THE MOST SOLD ARCHERY SIGHT

Welcome to today's video everyone. Kind of a different video, but we are back with a Lancaster
archery supply unboxing where they send me a product and I unbox it and give my honest review.
Let's open this up. Boy, oh boy. We have the TruGlo Carbon XS Extreme. Let's see one, two,
three, four, five pin sight. This supposedly is the most sold sight on Lancaster archery,
at least that's what PJ says. He's probably lying to me because he's that sort of dog,
but here we are. This, and I was like, you know what, it'd be kind of cool to unbox a more budget
friendly sight, like a five pin sight and kind of do a review on it. TruGlo obviously has been
around a long time. TruGlo is more of your like budget friendly style archery accessories. You
got releases and sights and stabilizers, maybe some other things. So kind of like your sub
hundred dollar products. This is, this is what this is. So what we're going to do,
we're going to open this up, do a review on it, but we also have our friendly budget bow
that is a kind of claim to fame and has kind of proven itself to be an absolute killer,
killer of a shot. So we'll take off this landslide and UV three, throw that on,
shoot it and get it sighted in and whatnot. We are going to open this up.
Looks like they've left this little safety thing on here. I don't know what that is. We'll just
have to cut around it. And there it is. That is all as to the packaging. Let's see, is any of this
ultra lightweight carbon composite construction? Oh, that is super light. If y'all like that is,
I'm not kidding. That's stupid light. I've, I've never felt that before. True touch, soft
field coating. It does have like a super soft coating on it. Micro push button, light batteries
included. Then we have new TruGlo fiber design. Fiber is really bright. Extra long fibers for
maximum brightness, large circular field of view. Aperture has a 1.9 inch inner diameter.
I'm guessing that's like a 40 millimeter scope. Level with two vertical bars, reversible bracket
for greater versatility and adjustability. And glow in the dark shooter's ring for both left
and right hand shooters. Product instructions included. Man, actually a lot of features in
here. So yeah, initial impressions, stupid light. I don't even know how light this is,
but it is stupid light. We have multiple adjustments to essentially bolt it onto your
bow. If you want some different vertical adjustment, you got a little bit to mess with
and obviously front and back, the front and back. The fiber is super exposed here, which is good
and bad. I mean, me just touching it. If a branch got in there, you could definitely
jag some of that out, but it at least exposes a bunch of it to the sun, which is good. We have
little tiny bubble in there, which I like a bigger bubble. So we'll have to see if that
little one is good enough. We have a lot of left and right adjustment here, but it is just a break
loose with a big bolt right there. And then it obviously breaks loose and then you got to slide
it back and forth. It looks like very simple pin adjustment. You loosen it, bump it up and down.
And these pins just all move, just break it loose, move it up and down. So very simple
adjustments, very simple site. Oh, let's check out this light here. Battery's included.
The battery's already in it. Oh, it's a button. It's kind of flickering.
Strange. So let's put that back on. Screws in the side. Let's see if it doesn't.
Absolutely nothing. It's probably too bright in here. Let's cover up. I just want to see.
Cannot tell the difference. So that light, maybe we'll do something in low light, but
those are very, very bright as is right now. Okay. Well, that is pretty much the full review. Very
simple site. I'm sure it'll do the job. So let's go ahead and get this thing mounted. So like I
said, we have a landslide on here. Pop it off. We have a landslide with the HHA bracket with the UV
scope. Total mix match. So pop this off. And unlike the dovetail styled sites that have an
extra bracket, this TruGlo one, you have to bolt directly to the bow. You cannot, if you wanted to
remove it, you would have to completely unbolt it, which you could do, but you don't really want to
do that. So it looks like we just have some simple bolts here that kind of look like galvanized,
not stainless steel or something. They look different than usual. Let's use our handy dandy
bow press, bow vise here that we just got. This thing is underrated. Honestly, if you guys do not
have this vise for an at-home pro shop, you have to get it. Link down below for Lancaster Rotary
Supply. Okay. So this dealio just mounts right here. And like I was saying, there's three different
holes. So you can do there, you can do there, or you can do there. I honestly will probably do just
these front ones right here, just because, I don't know, just because I'll start with this and if we run
into issues, then I'll try to remove the other ones if we can't get the up and down, up and down pins
in the right spot. So we'll just tighten these down. So I'm guessing you don't want to really
like wrench on this because of carbon composite material. I'm getting it tight, pretty tight
feeling compared to aluminum. It's going to just crack instead of bend. Okay. So there we have it.
