Hey guys and welcome back to my channel.
So in today's video I thought I wanted to do something a bit different.
I wanted to share 5 of my current go-to sort of more basic and classic looks and then share
their more chic version.
So I have kind of like a recipe that I like to follow.
So usually I like to start with the base obviously which is almost always something very basic
and something very simple.
Then I like to add something to the look that makes it a bit more casual and just gives
it that touch of something effortless.
Then sometimes I like to add something classic maybe that could be a classic blazer or something
like that.
And then lastly I like to add something that I just call chic.
That could often be an accessory or changing up a pair of flat sneakers for a pointed boot
instead.
Something that just makes the outfit look a bit more chic and like I've tried.
It's not always that I go all in on all of these elements.
Obviously I start with the base and then I like to add maybe one or two of the other
elements.
Sometimes I like to go all in, it kind of depends on my mood that specific day.
It can sometimes be a little bit hard to point out exactly what it is that makes an outfit
look more chic, even the very basic kind.
But I'm hoping that with this video it will become a lot easier for you.
So let's start with the first outfit.
The base is a pair of jeans and a shirt.
That is something that I wear often myself, especially on the days where I'm just working
from home and I want to wear something totally fuss free.
Something that is very comfortable but something I can kind of dress up if I'm going to run
some errands and I just want to look a bit more chic.
So let's start with the more effortless version of this outfit.
So I will start rolling up my sleeves and then I will do a half tuck in the front of
my jeans just to make it look a bit more casual again.
Then I also sometimes like to do just a little bit of a roll up at the ankles because I think
that that is a very cute detail as well.
I like it when the ankles are just peeking through above the edge of your shoes.
I feel like this look could need something a bit more chic instead of wearing it completely
plain with a pair of sneakers.
So I'm going to ditch those, although being very comfortable there's nothing wrong with
those sneakers.
But if I'm in the mood for something just a bit more chic, I will ditch the sneakers
for a pair of pointed boots instead.
The boots not only look a bit more edgy, they also make my legs look a bit longer.
So that's always a win.
Then I'd also love to add a belt to this look just again to make it look a bit more chic,
to define my waist and also to give it just a bit more bling.
Let's move on to look number two, which is another very basic look that I wear a lot
during the week.
Like probably most of the days this is my uniform.
So for the base we have a basic t-shirt and then a pair of jeans.
These jeans are actually new.
These are the kick crop jeans from Everlane and I recently purchased these jeans because
I really love the fit of these jeans and I've been wanting to try this specific pair of
jeans from Everlane for quite some time.
Also because they are a bit more of a flattering version of my vintage Levi's jeans, which
I know is definitely not everyone's cup of tea.
So to make this outfit look more chic, I am going to add something classic first and I'm
going to do that by adding a blazer.
You could also go for a leather jacket or something similar.
I feel like a light jacket like this is one of the easiest ways to instantly look more
chic.
Then for something effortless to this look, I'm going to ruch up the sleeves of my blazer.
Something I absolutely love to do.
I feel like especially on the days where I don't want to bother curling my hair or do
anything with my hair, but at the same time I'm not in the mood for putting it up in a
bun.
I like to just kind of swoosh it to one side and then tuck it behind my ear like this.
Add some jewelry, some earrings and then that's it.
Then as a final thing, I would probably replace those round toe boots with a pair of pointed
boots again.
And like I said before, they just make my legs look way longer and I feel like they
have a more well-dressed vibe to them than those very casual round toe Dr. Martens boots.
Again there's nothing wrong with them, but if I want to look a bit more chic, then the
pointed ones are probably what I would go for.
Whereas the ones with the round toes, something that I will choose on the days where I just
want to be completely casual.
So for look number three, the base is a pair of white jeans and a jumper.
Don't worry, there'll be a dress in the mix as well, but I'm just more of a jeans and
trousers kind of girl.
I don't wear dresses and skirts all that much, but if I make a version two of this video,
if I turn it into a series, I'll definitely see if I can include some more dresses and
skirts.
For the next look, we're sticking with the jeans.
So here we have, like I said, a jumper and a pair of white jeans.
So starting with the effortless details, I'm of course going to roll up the sleeves of
my jumper and then I'm going to do a half tuck in the front.
Then as the last thing in the whole effortless area, I'm going to roll up the hemlines of
my jeans as well.
Finally, I'm going to add some chicness to the outfit with a bunch of accessories.
So I'm going to add that same belt that I've already been using and then like with the
other outfits, I will throw on a bunch of jewelry and then that's it for this look.
So for outfit number four, here comes the dress that I was speaking about before.
It's actually the dress that I'm wearing right now, which is a super old basic shift dress
and I wanted to include a couple of looks that are suitable for the season that we're
in right now, which is summer.
Again, there's absolutely nothing wrong with this dress.
I actually really love the simplicity of this dress and it looks great with just a pair
of black slides.
But for the purpose of this video, I obviously wanted to add some elements to make the look
just a bit more chic.
So for something effortless, there's not really much I can do with this dress.
I can't really roll up any sleeves or any hemlines or anything like that, but I can
add a jacket and for those days where it's kind of in between, especially with the very
indecisive weather we have in Denmark right now, I'm sorry about that.
But my cart was just full, so I just needed to switch to another memory card.
What was I saying?
Army jackets.
So another kind of jacket that I really love besides leather jackets and blazers is an
army jacket.
It's a great light jacket, especially for summertime to just throw on if it gets a bit
too cool or if it's windy or if it starts raining or anything like that.
So obviously you could wear it on top of the dress if you're feeling a bit cold, but if
it's a bit too warm, it's really cool to just tie it around your waist.
You could do this with a denim jacket as well.
I feel like tying a jacket in your waist is such a cool and effortless way to not only
highlight your waist, but also obviously for practical reasons to have a jacket with you.
Then for something chic, if the weather allows it, if it's not like 30 degrees outside and
the sun is just blazing down, I will definitely wear a pair of boots with this look instead
of the slides because I just think it looks way more chic, way more edgy, and I'm all
about that, especially for this summer season.
Sometimes I do make just a bit of sacrifice for fashion, but of course comfort comes first.
So another thing that I would do with this look is to add a scarf like I'm wearing right
now and throw on a couple of jewelry like with all of the other looks.
It's really all about those small details, even with a dress where you can't really do
anything.
There's actually small things that you can do.
So let's move on to the fifth and final look of today's video.
This is another very easygoing kind of summer look for me.
So it consists of a v-neck tank top and then a pair of jeans.
So again, just another more summery version of my jeans and t-shirt kind of looks.
Then to not only look a bit more effortless and to look taller too actually, I will tuck
in the v-neck tank top into my jeans.
These are a pair of high-waisted jeans, so they make my legs look way longer than a pair
of mid-rise or low-rise jeans would.
Then finally, I would love to replace the flat slides with a pair of lace-up espadrilles
to again make the look a bit more chic and a bit more feminine to give me a bit of more
height as well.
There's nothing wrong with the slides and I wear them a lot during the summer, but sometimes
if you're in the mood for it and if I'm not going to be walking all around town, then
going for a pair of shoes with some sort of heels is definitely an easy way to look more
chic.
So there you have it guys.
That was five of my current go-to very basic outfits and their more chic version.
So again, I hope this video made it more clear to you what kind of things you can do to an
outfit to elevate it and to instantly make it look way more chic.
Let me know down below if you would like me to make this into a returning series, because
I could obviously show a lot of different outfits and then come up with little things
that you can do to elevate these kinds of looks.
