Hey everyone, so in today's video, I am giving you 10
Honestly by the end of this video is probably more like 30
Makeup tips for you guys out of tips within tips within tips. We are talking about
Stallow winter skin. We're talking about pimples even dry pimples and how to cover them
We're talking about hollow under eyes
But really we're talking about ways in which we apply makeup
The differences in technique are often so subtle what make the most insane impact
So I hope you guys enjoy it
If you found it valuable definitely make sure to give this video a thumbs up and let us
Begin my first tip for you guys is to go ahead clean hands
Feel your skin feel how it's feeling. Does it feel tight? Does it feel oily?
Really don't be afraid to do a good skin check and getting in touch with your body in that way
Because makeup isn't just something that goes on top of the skin your skin prep and your makeup really are
One I already put on all my skincare today. It's been hours. My skin is dry
It is just dry here. That means I have to go back to skin prep again
So just because you already dig your skincare routine
You already did skin prep if you're waiting all that time your skin can easily dry out or go oily again
I am putting on some lip balm. This is the notarium phyto glow lip balm. This is just the clear which is
my most used I talk a lot about the tinted ones, but I
Love this just as a tinted lip product
So putting on a lip balm at the beginning of your routine is going to make everything at the end of the routine with your lips
Goes so much smoother. So so my skin is feeling incredibly dehydrated and that is when I would go in with my Haru Haru wonder
Probiotics barrier essence a lot of you guys already know my love of this product
But for skin prep, this is an incredibly fluid
Milky essence toner this plays beautifully under makeup this does a really good job
while being so
fluidly lightweight the skin around my nose that is very dry right now is
Already feeling less dry
But if you know like if you put on a couple of layers of your milky toner and you can just still feel like your
Skin needs more. This is a little hack that I wanted to share with you guys
It's that I often do a little face mask of my set of film moisturizing cream back in the day
I think it was reading Vogue or allure
I had heard that a lot of makeup artists like to prep model skin with Vaseline like an
Aquaphor or a petroleum jelly or an aquaphor kind of okay
You gotta go dude, it is not the day for you to be in here
Alright
They often prep the model skin with a Vaseline or an aquaphor mask and then take off the excess
Because it just leaves this really lovely glow and really
Quickly and parts a lot of hydration. So I do the same thing except with a really rich cream. So
That is what I'm talking about when I talk about a rich cream
And this actually has like the third ingredient is petrol autumn, but it also has water and glycerin
So to me, it's just like a more comfortable version of that hack
My next little hack if you will for you guys is to before you even put on
Makeup after your skin prep is to consider what you're really going for in a perfect world
It would be amazing if I could get full coverage right now
That looks dewy and hydrated and is going to magically last like 24 hours for me
It's almost like you guys know those little like triangles where it's like you can only choose two
For me in that little triangle. It's good coverage
to a
Natural look and three for it to last long though
I think there are those kind of gold star products that will give you a lot of those things
And we'll talk about some of those
I personally think that it's important to look at your makeup stash and
Prioritize what actually means the most to you
So if you want your skin to give good coverage and last a long time
But you're not as concerned with it looking really natural. You can actually take like a very different approach like
longevity in makeup is a
Completely different approach in my personal opinion to something that is going to give you coverage and look natural
I personally would rather my makeup last
Even a couple to three hours less, but when it is looking good
It looks good and my skin looks natural rather than the makeup kind of last all day
But it not necessarily
Make my skin sing. That's always what I like to describe it as I want my skin to sing
I want my skin to feel good. I want there to be a radiance
So what I've really been liking to do is use a concealer under my foundation