TruGlo Sight is installed that easy. Honestly, that was pretty dang easy. I mean, you got two
bolts and we're good. So what I'm going to do now is I'm going to get an arrow. I'm just going to
see if our left and rights are close, which they kind of are, but they are definitely all the pins
are to the right. So I'm just going to, I know that I'm going to have to adjust it. So I'm going to
just eyeball it per se right now so that we don't have to do it as big of adjustment later.
So you break this loose and then the whole left right mechanism is now loose. And I'm guessing
got to do more. Wow.
More. That was pretty dang loose. That other one is for the up and down. So it should just
just kind of break loose. Okay. There we go. So you kind of got to,
it's not super, super precise per se. Kind of just got to wiggle it. So just lining up the
string with the arrow. Okay. I went a little too far. Come back a little bit. Do that again.
And that should be close. Kind of set up the pins slightly to the left of your string. It's kind of
how it always shakes out. Cause when you get to full draw, the riser is put under some stress
and some bend and then everything kind of aligns. If you look at your like bow setup right now,
typically if you were to line it up, the pins always sit slightly to the left of your string.
Okay. Left and right is good. What we're going to do now is shoot the thing. So we are going to
shoot in here at just like eight yards, get a quick little sight in and then we'll run it
outside and see how hard it is to do everything else. And just kind of see how it aims, how it
shoots, how the bubble works. I honestly really like how those pins are lit up though. I mean,
they're lit up super nice. It's five pin and you can get 20 through 60 yards on there. So
it's always good to start at a super close distance as there's the cable guard clicking.
So we're going to start here at like five yards. Okay. That went super high. So I was aiming at
the center of the lungs there and it went very high. So now what we are going to do,
we have a lot of room on this top pin to scooch up. So 10 Allen wrenches,
loosen it. And literally when you loosen it, you can just move it.
So I'm just going to bump it up and see, see what we got going on now. So you can see that
single pins super high now, which actually is good. I'm glad it's this case because we can
bump the 20 up and then bump the 30 and then the 40. And then hopefully by the time we get to like
40 or 50 or 60, we'll be low. So never fun when you got to move all of them all at once or whatever.
I was just aiming in the center of the bag. So I went high, right? Next time I'll like aim at this,
the heart on that morale target. Okay. Still a little high and it went a touch left. This is
going to be my final adjustment before we just go outside. So I'm just going to guess a little bit
more, bump it up a little higher. Going to bump this just a little more to the left.
This rubber coating that's on this site is actually kind of nice.
I think it helps with noise a little bit.
And then also like when you're micro adjusting like this, it doesn't just a hundred percent break
free. Okay. Let's go outside. I'll probably hunt with this, like just throw a little stabilizer
on it and rip it. Okay. 20 yards, 19.4, 19.9. All that good. We're going to get our 20 yard mark.
No release. We got it. Oh man, this would be nice if this was just
cited in. Left to right's good. We're just still really high. That might require some
bigger adjustments. So let's see. We'll see if we can do our pin all the way up
first. I honestly think this is not going to be enough.
We'll try it though. So you can see our pin configuration now. Got one all the way up.
Yeah. Okay. So that's not enough. So we do have this macro adjustment. So this big adjustment
screw right there essentially shifts this all the way up and down like that. So we'll break that
loose. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to bump it a little bit more than we need. And then
I'm going to bring that 20 pin back up a little bit or back down a little bit because it's pretty
high in the housing right now. It's kind of weird to aim with when it's that high in the housing.
Before I do that, I'm going to shoot one more and just kind of see where we're at. See if we
did move it enough or too much or where we're at. Okay. Oh, I moved it the wrong way.
Move it down. Maybe move it up. Try again.
Low. Okay. So I still want to move it a little bit more. Like I said,
because I want to make that 20 pin a little bit more in the center of the little housing.
So we'll do something like that. And then I'm going to take the 20 pin,
bump it down a little bit. So it's a little more in the center.
