V12 Lamborghini Revuelto vs V8 McLaren 765LT DRAG RACE

G'day, I'm Paul. This is a Lamborghini Revolto. That is a McLaren 765LT. So if you don't know, this is the replacement for the Aventador. This has naturally aspirated V12, but three electric motors, two on the front axle, one at the rear. It is a certified beast, and now it has a dual clutch transmission as well. Elborz 765LT, bit of an old car, but that thing was incredibly fast the last time we were here drag racing. It was, mate. It was actually cooking in the centre, if you remember. So I have high hopes, but I'm also slightly terrified of that Revolto, because it has been pretty quick. I don't know. Let's see. I'm quietly confident, at least in the roll race. But let's see what happens. Well, rear wheel drive for you, all wheel drive for me. You've got a twin turbo V8, so it's going to be close. It is, and that car is super warm, and this car is not super warm as usual, because that's how Marik likes to run these things. So let's just see how I go. Big shout out to our mate Lawrence, who has been a legend and given us access to any of his cars to do this stuff, and it is genuinely unreal. As a reminder, this is an unprepped surface, so you are not going to see the times that you see with these cars at drag strips. It is going to be much slower, because there is very little traction here, but unfortunately it's all we have access to. Okey-dokey. Megan, count us in. Here we go. Launching on go. Three, two, one, go. No traction at all. I fear that was a traction issue more than anything, because once you were moving, I just kept looking in my mirror, and I'm like, oh, he is getting closer and closer and closer. Man, if I could just get this thing to start moving, you have no hope in hell at all. Let's do one more launch, because I know that last time we tested that car, it took sort of three or four runs before the tyres were warm enough for it to actually get a clean launch. So, we'll give that one more crack, and let's see how we go. Launching on go. Three, two, one, go. Oh, come on. No traction. It's unbelievable. I cannot launch. That car is just unbelievable off the start line. What can I say? Traction champ? Mate, I don't know what that car is doing, but it seems to have absolutely no issues gripping up every time first time and going. But this car, on the other hand, is definitely struggling. So, one more time, man. One more time. All right, I'll let you have one more shot. Launch on go. Three, two, one, go. Come on, come on. Come on. Why are you always losing traction? Ah. God damn it. What could possibly be the excuse now? Go on. I don't know. I just don't know. I want to win something. The way that car launches, I don't really know what car you need to be able to beat it, because it gets such an advantage off the line that by the time you catch up to it, it's too late. So, my spidey senses are telling me you're probably going to win the next thing, which is the rolling race, because just the way that that thing is improving as more heat gets in the tyres tells me that the rolling race may be where this ends for the Lambo. Now, rolling race time. We're going to go up to 30 k's an hour. The second we get to that first white line, it is going to be on for young and old. So, I'm in manual first gear. Alborz, he's going to be in manual as well, and we'll see what happens. All right, let's go. Come on, baby. Come on, catch up. Catch up. Come on. Yes! Oh, come on! How is that thing so quick?
