In today's video we're heading out to my front porch to decorate it for the holiday season.
My Christmas front porch is one of my favorite things to do. So the first thing we need to do
is there's a little bit of prep involved. I'm actually painting a couple things. Just bear
with me here. One of my favorite things to do is to use a combination of things I already own
and then a few new items just to like make it look fresh and new but not spend a ton of money.
So let's go get our things prepped and then we'll get out there on the front porch and
freeze our little tushies off because I picked the worst day ever. I might not even be able to
get this all done today. We'll see. Let's stop talking and get to it. By the way, today's video
is sponsored by me. So what I would love for you to do is make sure you subscribe and hit the like
button on this video. That would help me so so much and a big thank you. Okay something that's
really bugging me and I think we're gonna have to go on a quick little trip down the road to
the nursery is I originally planned to use this garland and I'll show my camera really and it is
it is you know flocked it's frosted and but the tree that I got from Walmart that lights up from
the my Texas house that's new this year so this is old and this is new. I don't like when garland
and that kind of thing is mixed like if it's going to be flocked it all needs to be flocked because
then you know if it snowed most likely everything got snow on it. So if it doesn't have snow on it
then it all needs to go that way. So this is driving me crazy. I'm thinking about just running
down to my local nursery and buying some fresh garland because I think that would look really
good with these trees and it's inexpensive and it just helps support local business and so and
it's not another item that I have to keep in my attic because I don't need any more things in my
attic. Okay we got the goods and I just discovered I had another bell in my trunk so that's awesome
and it's freezing. Okay I got these oversized jingle bells from Sam's Club and I originally
ordered the red because I'm kind of was going to do like a red and white theme out on the front
porch but I think I'm going to go ahead and do kind of a red and gold theme and I can throw in
some white but I have red and white Christmas lights so I thought that this would look really
cute and festive for my front porch and these uh little ornaments like they stack inside of each
other so hopefully they'll be easy to store in my attic. Oh wow oh my
they're heavy how what is happening they're really heavy okay oh okay we're getting that
we're getting the big guns. All right we got the big guns here to help me wait to
see how heavy these are. Yeah and with my back that's exactly what we need is heavy right
but once I get them separated I should be able to like handle them but I was like oh my goodness
whoa these are heavier than I know right
oh yeah you told me to come late man okay perfect yeah okay thank you
oh Evie she's like what is grandpa doing okay I'm gonna take and use this gilded brass
it's kind of more of like a muted nice little gold color and paint the two shiny red ones
okay I picked up this silver trash can two of them and I'm going to paint them gold like I'm
painting the bells and then that way it'll match nicely for the little like Christmas
trees to sit in next to the door that are lighted up that that light up oh my goodness I can't even
talk anyway so all I got left to do is finish the second coat of the painting on this and I'm gonna
get this painted and woohoo okay all the gold is dry this turned out so pretty so I really love
the gold with the red I think that looks really nice and then I bought this pretty ribbon from
Walmart and this is what we're going to use to hang the little jingle bells all over the garland
so let's go get the garland hung but oh it's freezing outside what's the temperature it's 20
degrees oh my goodness I was looking at footage to make sure that I had everything why didn't you
guys tell me I had something in my hair over here rude I was cracking up I was like how long had
that been there just pretend you didn't see that earlier in the video okay this is cute I kind of
like how it's draping now we'll add in the bells and have a really pretty wreath okay I'm not
exactly sure how I'm doing this I just tied it on to the garland I don't know if this is gonna work
if I can get them to lay the way I want but I think we'll just do like big small big small
going down the sides because in the middle is gonna be a wreath right here with a red bell
so I think that's what I'm gonna do I had to take my gloves off and I don't know if you guys know
what Raynaud's disease is but it's like where the circulation in your fingers wait you see what my
hands are gonna look like here in a minute uh yeah this is already getting to be unpleasant
okay I think on this side we'll opposite and we'll do gold and then red how's that look
oh it's pretty cute it kind of needs to go a little bit higher look at this gorgeous this
natural wreath that I got that when I went and got that garland oh so pretty and then
I have these red bells that I think I'm gonna put here in the middle because we need some color here
also that's so pretty okay I really love the little pop of red there in the middle I feel
like that just really adds something to it and helps you see the front door you know as you're
walking up to it and just give it that festive look I'm gonna reuse this cute little rug set
that I had from a couple years ago because I think it will match nicely and this set is still
available over on Amazon so I'll link it because it's just so cute I'm gonna need to get it
flattened out it's been up in my attic and so I had it rolled up saving it for when I needed to
use it again okay I think that's a good choice because it goes really nicely with the rest of
the door all right we got our gold trash cans now that are gonna house our trees
I probably should have left this inside to dry you can see it's a little bit wet I was cleaning
it up since you know we've used it several years but it's so cold out here I don't know if it'll
ever dry maybe I'll take that back in to dry I think these trees need a cute little like sloppy
bow they need something to break them up so I'm just gonna zip tie it to it that's really cute
you guys know how I've always said that I'm not a bow maker I think I'm starting to be a bow maker
I'm like finally getting the hang of it it's crazy how little touches like that can make
such a difference okay see how we have that empty space back there behind our
giant ornaments I have this vintage sled that I think I'm gonna put back here
with these old vintage bells and we'll put a red bow on it also
and then it'll kind of tie this space all together and fill it in
too bad these ornaments are in my way oh yeah that's really cute I'm loving the simplicity of
this ah adorable I saved the best for last
Evie representing the front porch in all her Christmas glory
does this front porch not scream cheery wonderful happy Christmas I mean seriously
it's simple but yet we did a lot of really personal touches
that just made it so cute and stand out I love all the bows I love how we made the gold on the
jingle bells and oh this is perfect I think this looks so adorable
simple but yet just kind of classic this is a good Christmas front porch
I hope you guys enjoyed today's video we'll see you next week
