Hello everyone. Today we are going to learn how to write an argumentative letter.
It is a letter in which, by giving his opinion and trying to convince someone.
Let's see together how to do it.
The argumentative letter. What is the use of an argumentative letter?
Imagine that you really want something.
How do you convince adults to give you what you want?
By writing a letter. This is what we call an argumentative letter.
We use it to explain why we want something and to convince others to say yes, to accept.
This means that we are talking here about the recipient, the one who receives the letter.
We try to convince him to give us reason.
An argumentative letter follows several steps.
First, the beginning, where we put these coordinates.
Then, the introduction that explains the subject and what we want to say.
In the development, we give our arguments with examples.
Finally, the conclusion summarizes our ideas and can ask the recipient to act.
For example, you want to write a letter to ask for the creation of a football team in your school.
An argumentative letter follows a precise plan.
We start with the beginning with your name, class, date and place.
The recipient here is the name of the one who will receive the letter.
We speak here of the school principal.
The object here is the subject of the letter.
Then, in the introduction, you present your ideas.
In the development, you give arguments why this idea is important.
Finally, in the conclusion, you summarize your ideas and ask for an answer.
So, to convince, you have to choose good arguments.
These arguments must be clear and supported.
For example, if you want to persuade your principal to create a sports club,
explain why it is beneficial for the students.
For example, we love football and we want to play together.
Sport is good for health.
It teaches us to work as a team.
It allows us to make new friends.
Here is an example of the letter.
In the introduction, you write that we want a football team for our school.
Then, you give your arguments like
football encourages team spirit and it is good for the health of the students.
Finally, you conclude by saying
we hope you agree.
With this structure, your letter will be clear and convincing.
Bravo!
