My name is Michael Jackson, though not the one you think you know.
I come from a small, quiet village called Rhythm Hill,
a place where the trees hum in the wind
and the soil remembers the footsteps of every soul that ever walked on it.
I grew up watching people dream big dreams,
dreams of fame, of stages, of applause,
of bright lights that touch the eyes but never truly warm the heart.
And as I grew older, I saw something funny,
something sad.
You see, the world moves too quickly,
too quickly for memories to stay still,
too quickly for names to live long,
too quickly for hearts to remember the hands that once held them.
I have watched people rise like the morning sun,
glowing with promise,
and disappear just as quietly,
replaced by another rising star before their shadows even settled.
It's strange how a person can shine so brightly
and yet be forgotten the moment they stop glowing.
I find myself wondering,
do you remember people because you love them
or because the world tells you to love them?
Some of you know me, Michael Jackson, from Rhythm Hill.
Some of you don't.
Some of you probably wish you had never met me.
And some of you,
some of you wish you had met me at least once.
But let me tell you something that hurts more than loneliness.
Nobody wants to know what is happening in the life of their favorite people
while they're still alive.
Celebrities, stars, leaders, actors, singers,
you see them smile on a screen and paint your walls with their posters,
and you forget they are human?
You forget they cry.
You forget they break.
You forget they bleed.
You forget they hide pain behind rehearsed laughter
because the world has no patience for sadness in a famous face.
People say they love you,
but they only remember to show it when you're gone.
When you die, suddenly you are a legend.
Suddenly you are the love of their lives.
Suddenly the world claims you.
The same world that never asked if you had eaten,
never asked if your heart slept peacefully,
never asked if the applause you heard drowned your loneliness
or deepened it.
And so I speak today not as a star,
not as a name you recognize,
but as a human being whose heart has been both celebrated
and painfully ignored.
Please, your favorite celebrities are humans too.
Let it not be about just taking pictures.
Let it not be about posting them online to prove you stood beside their shadow.
Ask them how they're doing.
Ask them if they're coping.
Ask them if the world has been kind.
Ask them if they need a moment,
not as a fan, but as a fellow human soul.
Because behind every spotlight is a person blinded by it.
To those who care,
to those who remember to look beyond the music,
beyond the laughter,
beyond the stage,
this is my song to you.
To my fans, to my family,
to the strangers who gave me kindness
without asking for anything in return.
Thank you.
Thank you for seeing me.
Not the fame.
Not the name.
Not the story others told about me.
But me.
And if there is one thing I want the world to learn,
before my own memory fades from Rhythm Hill,
love people while they are living.
Celebrate them while they can still hear the applause.
Ask about their hearts before the world stops it for them.
Because when they are gone,
your love becomes a whisper carried by the wind.
Beautiful, but too late for the one who needed it most.
I grew up in Rhythm Hill
Where the sunsets never fade
Where the children chase tomorrow
Through the echoes in the shade
And I dreamed a dream so heavy
It could lift me off the ground
But no one asked me if my smile was real
When the crowd came around
People cheered my name like thunder
But silence filled my home
And I danced for all the strangers
While my heart broke all alone
It's funny how the world forgets
The stories of your pain
But they remember all the bitter
They forget you're just the same
So if you love me
Let me know
Before I'm gone
Before the world pretends they knew me all along
Ask me how I'm doing
Hold my heart before it breaks
Cause the spotlight steals the warmth that real love makes
Don't wait to cry my name when I can't hear the sound
Love me
Love me now
Before I'm gone
Some knew me, some denied me
Some wished we never met
Some prayed for just a moment
They remember never forgetting
But nobody sees the shadows dancing underneath the light
Nobody asks a superstar
If he sleeps alone at night
They take pictures of my body
Never pictures of my soul
They want memories for their pages
But they never make me whole
And when life becomes too heavy
People turn the other way
But when I'm gone
They'll say they love me
More with every day
So if you love me
Let me know
Before I'm gone
Before the world pretends they knew me all along
Ask me how I'm doing
Hold my heart before it breaks
Cause the spotlight steals the warmth that real love makes
Don't wait to cry my name when I can't hear the sound
Love me
Love me now
Before I'm gone
It's so funny how the world moves on
How the empty space you leave
Gets filled the moment you're done
But the ones who truly care
They're the ones who held the line
This song is for you
For your love
For your time
So if you love me
Let me know
Before I'm gone
Not in flowers
Not in stories passed along
Tell me that I mattered
While this heartbeat still belongs
To the people who believed in me when everything went wrong
Don't wait to cry my name when I can't hear the sound
Love me
Love me now