For certain spots like this and then going to the under eye concealer after I put on foundation
So this is the salt New York best case concealer
and I usually just take it with a kind of
Dense brush like this if you have more oily skin
I would recommend using something like the NARS
soft matte
Concealer and this one is going to give you a little bit more longevity
Something like the best case concealer. I think is a little bit better for dry skin
so I
Am just I'm tapping this on like super lightly
until that redness
Has gone away
One tip that I also love to do
Is I always take my tongue under the surface of my skin like in my mouth because often I get a lot of pigmentation
Here so it actually flattens out the pimple so that I'm getting all sides of it
And again, I could go for like a full-on
Completely matte concealer, but this kind of concealer is not going to look as natural on a very dry breakout
Which we already mentioned this is a very dry breakout and I'm gonna do the same thing on this pimple up here
It's actually not a pimple anymore. It's just
A post acne mark. So as we go ahead and get into foundation
I wanted to kind of walk through some foundations with you guys with makeup tips, you know
Especially during the winter time if I want my makeup to have some longevity
But I still want my skin to look as natural as possible
I'm probably going with something like the Natasha Denona high glam or the NARS light reflecting
Foundation these are very very similar. I don't think you can really go wrong with either. I do think that the NARS is
Slightly more dewy and hydrating than the Natasha Denona, but this is also a slightly thinner
So there are some people I think that would prefer that about it
I have dry skin and I really enjoy both but when my skin is like super super dry
Even so much so that it's like flaking
I will almost exclusively go with the cosmetic CC cream
this is one of the only products that looks good on flaking skin and
It's a really good option. If you don't want to add concealer at all because it has so much coverage personally for me
I still think that that product is a banger for a good reason. I didn't want to call out a product though and this
Potentially could be a bad idea. But if you've been on my channel for a long time
And this is bringing me back because I haven't talked about this product in years the Shiseido synchro skin self-refreshing and radiant lifting foundation
I recently saw these I believe it was that I want to see it was sacks
I'm gonna leave a link down below, but I saw that there were shades in stock and it confused me because I could have sworn
that this was
Discontinued I I still have to figure that out. I reached out to them like a year ago and they never replied to me
Actually now remember how I said that to be realistic with our makeup
We should probably be choosing between it looking very natural it giving us coverage and giving us longevity for me personally
I think it's good to choose between those two if your skin is feeling very problematic
it still breaks my heart every time I look at them because this is a product that is
Consistently refreshing itself throughout the day
So if you get the radiant version it kind of like rehydrates itself as you wear it and if you get the synchro skin
Personally, I feel like it kind of distributes the oils in a way that makes it more long wearing like for combination skin
This is I just I feel like they're I feel like this is like kind of made for combination skin
I have dry skin and I love it
But the radiant is way more geared towards me personally
So today I'm going to use the shade 140 porcelain and when my skin is like super super super dry
I actually really do like a sponge
And I'm just tapping on a thin layer and I do think that especially for beginners
Sponges are great because they're not like you don't have to spend a lot of money on them
Like this whole pack of AOA sponges
I think it's around $10, but it also teaches another tip and hack that I really preach on my channel
Which is to press your product into the skin rather than rub it around
Especially when you are dealing with dryness on the skin flaking when you tap a product in you're actually not
disturbing any of the texture on
Your skin it also helps to not disturb any hair if you have hair on your face
Which most of us do and it's really helping any of these skincare on your face
Absorb and mesh with the makeup now something that I am noticing in particular
Is that the foundation is not really wanting to stick to this area?
