DHS Sec. Kristi Noem visits Broadview ICE facility as protestors pushed into new 'free speech zone'

Well, good morning. We saw at least four protesters being detained out here this morning. You can see as Protesters as well as state patrol officers and the Cook County Sheriff's Office are kind of at a standoff right now They're not letting them block that driveway here now Things have actually been relatively calm compared to the last three or four weeks that we've been out here covering these Protests and it was also pretty quiet when Secretary Noem was here From high in the sky, you can see Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem along with the lead agent in charge of Operation Midway Blitz, Gregory Bovino Surrounded by federal agents on the roof of the immigration processing facility in Broadview as well as a fixed gun That's apparently the United States government We're barely united at this point I can hardly call it government What it's been is the politics of division this morning elected leaders from the Chicago area and protesters held a press conference that touched on all aspects of Isis presence Conditions inside the facility and the addition of the so-called free speech zones Surrounded by concrete barriers. We've been forced into a free speech zone It's very existence implies that everywhere else is a non free speech zone That there are places where our First Amendment rights do not apply Over the past month clashes between protesters and federal agents have Escalated Isis used tear gas rubber bullets and pepper balls to clear paths for their transport vehicles The government is waging war on its population They started it by abducting people from our community and they continue to escalate against protesters journalists and elected officials Homeland Security says it is enforcing immigration law and rounding up who they say make up the worst of the worst Undocumented immigrants ice reported more than 900 arrests since Operation Midway Blitz began. This isn't government's chaos And we're only nine months into a four-year term Now there's been a little bit of a development here you can see that Some officers are now Going to the front of this line not exactly sure what is going to happen here, but they do have riot shields Obviously they are in riot gear We're gonna of course continue to monitor this situation here and we will have an update for you at noon for now We are live in Broadview America on WGN news
