All right, here with Andrew Yang after the debate.
So you introduced Democracy Dollars a long time ago.
Now, this week, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren come out with campaign finance reform
proposals that include vouchers, that include matching funds.
Are they trying to steal your thunder?
Well, to me, I'm thrilled when other candidates adopt my ideas.
You know, I just want to solve the problems.
And Democracy Dollars is a great idea.
We have to wash out all the corporate lobbyist cash.
Rules won't cut it.
We have to have a flood of people-powered money and make it so that we actually own
our Congress again.
Now, there was talk about Amazon tonight bringing them up, not bringing them up.
You often talk about how they pay zero dollars in taxes, and that's unfair.
How do you get them to pay their taxes?
You take away the loopholes.
What do you do to make that happen?
We do what every other advanced economy has already done, which is have a value-added
tax that then gives us a slice of every Amazon sale, every Google search, every Facebook
ad.
And there's no way around it.
That's why other countries love this stuff.
It's like oxygen.
If you're selling to us, then you have to pay it.
Right now, the problem is that the corporate income tax system is so easy to game because
they always just zero out their profits.
They send their profits through Ireland.
They pay their executives in stock options and stock compensation that ends up bringing
their expenses up and their profits down.
So we have to be smarter than them.
And every other country that's looked at this has figured out that we have to have a toll
in place.
And that's what we would do under my administration.
All right.
I love TYT.
This man is the truth.
If he says it, it's gone from there.