And I think it's just because the salt Newark texture is quite
It's dewy it has like quite an emollients to it and the Shiseido is quite thin
So when something like that happens, this can be like a tip within a tip
Typically something that I think usually works is taking like a smidge of your foundation
so that's like all I'm using taking more concealer and
Mixing the two on the back of your hand. So you're kind of forming a new texture
This is ultimately the texture that you are going for
and then
Just tapping that on and I am noticing
Already that that is playing so much better together
Usually that works really well and it worked well
Um because you're just kind of doing the work for the makeup the makeup doesn't even have to do anything at that point
The tools don't have to do anything because you're kind of doing the alchemy for them speaking of alchemy
We're going to be doing a little bit of concealer mixing again together
Because I think that we should be mixing our color corrector into our concealer. This is another tip
I talk about a lot on my channel
So I'm using the Kosas corrector and the concealer today because it is my go-to
During the winter time now, you can see this is the shade illusion
That is my color corrector and that is my concealer
This is the shade 1.5 from Kosas and honestly that shade I think does a pretty good job
Because it has a little bit of like a little slight slight bit of pink
I mean pink by Kosas standards, which typically they lean yellow as a whole
but when I mix the two together, that's what I'm kind of getting a little bit more of
Of a shade that in my opinion in my opinion will help to conceal the color
Much better. So what I've been doing this is a little bit of a change-up to my typical routine
Is that it looks like a lot. It's actually not quite as much as it looks on camera
I like to take a thin layer of that all
Over. Yeah, that's the color corrective shade
So I'm taking it all over and that thin layer and this alone
I feel like I could just like I'm good but for a little bit of brightening now
I'll go back in with my original shade and I've been enjoying taking that
Right into the hollow
So typically I would kind of do the opposite would add the color corrector only into the exact hollow
but as of late
I feel like doing the color corrector all over and then adding the highlight right into the hollow is actually been working really well
And I also don't think anyone should be using a highlight shade. That's like multiple shades lighter than your actual skin tone
1.5 C is like maybe a half a shade lighter for me if I want to help the hollowness under my eyes
Doing an insanely bright under eyes actually really drawing attention to the hollowness for me personally when I want to feel a little
Bit more put together
Or I just feel like my skin overall is looking kind of sallow. I
Often will kind of focus on
shaping my face pretty subtly, but I do think that
Oftentimes I'll kind of feel the need to skip like a shaping
Part of my routine, but I actually think it's really helpful to feel like nothing is kind of sagging
obviously like
Sagging all of these like problems we talked about are very normal and natural
but sometimes I feel like when I have a little bit of shape if I have like a little bit of a cheekbone if I
Have some definition it does make everything look a little bit less flat and a little bit less
Sullen
Because I think when our skin is feeling sullen everything kind of becomes like one note a little bit dull
And when you're adding shape back, you're taking away
From that one note kind of dullness
So I'm just taking the light shade of the makeup by Mario shaping stick that shade
I think it's a really nice shade for fair skin
This is a tip that is going to really transform a lot of your makeup routines
So I'm first going to use more of a beige blush
This is a blush that is very very very natural
Um, this is the shade bear muse and I want you guys to see what kind of shade this is as it's next to
The makeup by Mario you see how it's very
pink
Beigey these kind of like pink beigey blushes on me still read as a blush because it has that pink
Pop to it. So but this one was specifically designed for for light olive skin tones
And I just really really enjoy it on me. So you see how I'm just tapping that over the cheeks
It is not looking like we have really blush on but what I think it's kind of doing is it's starting to harmonize everything
It kind of feels like a cross between a blush and a bronzer and
acting as that first layer between
The bronzer and then going on to those areas where the blush is going to be it feels like to me
It's automatically making everything synergize and look really really natural
This is kind of what I talk about when I talk about a one-and-done blush
I feel like sometimes I could just skip bronzer and just go with a shade like this
You have more of a medium to deep skin tone
I will kind of go with a little bit more of a terracotta shade another option for that one-and-done blush
I've really been enjoying its gale
From Glossier me this one works a little bit more for my skin tone
I feel really really love that shade love this formula this formula and these so she
By the way, this so she shade is called bear Muse. These are just two blushes. I've been really really loving but now
We're going to use a brightening shade
So if I just used a brightening shade, sometimes I feel like it might look too stark
But because we've kind of added this beige blush as a base
All of this is kind of melting together in a really lovely way
You can't really see where the product and the color starts and stops and now we're just gonna add some
Dimension and some brightness and color with the lily by red
Love beam cheek balm now for specifically for a more warm skin tone a coral like this looks really
Lovely, I want to show you what happens when I put this kind of like when I smile my apple
The cheek is here. I like to go a little bit higher for lift
so take your blush right above the apple of the cheek and
Then put that brightening color right there
And do you guys see the difference
Over here like the lift and the color that that gives
the cheeks same thing
right there
And even I want to make it a little bit more intense. You can take it up with the brush
You can just kind of tap that all in you have this beautiful
Blush draped look now, of course, I'm gonna do something that I think looks really lovely
It's kind of polarizing, but I have done this for years on my channel. I think some of you enjoy it as well
I always take a little bit of my blush
And I put it across the bridge of my nose. I've always loved that like 80s Ralph Lauren polo
sunburnt kind of effect and it kind of like I don't know kind of like reminds me of that as well and I know a
Lot of us like to set our face as always my main tip and recommendation is to set the face
In the areas where you feel like the makeup moves the most not necessarily all over now
I think all over can look nice, but especially during the winter when things are feeling super dry
I like to kind of I don't like to set. Oh my god. Can you imagine?
