Hi, hello everyone, welcome back to my channel. In today's video, I'll share several recipes for
baby's first foods, which you can try after 6 months. But before we start the video, if you
haven't already subscribed to the channel, please do so quickly and don't forget to press the bell
button. First, we'll make banana puree. Banana is the best way to introduce solid foods.
I think so because I started my baby with banana. The best thing about banana is that it's sweet,
so the baby eats it very well. The chances of rejection are very low.
So, here I've taken this banana and I'm mashing it this way, with a little extra flour,
and we need to mash it very well. I recommend starting with half a banana on the first day.
After your baby gets used to it and likes it, you can start introducing a whole banana.
And here you have to follow the minimum 2-day rule.
When you introduce anything new, you should feed it to your baby for at least 2 days and
see how his body reacts. Whether it suits him or not. So, here I've mashed the banana very well,
and you can see its texture is completely smooth. There are no large pieces in it.
You should feed it in very small quantities. And if you want, you can also add breast milk
or formula milk to it. Next, we'll make this apple puree.
For this, I've taken this rice cooker and I'm attaching this stand to it.
You can also use a pan instead of the rice cooker and make it on the stove.
Now, I've added some water to the rice cooker and this apple.
I've peeled it and cut it into medium-sized pieces.
Now, first, we need to heat the water so that it starts to steam.
Once the water is hot, I'm placing the bowl containing the apple in it and steaming it.
You can also use a steamer. If you don't have a steamer, you can make it in a normal pan.
You can also make it in a rice cooker. If you'd like to see the rice cooker method,
I'll include a video at the end of this video and a link to it in the description.
You can check it out. It's been 10 to 15 minutes and the apple is thoroughly cooked.
I've closed the rice cooker. Now, I'm going to cover it and
steam it for a little while longer so it cooks evenly and cools down a bit.
Now, the apple has cooled down a bit and I'm mashing it this way.
You can also feed it directly by mashing it with a fork.
If you prefer, you can also blend it in a blender.
You need to blend it without adding water. No water is needed.
After blending, you'll see that the texture is completely smooth and the puree is ready.
You can feed it hot. You can also let it cool slightly.
You can feed it however your baby prefers.
Next, we'll make the sabadana. This is a basic sabadana recipe and we'll make it in water.
First, we'll take the sabadana. I've taken 3 to 4 teaspoons of sabadana.
We'll wash it thoroughly. We'll wash it at least 5 to 6 times.
We'll wash it until the water is completely clear.
This sabadana is washed. I'll soak it for at least 2 to 3 hours.
I usually do it overnight so I can prepare whatever I want to make in the morning.
And here, in 2 to 3 hours, this sabadana is completely ready.
I heated water in a rice cooker. Now, I'm adding this sabadana to the hot water.
You don't necessarily need a rice cooker. You can cook it in a normal pan.
Now, we need to cover it and cook it for 10 to 12 minutes.
You can see that after 10 to 12 minutes, this sabadana is quite cooked.
You need to cook it until it turns from white to transparent and thickens slightly.
One more thing to keep in mind is not to make it too thick
because when it cools, it will thicken a little more.
Now, this sabadana is ready. I've taken it out in a bowl.
And if your baby is over 1 year old, you can add a little salt and a little ghee.
Sabadana is very nutritious. This also helps your baby gain weight.
And you should definitely include it in your baby's diet.
Next, we'll make this basic mung dal.
For this, I've taken 1 tablespoon of mung dal,
washed it thoroughly, and soaked it for at least an hour.
Soaking is essential so that it's easy for your baby to digest.
I usually soak it overnight, and then the next day, I use it to make khichdi or any other dal.
Now, I've added 2 tablespoons of dal to the cooker, along with 1 cup of water.
2 tablespoons of dal will be enough for your baby, you don't need to add more.
I'm also adding turmeric and asafoetida.
Adding a little asafoetida to the dal enhances its flavor,
and your baby won't have any difficulty digesting it.
Now, I've cooked the dal for 3-4 whistles.
3-4 whistles because the dal doesn't contain salt.
So, the lentils may take a little longer to cook.
Now the cooker has cooled down.
The steam has released.
I've opened it, and you can see that the lentils are cooked very well.
They're well cooked, and believe me, you don't need to give them lentil water.
I recommend that you cook lentils this way, making them thin,
because while water is nutritious, it lacks texture.
Generally, babies don't like them, and they won't want to eat them.
So, prepare lentils this way.
I'm sure they'll definitely like them.
Next, we'll make this basic rice.
For this, I've taken 2-3 tablespoons of rice.
I've thoroughly washed and soaked it.
And now I've got this rice cooker.
You can also use a normal pan.
You can also use a pressure cooker, whichever you have available.
Now the water has heated up.
So, I'm adding the rice.
And now we need to cook it.
You need to cook it for at least 15 minutes.
And if you're making it in a pressure cooker, you need to cook it for 2-3 whistles.
You need to cook the rice very thoroughly.
Overcook it so that it mashes easily.
And here the rice is completely ready.
I'll show you by pressing it.
It's mashed easily, and if you find it too watery, you can dry it.
At this stage, you can mash it with a spoon or strain it through a sieve.
This step will make the texture smooth.
And here I'm pressing the rice in this way.
I wouldn't recommend blending it, as it changes the taste slightly.
You can feed it plain initially.
Later, you can add a little ghee.
For children over 1 year old, you can also add a little salt.
It's better to feed this rice instead of rice water.
Next, we'll make this simple, plain khichdi.
For this, I've used half a cup of rice.
I'll explain why later.
I've also added 1 quarter cup of mung dal.
The ratio of rice to lentils is such that you use twice as much rice as you use lentils.
Now, we need to wash it thoroughly.
Wash it at least 5 to 6 times until the water runs completely clear.
I used Sona Masoori rice because it's very light for babies and easily digestible.
Now, I've washed it thoroughly and soaked it for at least 2 to 3 hours or overnight.
I generally soak it overnight and then cook it the next day.
And here, I've added 2 tablespoons of lentils and rice to the cooker.
This quantity will be sufficient for the baby.
You don't need to add more than that.
And this spoon is a normal eating spoon that we use.
I've added a cup of water to it.
Try adding organic, high-quality turmeric to any meal you make for your baby.
You can also use dried turmeric powdered in this way.
Now, this khichdi is ready to cook.
So, I'm going to cook it for 3 to 4 whistles.
3 to 4 whistles because it doesn't contain salt.
As I told you earlier, it may take a little longer to cook.
And here's a little tip.
You can soak the lentils and rice together or separately,
put them in a container, and store them in the refrigerator for up to a week.
This saves a lot of time and whatever you want to make,
whether lentils, rice, or khichdi, is ready in 10 minutes.
Now, this cooker has cooled down.
This khichdi is ready.
And this rice is cooked very well.
It's getting mashed very well.
You can see.
And you have to keep the khichdi thin.
And feed this lukewarm to the baby.
That is, feed it lukewarm because babies don't like cold food much.
