesome find this is just one of the days that I'm walking around with my metal detector in all metal mode on sides of hills where there's house foundations with the hoops of finding another one and I did a big loop up into areas I haven't been and walked the ridge top and didn't see much and now I don't know where the house foundation is at where I'm standing here now that I was going to so I'll probably just call it a trip I'll have to walk into it another day yeah right down there right at the end of this hallway here and that point I was going up was the right one I was right on the right spot and it didn't look right to me because I haven't been up there for like a year and it fooled me I come in from it from the wrong way I'll get back up here and dig out that old house foundation but I'm too tired in this one at least I found something that racks nice yeah I just sat I'm closer down to my house now but I'd come back here and just play in the woods behind my house look at this see this rock outcropping here look at them weird like nodules of I think it's limestone laying in there look at them that's weird now look at this the stuff that's falling down look right here look at this beautiful fern fossil set and there's probably I'll see if I can't find a few you're taking I'll see with a good camera now just look at this I don't even have a raw camera I hit this on a piece of that and look at the ferns in this in this spot look at the like there's three right there in a row there's one there's just so many fun yeah this stuff's pretty cool isn't it look at the fern fossil right there it's how detailed they are and look there's like grass or something there some kind of reed this is right behind my house see there's more stuff in the back and in here what the heck's that right there oh no see this is pretty fossil-rich material well look at that fern fossils right there and that's like a blade of grass or wood or something I'll show you I'm gonna I even got I think that might be bark or some kind of tree bark or something there's this layer right here see this kind of I don't know what that crusty layer and then above it sandstone right in here is full of fossils see the layer it's just goes all the way probably every little slips got this well look at this that's that's like a piece of wood or a reed you see all the ferns around it some kind of blade of like grass and look it's all there it's just laying there the whole piece see that's so awesome let's see you can see the cross section of it even if anybody knows exactly what probably some kind of water weed something like that like a cattail that's what it looks like to me but something you know more primitive and you know this is cool see look at that it's a little fern it's kind of odd looking isn't it probably other stuff in there I can I'll take a knife up in there see now look at this look at all that stuff going on you can see fossils take a knife up in there a rock hammer and split some more of it but look at all them ferns well this is this is pretty awesome here look there's this like the stem and branches coming off of it that's pretty cool pretty cool indeed see I show you some of the stuff here I brought some of it down I think I'm going to get a big riker mount and make a real nice display maybe try to sell some of this stuff see another piece with the stem and all the pieces going out that's so cool and that might be off some kind of fern like tree because I'll show you I found some bark too I think impressions we'll look at that next but see look at the detail these ferns something else right there in the back see here see there's another fern right there now let me go get see there's a like a blade of grass it looks like it's hard to tell what's up there but let me get the like bark impressions well look at that fern right there but this is what I was talking about if you see the pattern there looks like scales or something but I think that's tree like a tree bark like a wide like say it's got little say it it looks like dinosaur scales or something but I think it's tree bark and it would have had like a fern type top like a like a palm tree maybe it's just a guess on my part but I've looked at looked at pictures as a kid and I remember everything I say I've seen pictures of stuff with bark like that with a so maybe that's what we're into I don't know and see here's some more impressions of it I don't know if you can see that on there it's hard see it right in through here all that some kind of bark I think and it's hard to tell what's up in there it's some pretty cool stuff huh look I'm back from the woods and squirrel man got nuts from the woods and he's gonna hide them and do his thing look here folks he's got the buckeye there'll be two of them in there look here squirrel man's got the the buckeye opened up he's liking this good thing I went up there squirrel man got him some nuts for winter it's my pet squirrel