So you can see, I just bumped it down a little bit. Honestly, I hope I can bump it a little bit
more than that, but good. We can bump it a little bit more now. And this is where that fine tune,
you know, going back and forth comes in, especially with a sight like this,
you can't do clicks or anything. So constantly going to be breaking it loose, but once it's set,
you're good. Just getting there. Sometimes it can be a little frustrating. I'm going to shoot
the right one just so we got a fresh spot. Okay. Right in the top of it. So you just bump it up a
little bit. Okay. So we have our 20 pin pretty nice in the center there. Still up high. So what
I'm going to do preemptively is go ahead and move my 30 pin. Just kind of eyeball and guess
where it's going to be. Probably will be right there. Something like that. So I will shoot my
20 one more time now that I know it should be good after that final adjustment. I'm going to go to
30. Shoot that. It might be a little too close. I think I moved a little bit, but we'll shoot our
30 and just keep on working back. Okay. Last one at 20. Okay. We're in the 10 ring. I'm going to
call that good. We can maybe fine tune it a little bit, you know, if I want to run back through it
and double check, but call that good for now. I'll go to 30, 32, 31, 30. See if my skills of
I'm guessing this we're good enough. No, way low. Oh, eight. I think. Yeah. Okay. Adjustments are
needed. Very simple. Go in here. Loosen. It's good to not break it loose completely. Just enough to
where you can kind of get some pressure on it and slowly move it again. It kind of helps with that,
that over-molded soft rubber they got on the whole shell. Wow. That didn't do anything.
Move it more. So that's about what our 20 or 30 gap looks like now. And we'll see if,
see if we're good. Man, close, but still not, not there. I'm moving a good amount.
Jeez, that's a pretty good drop though. That's what our 20 or 30 distance looks like.
Keep forgetting that this is not my normal bow. It is a much, much lower bow money.
Dead nuts in the middle. Okay. We'll go back to 40 or before I do that, let's move
our projected 40 pin, but here's the problem now. So there, all these pins are stacked up. So I got
drop down, you know, that one all the way. I'll drop that one down all the way.
Then this is my 41 and I can just kind of estimate maybe where that's going to be.
You know, maybe something like that now. So we got our gaps good.
So see where we got. And if this is the gap that I'm going off of, we may have to get 60 yards.
We may have to bump everything back up just a little bit and then readjust. This is the
annoying part of sites like these. It's the site in process. 39, 40. Oh, I think I hit the one in
the middle. Oh yes, sir. Look at that. Our projections worked. I literally hit that other
one that was in the 10 ring. So 20, 30, 40 less. Let's guess if we can get our 50 here. I know we
get our 50, but if we can get our 60, you know, I'll put that one right in the middle there.
That is going to be really close. If that's actually going to be our 50 and our 60 at the
bottom, but honestly it looks pretty dang spaced out. Good. And we might, we might get lucky on
that. So let me pull them and then we'll try our 50 and our 60 and takes 20 minutes to get this
bolted on the bow and sighted in. That ain't bad. Okay. 50, 50.6, 50. Actually,
I looked like it went a little high. Not very high. It was a 10. I'm getting good at this
judging stuff. I'm going to see if I can drop down this 60 pin anymore because I have a feeling we
are going to have to get some more distance out of it. So really jamming it down in the bottom
there. I don't think that gained us any. I mean, gosh, it's going to be like one yard off or it's
going to be perfect. Okay. 60 yards. Moment of truth. Looked pretty good, Riley. Okay. We got
a low nine. So let me see, let's shoot a group and just see kind of how we do there to long
distance. And these are some pretty big pins. They say 19 thousands, but they definitely have
them burned out a little bit. So they are perceived to be bigger. Okay. That was a high
eight. So I think we're right in there somewhere. I'll just shoot these and see if our general group
is in the yellow. I have no stabilizer on and this bow is very light and I'm just a jitter and
some stabilizer on here would be nice. Okay. That last one went in the yellow. I saw that.
Let's go check them out. See how good of a group we are, but I believe that's it. 20,
30, 40, 50, 60 on the True Glow. Super easy. I mean, 20 minutes and we got this thing dialed.
Okay. Not a bad group at all. We might have to move it a little bit to the right,
but this is our 60 yard group with this bow. I'm happy with it and I'm happy with this sight.
Honestly, well, our plan is with this bow is we want to continue this bow
mini series kind of that we're creating. So we are going to do be doing some hunting with this
this year and maybe comment below if you think I should run this site. Also comment below what
other accessories you want me to try out on this bow maybe for this hunting season. So
hope you guys enjoyed this video. If you are looking for a new budget type site, maybe it's
you're getting into archery for the first time. Don't overlook this True Glow site. It'll absolutely
do fine. Link in description. Wow. Link in description below if you're interested. And
as always, big thank you to Lancaster Archery Supply for sending this over
and for being just the OGs of everything. We'll see you guys in the next one.
