When the brain writes horror movies, for
God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound
mind. To Timothy 1:7, thought of the
day. Some people have creative brains
that write novels or songs. Horror
movies starring internal script is
dramatic, relentless, and usually
inaccurate. The body reacts as if each
scene is truly happening. heart
pounding, muscles tense, mind racing.
Yet, according to God, fear is not the
director in charge. He has given us a
different spirit, one of power, love,
and a sound mind. A sound mind doesn't
mean a brain that never struggles. It
means a mind anchored by truth, even
when the waves of fear crash against it.
When anxiety speaks catastrophizing
voice, these horror stories are just
being realistic. If you prepare for the
worst, you won't be surprised. It's
safer to always expect disaster. Truth.
God's voice. God is not the author of
terror in my mind. He doesn't script
scenes of pure hopelessness. He says you
will know the truth and the truth will
set you free. John 8:32. Truth doesn't
deny danger exists. It just refuses to
live as if danger is the main character.
Gratitude prompt. Today I will thank God
for one time when reality turned out
kinder than my imagination. Lord, thank
you that in the situation with
underscore, truth is gentler than the
story we tell ourselves. Prayer. Jesus,
you see the horror movies my mind plays.
You know how convincing they feel. Today
I ask you to sit in the cinema of my
thoughts and gently press pause. Teach
me to recognize when fear is directing
the story instead of your spirit. Help
me to receive the sound mind you offer.
Not a perfect mind, but a mind held
together by your truth. Rewrite my inner
script with your love.
