Hello it's Missy!
Thank you for watching.
To begin this hairstyle, I'm going to pick up a section of hair on the left side of the
part line and create a braid going down towards my ear.
I'm picking up a section and dividing it into three equal pieces and I'm going to begin
a regular Dutch braid, crossing the side strands under the middle strand while bringing in
new sections of hair.
The difference I'm going to add is that I'm going to cross the front strand under the
middle strand twice in a row before crossing the back strand under the middle.
Typically you alternate crossing the side strands under the middle but I'm going to
double up on the front side strand to create a different looking braid.
So I'm crossing the back strand under the middle and including a new section of hair.
Then I'm crossing the front strand under the middle.
Then I'm going to cross the front strand under the middle again and bring in a new section
of hair.
I'm working my way along the hairline until it reaches the top of my ear and then I'm
going to stop incorporating new sections into the braid and continue the cross under pattern
working down towards the end of the section.
I wanted to mimic some of the braids I've been seeing on Pinterest.
They don't always look like they're doable or real because they are probably AI generated
but I'm going to try my best to kind of create a more intricate style braid that you wouldn't
typically see.
I'm working my way along the hairline until it reaches the top of my ear and then I'm
going to stop incorporating new sections into the braid and continue the cross under pattern
working down towards the end of the section.
When the braid reaches the ends of my hair I'm going to slide a couple bobby pins over
the bottom so it doesn't unravel.
And now I'm going to repeat the same steps and create the same style braid on the right
side of the part.
I'm picking up a section and dividing it into three equal pieces and I'm going to begin
a regular Dutch braid crossing the side strands under the middle strand while bringing in

When the braid reaches the ends of my hair I'm going to slide a couple bobby pins over
the bottom so it doesn't unravel.
When both braids are done I'm going to bring them around to the back of the head and tie
them together using an elastic band.
Now for the side braid portion I didn't want to do a regular braid I wanted to kind of
create a braid so I'm going to split the hair into four equal sections and with two sections
in the center I'm going to have these slightly forwards and then the other two sections on
the ends back behind and I'm going to begin by crossing the left forward strand over the
right forward strand so the two middle sections.
Now I'm going to reach underneath and take the back left strand and cross it under bringing
it across and then over the right forward strand crossing it in between the two forward
sections or the two middle sections.
Then I'm dropping down the furthest left section now.
I'm reaching under and picking up the back right strand and I'm going to bring it underneath
on the left side and cross it over into the middle of the two middle sections.
I'm creating a three strand braid effect but I'm alternating which side strand is being
crossed over and into the middle so I'm taking the next side strand that's further back crossing
it underneath and around the side of the two forward sections before crossing it over and
into the middle of the two middle pieces.
I'm going to alternate this pattern crossing the back side strand around the opposite side
of the two more forward sections before crossing it over the side forward section and into
the middle of them.
Once the braid goes all the way down towards the end of the hair I'm going to tie off the
bottom of the braid with a clear elastic band.
Now I'm going to go back over the braid and gently loosen the sides of each section.
I'm just very gently pulling the hair up and out so that they become more pronounced and
the braid looks fuller overall.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
