Quieting down the famous Glock 17
The specific suppressors used are
an AAC 762-SDN-6 on the 300 AAC Blackout rifle and an AAC Ti-RANT 9 on the Glock.

Man that thing is loud isn't it? I wish there were a way to quiet that thing down a little bit.
And you know what just so happens it has a threaded barrel.
And I'm gonna see what this will do for it. Yeah buddy you know what it is. It's a silencer
suppressor and it's also a Glock 17. You've been wondering why I never have a Glock 17.
Well it's just a little bigger than I need. I love the Glock 19 and that size and 26.
But another model of the 17. It's the one I started out with. I shot a 17 for several
years until Glock invented some other models. So what we're going to look at today though
is a way to quiet them down a little bit. All you have to do switch out the barrel.
Okay this is a lone wolf barrel. I think there are other companies that make them.
Threaded barrel. A little bit longer than the normal Glock 17 barrel.
Put it back in and you screw on this little device. Might help to get the gun back together.
And this is known as a silencer or suppressor. This one happens to be Advanced Armament
Corporation. Okay they're the same outfit that uh that make the 300
Blackout. The AAC Blackout. You know you saw me shoot recently and they're well known for
making quality suppressors. And we have uh be sure you read the description on this video
because we have several people to thank for this Glock and the suppressor ammo. Just everything
okay. Some people are really helping out the channel on this and bringing a little fun to
the compound. So uh hopefully uh you appreciate that. I know we do. Now you heard what that
sounded like. These are 147 grain rounds. So let's try them with that uh that cute little
tube on there. See if there's any difference. Now I can't see my sights. It kind of blocks
my sight a little bit there. I really have an excuse for missing today. How's that?
All right cool. Let's try the other one.
Oh I love it. Oh I need some more ammo. Is that cool or what? Let's get a big magazine.
Now how's that for a rig right there? I mean is that is that a rig? I'd say that's a pretty
good pocket gun. I need to start shopping for a holster for that dude. Pocket holster.
Well let's just see if we can get one near the gong. Who needs sights?
Let's see. I think I can estimate where it's going to hit.
There we go.
It's almost neater to miss. I hear it thudding in the wood. How cool is that?
I actually hit the ram. I can't believe it. I was not even aiming. Just sort of estimating.
That's too cool. Hey here's a uh all right. Oh man now that's quiet. I think I'll test him.
You got to make sure they stay tight. They're definitely going to stay hot but it just threads
on there. After 20, 30, 40 rounds you want to make sure it's still tight. This again is a
suppressor silencer. You can argue about what to call them but the people who know these things
tend to call them both. And this one has a has a recoil booster device. It's a Nielsen device
specifically that enables you to use the the same suppressor on various calibers and various pistols.
Now this one is kind of I think more specific to the nine millimeter so it's not quite as flexible
but you can get these for a 45 say and then you put a different power booster and Nielsen device
on it and then you can put it on a nine so so you're not limited to using it on just one gun.
And one thing I did not know until just recently that unlike some other class three firearms
you have to be so careful about about a lot of the the laws with them. You do these too
but if you buy a suppressor you can put it on different guns you know like like this one.
If this would fit on my gun it'd be okay to put this on my gun because the owner is right here
so it's not a problem. You can put it on four or five different firearms and it's perfectly legal
so it's pretty cool. I'm gonna have to have one of these I think on my own.
You know they're just they're really nice really nice. Let's try it again here.
Let's let's go ahead with another bag of Big Mad here. All right. Why do I have my you know what
I had my ears in while I was doing that. I don't need my ears. Okay now I have a little trouble
hitting things with it because I can't see the sights real clearly with this one. That's pretty
interesting. Whoa. Nice. Oh man we got two liter heaven here don't we. Now this would be the way
to play jingle bells wouldn't it. Have a silencer on. So cool. I love it. Half of those I was missing
on purpose. It's so cool to see it hit the dirt. Hear the thud. Then see it hit. That is uh that
is quite a device. I'll tell you what I enjoy that and you could put some higher sights on the
gun. This is just uh I just had to grab a Glock 17 because this particular barrel would would only
fit in a 17. So I couldn't use my 19s you know that I have two or three of but uh so the sights
are just whatever they are. But if you're going to set one up like this you could put higher sights
uh maybe uh even a red dot or something on if you wanted to. You could really have a space age
outfit here with the 33 round mag and the suppressor and big sights and some kind of scope
on there whatever you wanted. But that is uh that is unbelievable. That is almost too much fun. Now
we also happen to have access to one here while that's cooling off a little bit in the uh in the
blackout. Uh same same uh device uh advanced armament same company rather and uh have some
220 grain bullets. I'll just take a couple shots. We'll do a video on this one too to show you that
they also work with a fairly high-powered rifle. Now I actually have sights on this. I'm not sure
where to hold but oh now that malfunctioned. We've been practicing with that it didn't uh
didn't have any trouble with it. Try it again. Been working fine.
How cool is that? How cool is that? We'll show you that again and uh play with that some some
other time some of the video perhaps. But uh man a Glock 17 with a suppressor. That's cool. We got
to shoot just a couple more here. Let's see what else we have. I keep wanting to put my ears on.
I don't really need to do it. Let's shoot kind of fast at something maybe.
I'm shooting some of my hand loads you know because I hand load 147 grain ammo
and that's what you want to use with a suppressor a nine millimeter generally 147
because it's subsonic. You know you can shoot some uh supersonic ammo. We may take a couple
shots here just to show you because it does make a little more sound if you're shooting
supersonic ammo. But if you have subsonic ammo it's pretty quiet isn't it? Pretty quiet.
Not a lot of sound. Let's put a couple of 115 grain rounds in it and just show you the difference.
Okay she's tight. Yeah she's still tight. So uh as you see uh subsonic ammo for sale some of
you new shooters that uh you know have not been into the sport very long that's why you see
subsonic ammo available generally speaking. Okay it's uh it's for suppressors and it makes them
work better. You're gonna suppress? Might as well suppress totally right? Now this this is gonna be
faster bullet. You'll hear the bullet crack. The sound you hear is not from the bullet the
explosion of the powder. It just burns anyway. It's actually the bullet breaking the the sound
barrier over there. Okay see a little louder because it's not subsonic. All right pretty
interesting. So I'm glad I could bring you some knowledge in uh today. But uh that is a suppressor
that's kind of how they work. They're legal in most states. I'm not the expert on suppressors
and silencers but you can look it up. There's a lot of great information uh we've had some help
from a fellow in North Carolina silencers. I think it's his website and uh you can you can look there
and look at advanced armament and there and there's a site called silencer law legal sound all
kinds of sites out there as you can imagine and you can find out if they're legal in your state
exactly what to do. There's some great videos out there on exactly how to go about investigating
if you are interested in one. They run five hundred to a thousand dollars for the for the device
itself. There's generally three to five six month waiting period depending on the state
in which you live to get the paperwork go through your background checks and everything
and uh you know then you pay a two hundred dollar stamp uh to Uncle Sam uh for for kind of the
privilege the right to buy one and that's over and above what you pay for the silencer. Okay so just
give you an idea of what kind of money you're talking about uh if you're thinking about a nice
toy like this. But uh you know check it out if you're interested and uh there's lots of good
information. I'm not going to talk about it too much. I'm going to tell you something that's wrong
because I'm not an expert in them although they're fun and I'm probably going to have to have one.
So uh Glock 17 silenced. I love it. Life is good.
