Today was one of those slow, rainy days in Seoul that reminded me to breathe a little deeper and take things at my own pace. I’ve been feeling the pressure of work lately, so I gave myself a gentle reset: a simple solo date.
I started my morning slow, with tea and journaling, then headed out into the rain for a little inspiration. I stopped by Joe’s Lounge and picked up a new pair of pyjamas. I ended up at a cozy café, reading my book by the window while the rain fell outside. It felt like exactly what I needed: space to think, unwind, and reconnect with myself. I also visited the MMCA and wandered through the galleries.
If you’ve been trying to balance work and life in Korea (or anywhere), I hope this video feels like a breath of fresh air. 💛

✨ If you enjoyed this vlog, don’t forget to like, subscribe, and join me on more cozy days in Seoul.
I currently checked this morning and I have 9,984 subscribers.
I can't believe 10,000 people want to watch my videos.
But recently my skin has been so dry because the weather in Korea has become
suddenly very very cold. So my skin's not as like hydrated as it used to be.
And I made myself a cup of chamomile tea this morning because my throat has been so
sensitive and I feel like I need some hot tea.
And today I'm going to be doing a vlog about finding my balance between work and life in
Korea because I feel like these days I've been so busy with work and I haven't had time to
go to the places that I've been wanting to visit or just kind of spending time by myself.
Because I feel like when you have a full-time job it's hard to
balance the things that you want to do because on weekends everyone wants to meet and go out
and I feel like you just end up having no time for yourself.
So today I've taken the day off work and I had a bit of a lie in.
I wasn't supposed to sleep that long.
I'm currently getting ready to go out.
I've made a list of things that I want to do today and also in Korea I feel like it's hard
to keep a work-life balance because of the overall culture of just working super hard
and like staying overtime. But I feel like it's definitely a very different culture
to for example the UK, Europe or the US.
So a lot of my foreign friends, like internationals who live in Korea,
they also do have quite a hard time with dealing with the Korean work-life balance
or expectations that their company might have on them.
I think I'm going to wear this white skirt and this jumper because it's quite cold today.
I'm going to take my camera, my hand cream, a lip balm, lip tint, headphones
and I'm also going to take my book and it's over there.
I bought this bag in Bali when I went with my dad and it's one of my favourite bags because
I feel like it fits so much and it's like the perfect, it has like the perfect shoulder strap
so it's very comfortable to carry around and this is real snake skin.
I literally wear it all the time.
Also on the topic of work-life balance, I feel like a lot of people in their 20s
really try to prioritise the work.
I feel like when we're so connected with the work part of our lives,
we start to lose the part where we create and we do things that we love.
I met one of my friends yesterday, she's also working in Korea
and she was saying that she wakes up at 5am every day
just so she can have three hours of time by herself before she goes to work.
So today I'm just taking some time for myself and yeah,
I feel like it's nice to sometimes have days like this where things move a little bit slower.
I'm gonna read a bit of my book and just enjoy the view.
It's really rainy today which is nice, it reminds me to slow down a bit.
I'm just looking at the different autumn leaves outside.
I was gonna eat lunch before I came to a cafe
but the rain was just too much and I didn't bring an umbrella
so this cafe is in the same building that the pajama shop was in.
So I just checked my YouTube a few minutes ago and I hit 10,000 subscribers
which is like so crazy to me.
I just wanted to thank you guys for watching my videos and commenting and liking and all of that.
I can't even imagine that 10,000 people think my videos are fun or interesting enough to subscribe
but I'm so so so thankful.
I'm currently at the Korean MMCA art gallery.
It's actually so good here because if you're under 24 you can get free entrance.
So they usually have a bunch of different exhibitions and stuff going on
and today they had an exhibition, I can't remember the name of it
but it was like a lot to do with raindrops and droplets of water.
I feel whenever I come to an art gallery I always feel like inspired.
I'm in this booth kind of thing, there's like only me in here
so I thought it's a good place to film.
I think they have like diaries and stuff that you can write in
because there's like a pencil in here but there's no notebook.
So I think it's over there, I'm gonna go bring it, wait.
It's actually so hot in my house right now
but I thought before I get changed into my pajamas I would do a quick unboxing.
I feel like it's always good to have some good quality pajamas
because it's what you sleep in every day.
So they came in this nice bag and it has like this stitching at the bottom.
So I bought two different types of pajamas,
one are red with roses on it and one is blue with another kind of flower.
They're so cute and they were on sale for Black Friday
and the shop that I got them from is called Joe's Lounge.
They have two stores.
I'm gonna try these on and then show you how they look.
So this is how my pajamas look.
I think they're so cute, I love them.
But yeah, thank you for watching my vlog today.
I'm probably just going to read a bit of my book and probably head to sleep soon.
See you in the next one.
