Hi everybody and welcome back to another video here on the channel and today we have a super
exciting video. As you can see Copper's on the bike and she's got no safety lead on,
she's just freestanding on it. We drove that way up here, Storm's giving her a bit of trouble now.
But anyway, today's Copper's first time experiencing some real sheep work so she's
going out to work alongside Storm today and we're hoping that she shadows Storm a bit,
we're hoping that she behaves and stays under control is the main thing that we're hoping.
But we're hoping that she's going to shadow Storm a little bit, that she's going to watch Storm,
learn from her and hopefully that'll bring her on a little bit. So this is the next step on
from the round pen train. Now I'm not completely finished with that, I'm going to be doing
some things at the weekend with that as well. But yeah,
this is really going to be Copper's first taste of real sheep work.
Come on, walk on. Go Copper, walk on. Copper, go on, go join her.
Hit, hit Copper. Storm, that'll do. She come back first. Well done. Walk on.
That way, Storm. That's what we want, Copper to see her and go with her and try and learn from her
and she's not wanting to go too far from me, that's understandable. Copper, lie down. Good girl.
Walk on. Storm, that'll do. That'll do. Up. Storm, up. Walk on. Steady, steady.
Storm, steady. So this is kind of typical, puppies want to sort of play at the same time
and it's just because it's so exciting. She's actually moving her head sometimes, which is,
she is a very confident little pup. Steady, steady. Lie down, lie down. Walk on, Storm.
Walk on then. Go on. Got a stubborn you at the back. Even Storm's sort of looking.
Go on, Storm. Walk on.
Copper doesn't like that. Go on then. Up you go. Walk on, Storm.
Walk on, Storm. That way. Hit, hit. Steady now. Steady, Storm. Steady, steady, steady.
That'll do. That'll do. Storm, that'll do. That'll do. Come by. Come by.
Come by, Copper. Go help her. Come by. Go on then. Steady, Storm.
So kind of a big mistake from me there. I cinched Storm down to get those sheep. She obviously
didn't know exactly what I was thinking and there was more sheep down there than I could see
because she stopped in front of them and pushed them the wrong way,
which it really would have been ideal for I'd come in behind them and push them up. Copper's
stuck here. Look at this. I don't know if you can see. Got to hand up. Up you get. But yeah,
it would have been handy if she had went down and got them first time instead of pushing them right
round. But yeah, we're going to have to push them back now. Walk on. Steady, steady. No, hit, hit,
hit. That'll do. That'll do. Going to give these sheep a minute. That big male sheep isn't going
to move too fast and he's not going to respond well to the dogs being turned crazy around him,
especially with a young puppy. We don't want her to get hit by a big, big top like that or a ram,
depending on what you would call it. So yeah, we're going to give them a minute
going the wrong way. Storm. Copper, you just stay there even though you don't. Right, up, come on.
Up, up. Where'd you come from? Walk on, copper. Here, copper, come on. Come on.
Good girl. Good girl. Yeah, copper. Natalie, this way. Natalie, good girl.
Good girl, storm. Walk on, storm. Walk on, copper. Right, away. Storm, here, come back,
come back. Storm, Natalie. Away, away, away, away, away, away. Away, away, away, away,
storm. Storm, away, away, away, away. These sheep are not fun today. Away.
They're going every way but through that gate.
Away. Whoa, copper. That was close.
Hey, you getting up? Come on. Yeah, yeah. Right, copper, up. Up or go? Two choices.
Let's go. Go on. Back to helping. Good girl. It's kind of a good job I brought her. This turned
into a two dog job. These sheep, I don't know why they've been so difficult. This shouldn't be that
difficult. You'd think they'd want to go into the fresh grass. Storm, come back. Come back, come
back. Come back. Come on, copper. Come back, come back. Here, copper. Copper, Natalie, Natalie,
get out of there. Come back, storm. Come back, come back, come back.
Ditching the bike.
Watch that sheep. She's a bugger.
Come by, storm. Come by. Come by. Good girl, copper. Storm, walk on.
Walk on, storm. Walk on.
Come by. Hey, walk on. Walk on.
Copper, away. Good girl, storm.
Walk on.
There's one going. One will normally lead the rest when it comes to sheep.
Steady. Copper, that'll do, that'll do, that'll do. Good girl. Good girl, storm. Well done, storm.
Right, storm, come here.
There always has to be something with sheep. Come by. Come by. Good girl.
Walk on. Walk on. Good girl.
Here, here, here. Natalie. Good girl. Good girl, storm. Good girl, copper.
So everybody, there you go. That was copper's first experience with a real bit of work.
Now, that job got way more difficult than I was anticipating it being.
The sheep just didn't want to go through that gate. It was really a two-dog job in the end there.
And yeah, copper's not that far into our training yet, so it was more like we had a dog and a
quarter. But that's fine. We got there. Copper, obviously, still really playful, wanting to play.
There is moments where she's showing a bit of something and chasing up.
But yeah, you can see when the couple of stubborn old years that are in here got a bit stroppy with
her, she backed away very quickly. She was very playful a lot of the time, wanting to play with
storm. That's kind of understandable of a puppy that's still only four months old. But like,
she's still showing interest there. She is going with storm. So we're probably going to start doing
a lot more of these. We're at the point now, I think, where we can start doing these. I'm quite
happy with the control that I had over her. She came back to me when I asked her to. And that's
really all I want at this point, is just her to come back when I need to. And she seemed to listen
when it was important that she did listen. So that's where we are. And that'll do for this
video. And we'll see you guys in the next one.
