said the way to overcome fear was with the power of positive thinking that's what this is i'm a monster well yeah the video said to repeat strong words and statements until i feel brave and how's it working it's not no offense leo but your team has lost most of your games why are you scared to play today what layla have you seen the scorpions they're not just undefeated they're huge and play really aggressive they can't be that bad they foul so hard all my friends who've played them said we're dead i know two kids who got their wind knocked out playing the scorpions sounds like they play right the other team is a lot bigger than her she's afraid of getting hurt and she wants to quit oh it's me who's scared and you young man are simply dressed in full football uniform with bizarre markings on your face for support i'm sure okay it's me who's scared i didn't want you to know i'm a coward you haven't quit yet you're no coward if you never surrender there's still time for you to find courage but i'm really afraid of playing against the scorpions there's nothing wrong with fear there's nothing wrong with anxiety but there's everything wrong with giving up or hiding from duty courage is doing what you know to be right despite the fear you feel what if your opponent is big and scary and aggressive young man german chancellor adolf hitler and the nazis are very big very scary and most aggressive but i cannot back down from them you're fighting hitler i know he's one of history's biggest bad guys but what did he do again he and his followers the nazis have started world war ii and have plans to rule over europe and perhaps even try and take over the world what's hitler's deal he has a sick belief that the german people are better than everyone else and that non-germans especially jewish people should be killed that's terrible why do people listen to him for years he has created scapegoats that means blaming others and making them appear as enemies twenty years ago germany was in bad shape after losing world war one but instead of facing up to their errors and learning from their mistakes hitler provided an alternative he played the blame game precisely you said he's been making these goats for years scapegoats whatever why didn't anyone try to stop him before war broke out people lacked courage miss layla they wanted the world to be as they hoped instead of how it is i recognized immediately that hitler is an evil rat and gave warnings but my opinion wasn't popular people were afraid to hear my words because after the horrors of world war one they were afraid of conflict were you made prime minister because your prediction about hitler came true i have been chosen to lead great britain for the reason you have come to visit me courage it wasn't easy to speak my unpopular opinions of hitler and the war but i knew it was the right thing to do so i overcame apprehension and was brave in fact i used to be fearful of even speaking at all why were you afraid of talking in my younger days i had great difficulty pronouncing words with the letter s did you have a lisp i did and it was a great source of embarrassment for me and the mere thought of speaking and stumbling on the s sound once paralyzed me with fear did you conquer your fear by saying she sells seashells down by the seashore close over and over i recited the attack part of my job is to inspire courage speaking to the british people the nazis are really scary this bombing is terrifying how are you helping your people be brave by reminding them of their duty which is simply do your best at things you can control children winning or losing are all too often out of an individual's hands therefore focusing on outcomes is unwise what matters far more is preparation and effort you're prepared leo you've worked hard my best match was in a loss i scored a hat-trick i was disappointed we didn't win but i did my duty and felt good overall top draw miss layla children a few months ago the nazis forced our military out of france it was a disastrous defeat but our evacuation at dunkirk was heroic against all odds we rescued over 300 000 of our troops and so when i addressed the nation to explain the defeat i was honest but hopeful and as you can see we're giving it our all and we're not giving up what did you say to give people strength maybe it'll help me well first a little over a month ago when i took office i promised nothing but blood toil tears and sweat will you promise the same against the scorpions leo um seems intense but yeah even if they pound me i know i can be tough and then after dunkirk i addressed the nation preparing them for this attack we are currently facing and said we shall fight on the seas and oceans we shall fight with growing confidence and strength in the air we shall defend our island whatever the cost may be we shall fight on the beaches we shall fight on the landing grounds we shall fight in the fields and in the streets we shall fight in the hills we shall never surrender well we're just playing on the soccer field but thank you mr churchill i see why you're such a famous leader i understand my duty to play hard for my team and for myself and i shall never surrender too good form young chap let's get going leo the prime minister has a lot on his hands and you need to get to the scorpions bye mr churchill thank you bye sir goodbye children how was the match well leo your eye are you okay i'm so good we played so good the scorpions won but we held them to three goals nobody's done that and i almost scored two goals myself one off the post i'd say it was our finest hour that's great leo i'm so proud of you but what about your eye my eye oh yeah this it's no big deal i was playing
