🔴 Portugal vs Iran | Ronaldo Leads Portugal Against a Resilient Iran

that ronaldo targets i'm sure the great iranian player ali die his record in terms of international goals is also amongst his targets there's jao mario getting forward and that's a really clever ball to pick out ronaldo inside the area ronaldo with this shot berenban spills it and then gathers at the second attempt early shot of warning there from ronaldo to iran well i just wonder if iran have adopted a no challenge a no tackle um philosophy for ronaldo when he gets in the box forward from cedric koreshman once again to deliver from the right hand side looking for ronaldo and rezaeim got there and it was vital that he did well it's almost as if now portugal are trying to tempt this fella berenban to come off his line because this is the earlier one i mean that's the simplest take and it's not his thing normally because essentially he's a puncher but that should have been gathered in those gloves you know what he can do let's see if he can do it here it's the wall it's fairly traveling for the wall did what was required yeah but he's claiming that it was an arm that was raised in the wall and that's what um produced the deflection and it's it's very hard to um to pick that out it's as moon who's back opportunity for iran and it flashes just wide from rezaeim decent effort it was dipping but i think patricio was getting across regardless yeah and i think it probably favored his his right foot so i think they've got that part of it right and you know it's it's not the worst just needed the yard or two to the right and um i mean patricio might have just had to make a move for it jehan basque at the goalkeeper by etta talahi guerrero who grew up in paris with a shot from ronaldo and very much makes a comfortable save from long range from ronaldo but i think that's a sign of iranian success in many respects you know to have him at that distance and we know he can unleash there's a little deflection on the way for joining his legs no goals here but spain joined 1-1 at the moment with morocco that will still be sufficient for both spain and portugal to advance as charisma oh what a goal that is what a goal ricardo kureishma with an absolute beauty iran undone by a moment of sublime it's iran mill portugal one charisma and it's joy for the portuguese fans well it's stunning um i said at the start that this guy could be either very hot or very cold well this is uh just a bit hot because once he received the pass back from adrian silva he had outside of the right foot and i mean the placing of that is absolutely fantastic and this is a big goalkeeper and even he can't kind of get his footwork sorted out so he can leap and get a glove on that that is absolutely picture perfect and it's saved by bernard cristiano ronaldo huge kudos to the goalkeeper well they're still very much in it well just look at the goalkeeper's position to start with he's actually for a penalty kick in fairness to the players that wasn't appealing neat football once again from iran well driven into the area and a full stretch pepe puts it behind for a corner kick but it was one of those into the area it could have caused a real problem for the big yeah just a fraction more and um you know mike glance is stoked and arrive at aswin's feet adrian silva neat and tricky passing and the shot was always on the rise from adrian silva never troubling the goal of ali bernbant i had a look into the box and then the reaction from cristiano ronaldo was something you'd expect what's the arms 1966 the only other portuguese player to ever win the golden boot as iran play at fort asman with a knockdown opportunity of a shot here for god whistles narrowly wide decent hit well i'm surprised nobody went to him because they afforded him the time to keep his composure and to be able to get it back on his right foot his trusted foot but i think the center forward has done extremely well as moon and look at that nobody goes to him and he's just tugged it very very slightly but a little bit of hope for the outside part is red again it needs a good delivery here high towards the back post as we've got a header to it and teared away by pepe well they're claiming i think a handball did it just catch suarez as it was on the way down from the asman header on var well i guess this is the issue with var because players are putting the referee now under pressure to make decisions let's see if they've got a case here oh he's not i mean he's not even looking at it as moon just gets it behind him and his arm is in that position that's totally accidental for me let's see it once again yeah i mean he has no idea he's not in control of that there's no movement of the arm to the ball or anything like that at that stage his back is too as that's the main thing yeah but but if that is the case and as i think it is and it's accidental and he doesn't give a penalty to iran i wouldn't go there on the holidays if i were him it suggests he hasn't planned on it any he has given the penalty kick well it was a pretty prompt decision by the referee it's a penalty kick for iran in stoppage time for those supporters ultimately it may not matter a great deal penalty kick to be taken i'm sorry for it here he comes oh that's a beautiful penalty dispatched expertly into the top corner and sorry part makes no mistake from the penalty spot high into the roof of the net one one in saransk it may not be enough to get iran through to the last 16 but their supporters are absolutely jubilant nonetheless he's taken it brilliantly absolutely superb just opened his body up top corner and keepers getting nowhere near it and finally finally tonight he gets something in his favor it's around one four to go one and around it just got to go all out for a winner they have to go for it now asman fix it all ghanash with a shot it takes a deflection might run tightly all side messing what an opportunity for iran late in the day for the side netting and they are denied to remy well he just couldn't produce a moment of magic a winner for his side well i mean finally portugal looked rattled all of a sudden having kind of stayed cool throughout most of the night and it's a full-time whistle and what an eventful game one all at the end of 90 plus minutes honors even but it's portugal who progressed to the round of 16th and the yellow card has just been flashed suarez because he's not happy over the penalty decision and he's had a go and he got an immediate yellow but his teammates have dragged him away and they're even having to bust up the two good buddies at least they've hoped and made up drama upon drama in saransk in the second half ronaldo missing a penalty picking up a yellow card i will have been a red on another day for another player perhaps but absolute despair for iran portugal into the last 16 despite the fact that they've been
