Michael B. Jordan On Being Honored The Same Day As Late ‘Black Panther’ Co-Star Chadwick Boseman

This is a tremendous honor, man. What does this mean to you to get this honor tonight? I mean, for me, it's full of grace, man, and gratitude for something that you've been doing for such a long time. And to have people recognize your work, your peers, people who you look up to and admire, acknowledging what you contributed to the craft is a special feeling. It's kind of hard to put into words, but just seeing so many people that you love and you care about over the years, too, showing up in one room, you know what I mean? It's a big deal also. Showing love, man. Today, I feel like you just got a big old hug from the universe because today you're getting honored on the same day as your boy Chadwick, man. What does that feel like? Man, that was something special, honestly. I mean, who could have planned it any better, you know, for me to like start out the morning paying respects and honoring, you know, Chadwick Boseman and, you know, and to have this honor for myself on the same day, you know, I wouldn't want to share it with anyone else, man. So that was a pretty cool experience. I'm so proud of you. You got your family here, man. Everyone's taking pictures, being together. I actually talked to Michael, your dad. He was talking about being in West Africa. He's like, man, I don't think I'm coming back. But I talked to everybody, and I know you moved out recently, man. Are they trying to get you back to move back in the house, man? Because I interviewed your sister and your mom. I ain't going to tell you what they said, but are they trying to get you back in? Man, whenever I can, man, like, you know, as much time as I can spend with them, you know, I try to make it happen, man. I don't know about moving back in, but we'll work something out. So I'll be close. Before you go, one question. Ryan Coogler, man, how special is that collaboration? Because he's here today. You both suited and booted today, but how special is that collaboration between you two? Oh, man, very special, man. I mean, I think the work speaks for itself on one aspect, but just the brotherhood and our family ties are extremely special, and really, yeah, man, some things go beyond the work, you know, and having a community, having a brotherhood like that is truly special for me.
