Mariah Carey's Secret Unreleased Album | Extended Tonight Show Interview

They love you. We love you. Congrats on the new album, Here for It All. It's happening. I want to get into this. I have other things. I have a secret song question I want to get into, too. Yes, that's never been talked about, but I have lots of things to talk about. First of all, how is the family? How are the twins? They're good. They're good. How old are they now? They're 14. Wow. I know. 14 years old. Happens quick. I can't even know what to say. Yeah. What are they into? What are they into? They're just kind of like, well, my daughter's into music, and she likes music. She used to sing with me on my Christmas tour, but I don't know if she's doing it this year. Oh, really? Yeah. Maybe her own thing? Maybe. I'm trying to get her to do her own thing. I think she wants to, so possibly. Yeah? Okay, good. All right. I love this. I'm on the time show. And my son is very obsessed with streaming and gaming and all the things. Rocky's into that stuff. I know he was doing a live stream on Twitch, and you interrupted his live stream. How dare I pay all the bills and then interrupt? No, but you know what? The thing about Rocky, he just convinced me to get him. I mean, his sister has a new dog, a Golden Retriever. I have three, well, two dogs, and he just said, I never get anything. You know, Ro gets everything she wants. I just want a tarantula. And I'm like, this kid is kidding me. Like, I'm so scared of tarantulas. You can't tarantula. No, anything else. Well, I let him have it. Oh, my gosh. I would have been frightened on that. I wouldn't do that. It scares me, but I'm just trying to be the cool mom. You are the cool mom, but I have a clip of you. I think you're the cool mom, but you'd be the judge. Let's take a look at when you walked into one of his streaming moments. Look at this. Okay. I know, I just want to get everyone's help out. I believe I said, I think I've done enough. Yes. And everyone loved that line. I think I've done enough. Well, I mean, we're going to space now? No. What are we doing? But I have, they actually made merch now. Someone made, they made a shirt that has your face on it that says, I think I've done enough. Merch is on Amazon. It's awesome. But this is mine, and I'm keeping this one. It's so rad. I just love you. Just keep being you. You're so good. You're so real. So maybe about a month ago, I want to ask you about this album. There's a secret album that you put out. Let's just say this. Questlove comes in my office, okay? He goes, he has a laptop. He has a pair of headphones. He goes, listen to this and tell me who you think this is. I go, okay. So I listen to it. And I'm like, it's good, whatever it is. I go, is it, is it Courtney Love? Is it Hole? Is it, is it Belly? I don't know who I was guessing. He was like, nope, nope. I go, I have no idea. Who is it? It's like kind of grunge, kind of, and he goes, it's Mariah Carey. And I go, what? So, wait, do you remember anything about this album? Yeah. Someone's Ugly Daughter is the title. This was never released. Never released. But I do like the cover. And I drew this cover. I didn't draw the roach. The roach was real. You drew this? You did this? Yeah, with the lipstick. I was just rebelling because I was working on Daydream and I was doing, like, Always Be My Baby and Fantasy and those kind of songs. And I loved doing that, but at the end of the night, when the band was still there, it's like, can you play like, you know, just play this so that I can get out of my head? Get it out of your brain. But it sounds fantastic. It's really good. Who is in the band? I don't think they're going to believe us that it sounds, I don't know. Mariah, I'm not joking. It is, yo, it's her best record. Oh, my God. I think this is her best record. Thank you. Here for it all. Here for it all. But this, we freaked out. We listened to 10 tracks. Yeah. You did? Yeah. I don't know where you got it. It's some secret file. He can get anything. I know, yeah. But honestly, Mariah, it was so good. And I was like, I wonder if she'll even talk about it on the show if you ever, the next time you come on. And so I appreciate you talking about this. But then I asked you, can we play some of the song? And you agreed, or your people agreed. I did agree, but I just want to say, I don't know which record label this is owned by. I don't think it's any of them because it's just the way that it went down. But let's discuss. It's not out. It never was released. Never was released. Well, let's discuss because maybe this could be another Christmas gift for Mariah if we... It's a really good season. It's more Halloween. It is Halloween, but, no, it's so rare. So you sing lead vocals on this grunge song. It's called Prom Queen. This is Mariah Carey, guys. Chick. On the day he turned 16, he washed his face and brushed his teeth, looked in the mirror long and late, said, I could be my next Prom Queen. I could be anything that I want to be. So say I... I think it's fantastic. I love it. We listened to, like, five tracks. I loved it. I was like, this is amazing. Of course you know how to do this, but I love that you were like, this is a side project for you. You're like, yeah, I can do this awesome record, as well. And I always regretted not putting it out, but they kind of stopped me at that point. You know, it was Sony at the time. We love the Sony now, but back then, little controlling, little controlling. We can put it out. We can get it out. We can put it out, yes. Come on, let's come together. You have to put it out, but anyways, thank you. Thank you for playing that. Well, I think it, here's how it happened. So I love the song Here For It All. I put it last on the list because I wanted people to listen to the whole album and get to Hear For It All. So I named the album Here For It All. It's just, it's a ballad, but it kind of goes into different vibes towards the end. It's like, you know. It's great. My fans are very happy with that one.