Setting this area of my nose. It is so dry already. I don't care how amazing this powder is
I don't want to set that area on me for me. I'm taking it just right here and
up
Into that hollowness and watch what it does
It kind of flattens out that area and makes everything look more flush
You see how that kind of like
Magically
Made that hollowness look less apparent, but I'm not like baking the whole under eye so you can see it again right here
Taking it here
All the way up
this does such a good job of
Flattening out everything. I'm not even gonna set those pimples though, because honestly, they're so dry. I don't want to put powder there
and then usually I'll kind of
Do the jaw a little bit if anything with this powder just cuz it kind of makes everything look a little bit cleaner
but I think it's important to set the makeup with a spray now and
Also set it at the end. So this is one of my new
airbrush flawless setting sprays from
Charlotte Tilbury you guys know how much I love this one
These are way easier for travel and it's just a better deal than the really large one
And yeah, if I want to set my face without it looking super dry this time of year
This will actually set the face
But it won't look like dry and like you just poured alcohol over your face. So
for me, I do think it's difficult to find setting sprays that both set the face and
Melt everything together in a really hydrated way
Now with the brows, this is what I typically do if
I am feeling like in general my face could use a little bit of lift. I take my eyebrows
really sky-high and
I work with this shape rather than something
that is
More like that because already you see this is giving so much more lift when you have the brows
basically straight up
So this is what I'm working off of and then I'm filling in gaps based on this shape
So when my eyebrows are up like this
I personally notice that the most kind of sparse areas are under my brow and
That because I brush them up I'm not seeing a lot of sparseness necessarily on the top anymore
so what I'll do is I
Often just take a brow
Pencil and run that under I just fill in those areas, but we're working with a brow that is
Fluffed upwards to just kind of give us like a natural lift now this technique that I'm using to fill in my brows
Might not necessarily work for you if you have a lot of sparseness
But if you do for example have sparseness I can show you I would then work on
more hair like strokes
like this and
Work them upwards continue to create that lift. But for me, I
Don't feel like I need too much like hair work. I
Need more of just like an overall
Shading and I always take my spoolie and run through them and when I'm setting my brows
I'm doing the same thing. I'm
Taking the hairs and pushing them upwards
I think that this can kind of add a bit of a lift
my next tip for you guys is when you go in to do your eyeshadow to
Really choose your powders wisely if you were skinning like your eyelids look fine when you have your concealer on
But the minute you put on your eyeshadow palette, it starts to look really dry and creepy
There might be a chance that the eyeshadows themselves are quite dry
So this one from Clio is just for me
Really really lovely as almost setting palette like almost think of this as
soft setting powders for the eyes that also add
Some color like these aren't the most pigmented
I don't think that they're going to work for everyone depending on what your need is
But I just really really enjoy them
So even this deeper color because of how soft and finely milled it is
It just like it's blending out
Itself and also I'm using a fluffier brush. So
Like I'm trying to get that diffused look already from the jump
But do you see how it just adds that really lovely shape my next tip for you guys
As far as eyeshadows for me personally
This is something that I like to do is I'll take an eyeshadow
Like this is a highlight shade in my opinion that someone might typically put on the brow bone, but it's matte
I always like to take a shade like that right on the inner portion of my lid. I
Personally find it really opens up the entire eye area
You can blend like after that and make everything look a little bit more seamless
but for me
Sometimes I skip setting powder in this area completely and I just use a matte kind of bone shade
in this area
And it just makes the entire eye area open up and then I can go back in and choose my other shades
and mix the two together these just kind of like I
Again, I think because this kind of palette is so subtle. It's just not gonna be for everyone
But for me, I just think the textures are so so so lovely
I'm gonna take this flat eyeshadow brush with that brown shade and kind of concentrate it into the lashes
On the outer corner a little bit. I don't think I'm gonna do like a wing like I usually do
