We focus on the next three nights here at the Napa Speedway.
The top 12, the top three from each of our flights are qualifying, with B-Rock on the
outside of the front row with Marcus Dumsley.
18 laps ahead of us at night one of the Napa Speedway begins now.
Critical start situation, more so than it probably ever has been.
Howlett, your lead up.
Just watching a squeeze through on the inside is McFadden on Dumsley, coming up to Brock.
Howlett, new race leader.
Boy, James McFadden did not mess around there.
The Napa one car into the race lead.
Howlett now Dumsley back to Goodyard.
Incisive move from the Aussie champ as he leads through here on the third lap at the
Napa Speedway in the Napa one.
Here comes Marcus on the inside of Brock.
Howlett finds the slick stuff and that's the first hint of smoke from the slick part of
the track.
Marcus goes up into second.
Watching Howlett trying to come back on Marcus.
You know, it's just a wicked concept.
We were too wide through there on a sprint car race at a place that's built on top of
a cricket oval in the Adelaide Parklands.
It's just mega.
Howlett shuts the door again at turn three and four, and watch behind because John Goodyear
is going to arrive on the scene and here he is, the Thursday night winner in 2024.
Ouch, that was awkward.
Through the middle of turn two and to the back straight while McFadden leads and eases
away from the field.
It was just over a second last time by Howlett, Dumsley and Goodyear running second, third
and fourth with 12 and a half remaining.
You know, Noel, this is not a main event per se, right?
It's more of a teaser, but it's redemption right now for McFadden who had all sorts of
dramas last year at this event in the Napa car.
So for me, it feels like this is already redemption for James.
100%.
Through turn four and past the start-finish line, here comes Howlett with a left-on-wheel
stand from the wall cam into turn number one.
Behind Goodyear is Cormann, then Field, Dumsley, McHugh charge and Dylan Menz doing double
duties as they work their way down towards turn one once again.
The Aussie champ coming up to the first of the lap cars with nine laps to go.
This is your first real multi-car situation for the sprint cars tonight with eight laps
to go.
Very narrow groove getting in just there.
Dumsley still trying to come back in Howlett.
Then go back to Goodyear, then Jai Cormann.
Jai's been under the radar a bit tonight.
He was very strong in qualifying, hence why he's out there now.
So once Marcus gone for Howlett, this has been a great drive for the GW Racing car.
He won't catch McFadden tonight.
Extending the lead out to three seconds with Cormann still running in fifth position.
What's been a fairly clean affair from the Dirty Dozen here tonight in this 18-lap journey.
Goodyear on the inside of that kerb once again, down the back straight.
Meantime, here's Newton about to go a lap down from the Aussie champ out of turn two.
Gee, that number one car is loaded up on the right rear coming off the corners, isn't it?
He's now coming after Menz.
He picks up the front wheels as well.
There's still plenty of traction out there.
McFadden coming after Menz.
Just squeezes by.
Just so smooth.
One of the best talents to ever come out of Australia.
Remember, these points don't carry on to tomorrow night.
It's virtually a reward race for tonight for you.
The fans are coming out.
Good point.
It'll be two laps to go this time for McFadden.
They'll learn more from this to take it to tomorrow night.
Whoa, almost in front of our leader.
We go yellow with two laps remaining.
And that was Jordan Charge, who was, I think, up against the wall.
He drove away, but we went yellow.
Here we go again.
Cool to have both the Dubsney boys in the main as we see Marcus trying to go around the topside on Halliday.
Might as well have a crack.
Now, good job.
So look at Marcus trying to make it stick up there.
Got Mouse Green on the spanners and also Robbie Farr helping out tonight as well.
Corbin right behind Goodyear.
Well done, Marcus.
Watch for Halland.
Didn't even blink an eye.
He'll switch a room, and he hasn't given up yet.
Halland making him go around the long way with one remaining.
For the Aussie champ, look how quick McFadden has pulled away here.
And it's going to be victory at night number one with a wheel stand.
Four tenths off your next lap, sir, as he picks up the win.
What?
Night number one.
That's just showing off.
Aussie champ wins.
And that is a very, very good job.
Come on, South Australia.
Put your hands together for him.
It's almost like a heat race to him.
Gets out very fresh.
Taps on the PCB logo on the top notch.
Tonight's been cool.
Great drive, and that puts a lot of confidence in Team Brady Racing going into night two.