I almost just want the lashes to look a little bit thicker here
Because this shade is more of like a reddish brown
And it really pops green eyes, too
Which I always I mean, I always enjoy now next what I like to do is always always always use a lash curler
This is the Shiseido
Eyelash curler and I go in for one curl, but then at the end I'll go back and do a second especially on this side
I feel like I have one lash that like is
Much shorter than the others. So I kind of like to get that one curled as much as possible
Now for the lashes something that I like to do when I'm applying my mascara
I like to focus my wand at the root of the lash. I like to look down
First into the mirror because this helps get the entire lash
the lashes like
It's just they become more available when you're looking down rather than here. Sometimes I feel like we're only getting the top of the lash
so this is the first coat I'll just
comb through
By the way, this is the suede pro lash lift. I love this mascara mascara can actually really change
Your eye shape just like eyeliner can so if you really want more of a rounded effect
I say look straight into your mirror and look at where your pupil is and really focus a lot of mascara
Right above your pupil. So like for me, it would be here
So I'd be focusing a lot of my mascara right here. That's gonna kind of give you a very round look. It's really gonna
lift the eye in that area, but I really like
To focus a lot of the mascara on the outer lashes and this kind of gives you almost like a cat eye effect
without
putting on like a liquid liner or
Drawing a wing
So even just a couple of swipes outward
like this
You see how it like really changed my eye shape like all of a sudden my eyes look a little bit more almond esque
But if I decided oh, I don't I don't like that. I could always just kind of move them up, but I'm also going to
Put a little bit more right above my pupil
If I want to make them look a little bit more round again, you see what I did there and doing the
combination of
A wing and the lash look right above the pupil
That is what I call like an angel lash
Look angel lashes to me have this really fluttery kind of quality. They're not necessarily more
Sharp like a cat eye and they're not really round
They're kind of like a mix between the two so when I talk about mascaras kind of giving you that angel lash
Look, that's what I'm talking about
It's almost like an eye shape thing as well as like a fluffiness to the lash itself
Then I will tightline now. This is
controversial
Because if you do this and your mascara hasn't set sometimes the lashes will stick together
but with this mascara
See, I kind of did it there and I had no issues
so I just did a quick tightline and
Tightlining is something that I think a lot of us skip and I don't even know if this is enough as like for a tip
But like tightline try it out. I love the closest
I love the closest one, especially for beginners because it's so soft finally
For the lips. I have my Jones Road liner in nudist. I always take
My sponge and just tap out my lip lines a little bit so I can be more crisp
Here's what I actually have been doing as far as lining my lips. I
always go a
little bit below
Here because this is the area
That's the one area that people are not gonna notice you over lining in my opinion
Like look at that does that look like I've over lined I mean maybe right now because I haven't done the rest but watch
See it is barely over lined there
And then the rest I'm just sticking to the lip line
You guys see how that really doesn't look like I over lined my lips. It just looks like my lips are more pouty
That is why that little area is really the only place I find myself over lining these days
And then I'm taking my flea
Lip gloss in scotch 70% just like
Such a perfect neutral
This is more hydrating than a lot of those viral lip balms that everyone is using and this is the complete look those were my 10
Tips for you guys my little hacks. I hope you all enjoyed the video
Honestly, that was probably more than 10, but you guys know how I go
Please let me know what specific makeup issues or techniques you'd like to learn more about I'm happy to help you guys
Actually, can I say I'm editing this video I'm not just happy to help you guys I do truly feel honored
Um, I don't know why I feel like kind of emotional right now
But I just wanted to say that I was like not feeling great. I didn't really know if I wanted to
Shoot this video like when I shot it. I was just feeling under the weather obviously like
My skin was not doing well, it's still not doing amazing but makeup really is a
Bridge of connection for me, and I'm just even though I haven't posted this
I'm so glad that I sat down and did makeup and I'm talking with you guys and it is just truly an honor
